This is probably the only time I've heard an instructor speak of the clubface facing down starting at waist height. SO MUCH FOR COOKIE CUTTER INSTRUCTION!! This type of motion obviously creates a natural body rotation and timing through impact and to the finish. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! Ever since the great Se Ri Pak emerged on the scene, Korean women have set the pace in form and feel in womens golf. Not just womens golf. All of golf. If there is better online instruction than Lily provides, I've yet to see it. Keep sending these fantastic videos.
Lilly, this is a very different release pattern to the one being taught in Europe, USA and UK, but for a few exceptions in the UK (e.g. Kevin Wang). What is exciting is it provides a genuine new approach to gaining distance with the irons & no doubt also with the driver. Your point about the amateurs irons all going the kind of same distance resonates with many of us. I am wondering if this release pattern involves a rapid closing of the face through impact (toe overtaking heel)? My sense is that it doesn’t involve a rapid closing of the face but what it does involve is a major amount of spinning of the club face over the top of the ball, with a downward penetrating blow. But the key difference is the way the hands & wrists revolve upwards & around. A traditional release pattern seems to have the straight line release/ arms fully extended at 4 o’clock where the club points downwards at a 45 degree angle to the ground. I think your revolving trail hand / palm to face target, blended with body rotation prevents the snap hook left occurring if you were to move into impact with club face down at Last Parallel/ at the Delivery Position and then also go to supinate the lead forearm through impact. A snap hook would be the result if you did this, especially if you stopped rotating through the shot. So it’s a completely new / different release pattern. No room to mix the modern body controlled passive hands release pattern with your top spin forehand draw release pattern. But I can see how effective it could be if you master it. Myles
Awesome. I play one game a year but practice everyday . All the lessons that u show is what I've learn by myself . Guys lily is a natural golfer all her lessons will never fail u . Keep it up lily
Hi Lily! What a wonderful and beautiful swing and great drill tips. Just in time for me to take it to the range. I'm heading out now and can't wait to use your tips! Thank you so much!!
I enjoy your tips and lessons as senior beginner .. anyway, appreciate if you could share your WITB (what is in your bag) club & shaft .. thanks a lot !
Lily. Thanks. This is what many are waiting for. And a remain a myth. Do we have to lock the lead and trail wrist for ball impact ? You can reply using korean language. Want to know your advice.
No you never lock either wrist with Lilly’s release pattern. Quite the opposite. Her release pattern. With your left wrist feel like it goes from a bowed position (enabling a hands forward / shaft leaning position through impact), into a lead hand thumbs up, where you supinate the lead forearm. It feels like you’re covering the ball / striking the ball with the back of your lead hand (palm slightly facing the sky through impact). The trail hand feels like a Mr Miyagi's karate move where in the film he shows how to wipe a window. You revolve your right hand from fingers starting pointing down going into impact to palm facing the target and fingers/ hand facing up in the through swing / post impact. It’s like playing a forehand smash down the line where the ball just flies low over the net straight down the line from the back right of the tennis court. Myles
Lily, you are the best❤Short, accurate , useful instruction, the best on TH-cam 👍👍

Thank you Lily, for another clear & truthful lesson. I wonder why very few other pros teach like you?!
Great lesson Lily. I am already working on 'rolling the wrists' and it works so well.
Love your simplicity in teaching. Thank you Lily!
Thanks Lily! The simplicity in your lessons has drastically changed my golf game. I will definitely be recommending others to your channel!

Greetings from the U.S. I love your videos Lily, thank you so much for the detailed teachings.
Best swing videos available. Thanks Lily.
Miss Lily, this a great lesson, also the subscriber numbers are soaring, that indicates you are doing things right. Well done and thank you.
Right on just don't over rotate it will create hooks great lesson ❤
Thanks Lily. So important to start the rotation sooner than you think. Starting it when the club is waist high is perfect!

Thanks Lily!! That's me all my irons go the same distance! I will practice the drills!!
Another terrific video! Thank you. If the club-face faces the ground won’t the face be closed and cause the ball to go left?
Do you have any off season exercises for seniors to help with focus, strength and flexibility?
Great info Lily you make so much sense
Amazing Lily this helps 🎉

Does this apply to the driver. Love your video

Although this is a simple drill it took me several viewings to get it
❤❤❤
👍❤
Isnt that creat flip ?
I’d take the first swing 😅
But then I hook the ball tremendously becoz my club face is closed to the ball. It should be square not closed.
👍
When I do this I hook everything 30 yrds left 😔
You need more body rotation. Go watch Jerome Ruffin’s scratch to scratch lesson with Dana
