- I bought another bike! I’ve had this one for a few months at this point... And note, this is not a review! Not even a first impressions, this is more of a showcase. The review will come in the spring, after we re-build it to its formal glory!

I didn't really understand why you complained about all these little issues, when you can fix everything for about 500 bucks. They aren't even real issues with the bike
This bike like many, is a very good bike, properlly setted on carb, exhaust, suspension, it is the cheapest bike to unhide its racer capability, with proper skill, it is a weapon for other bikes and do really affect others riders psicologies whem you are behind them, love it.
I use this bike for offroad, wood, bush riding..
This bike are beast and can give you surprises in some cases when you opened trottle bit more than needed on current obsticles...
Yeah, it is havier (like 12kg more) than my friends 13 years newer 300cc 2T (Sherco), but stil.. even new this bike right now are 2k cheaper than that 2T enduro.
And yeah. You should do regular maintenance, adjust susspention for your weight and riding style - than it will serve you good..
And all talks about drawbaks of current exemplar - you always can upgrade that - put larger front brake disk, calliper etc.
+ front fork oil leaks - many of them come from bad bushes who got bad cause many riders don't know how to install front tire correctly- usint all good practices to setup axle correct before torq it's bolts...
Seems odd to call a bike shit then only list things that are a result of terrible maintenance... Do the fork seals and bleed the front brake. The left hand switches are aftermarket too, the stock ones work fine.
I'd be pointing out the tight ratio 5 speed box, the short maintenance intervals compared to an actual road bike, tall seat height, vibey overall feel, difficulty securing it if you park in the city, etc etc...
You have valid points, and most are inherent to all supermotos. But I can call my bike shit, because I was talking about MY bike, MY example. There are many custom things about this particular bike, of course some of the downsides I mentioned don’t apply to all KLXs. When talking about a motorcycle that’s custom, like a lot of supermotos out there, I am talking about the example I have on hand, since modifications can alter a motorcycle drastically.

This bike is AWESOME I'm not just saying that because I have one... its really amazing and wheelies sooo ez its so fun and soooo fast, its light and light on fuel and sound AMAZING. If you are thinking about buying one you can't go wrong with this bike 🤟
How much range do you get on yours? And is yours also the carb version?

I absolutely fell in love with my 08 KLX 450R as I bought mine with less than 900 Miles on the Odometer and it was already fully piped and jetted for the FMF Power Bomb header complimented by power core 4 barking out the back. It's plenty fast considering it will do over 100 with the Way mine is set up. Don't really have any complaints about it. I went and got a 1996 KLX 650R because I loved the 450R so much and it is still my favorite. My 96 KLX 650R don't have E-Start and with the high Compression she has piston gotta be TDC every time you go to kick start the O'l Girl.
i race and mod this bike. with the proper setup and skills,it can outrun newer model bikes.
That’s what I am hoping with my build series that I just started... I want to restore it to its glory! I’m sure it will make for a proper fun machine.
I got one, this is one of the best bike to have fun cornering, with well modified carb ( green team needle from kawasaky) , exhaust system, and well modified suspension and front angle adjusted, it is a real boss in many terrains at any speed, and a killer bike in the corner, it is stiil beat any bike nowadays, love it. Other riders in circuits respect it, specially when you are behind them, good bike to turn insider corner,
The problem is maintenance,not the model nor Kawa!

I don't understand, this is definetely not the KLX450R, KLX450R has a 21 inch front not anything like 16.5. This one is heavily modded. Looks like these mods aren't the best thing heh?
The base was a 450R that had been converted to a supermoto. That being said, the original conversion was ... kinda shit.
Why Kawasaki have all the tools to make it better , with some little mods , they have the kx engine , frames, but the suspension start leaking faster more in the desert 🌵, you set the suspension put headers and you can’t go faster than ktms , husky’s , Hondas or Yamahas , what is the real purpose? Beginner bike ? Its better focused the klx 300r , they were play bikes for everyone
If it’s a 2021 klx 450r you won’t have problems never really buy second hand
Unfortunately it’s an older model, an 09
Trad it in for the newer one more improvements more power down low
It’s fine to buy second second hand if you know what to expect and if you get it for a good price. I’m planning to do a lot of mods to this bike so it was a good choice for me ... I think :)

Hello, I would appreciate it if you can help me with the maintenance schedule and service duration for the bike. I am planning to get one but want to make sure if I can afford to get regular maintenance. I don't want to buy and then it would be sitting around because of me.
It’s pretty often... For example, the oil changes should be done every 15 hours or so...

If it’s your only bike I would for sure pick the sled... Sure, a bike like the KLX or RMZ might be more fun but I would not have it as my only bike...

For such a good writer, this is a very unfair review/ criticism of the bike. It casts a dark shadow on a model of Kawasaki that is loved by so many. Sorry you didn’t find that. They are so fun and so capable and pretty tough for how simple they are. I love mine because it provides hours of fun. I hope someday you give it another chance or people who follow you will just think it’s a terrible bike.
Back when I made this video, I was talking about my particular example. Not about a mint one, but about mine. Since then, it has become pretty dialed

I wish I knew :) the Speedo was broken when I got it. The engine itself is healthy though, I had it checked over recently.

I didn’t, the previous owner did :) plus, it’s not a review, I wouldn’t do such a disservice to this bike. It was just a first impression video on this particular example that I bought. I will do a proper review once it gets built properly (should be done really soon)
Yes they are on the begginer side , suspension soft and last less , than Yamahas or hondas, ktm huskies , they should do better in this bike , that have all the tolls it the details that make it a liitle lazy

This bike is not for you my friend , sell it to someone that will use its potential
Ah , noticed the new guard rails on that secluded mountain road ..so at least some of the EU money is actually reaching its destination. Next test drive a Dacia car ,but first you have to bang it up a bit, neglect maintenance and mount the wrong tires and proceed calling it amazingly shit..you might get a friendly phone call or Email from Renault...but who knows!
