      @@adamramirez1 pretty good! i was in the same shoes as you as far as going to a 4 year even if i knew i wouldn’t like it there, that 4 year being csula. i took classes in the fall out there and finished with a 3.9, unfortunately i only have 9 transferable units from that fall semester. as for the spring semester i enrolled at pcc and im currently just balancing both. i’m taking 5 classes total (4 at csula and 1 at pcc). i got into their honors program as well so i’m just going to use those benefits they offer to get into usc. i plan on moving to pcc full time for the fall and spring, but i’m enrolling in two classes for this summer to add up on units. hopefully all goes well from here till next spring and i’ll be at usc as a junior in fall 2023

      @@sollie_e hey, i would 100% recommend taking classes at pcc or even elac. there’s a lot more transparency as to which classes can transfer over to another school for full credit. i went through the same issue as csula with not knowing which classes transferred over, and i ended up with 9 transferable units after my freshman year. i would highly suggest mixing classes at pcc and elac!

    I got accepted to pretty much every UC and was tagged for Davis. I didn't expect Berkeley to choose me. I did a ton of research about this school and heard a lot of bad things but some good ones too. I wanted to be in a place where I know I'd have to learn how to be independent. I wanted to be challenged and experience what hell is like, even though most of my life has already been hell. Maybe I'm a masochist. I chose Berkeley.

    • @adamramirez1

    I just started my first year at UC Merced and so far, it has been super depressing for me. I've made a few friends and joined a few clubs but at the end of the day, I feel like this school isn't for me. When I choose this school, I didn't have many options, and I only wanted to get away from home. Since I wasn't from around here (MERCED), transportation was a huge issue, I have to take ubers because the school bus barely takes us anywhere. The school is in the middle of nowhere like? There is nothing to do at campus like at all, the school does host a lot of activies but even those are boring as well. It just feels like High School again. What should I do after my first year? Where should I transfer to?

    I am on a mission to get into the Haas program at Berkeley. Although, I've just gone ahead started my journey at my local California CC instead of doing the complicated path you did, haha. I just have one question for you. What was your essay topic? Did you participate in clubs, anything you would say helped you enter into Berkley? I would love a response from a guy like you who is took a similar path as I am currently doing. I wish you great success at Berkeley.

    • @adamramirez1
      @adamramirez1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I didn’t participate in any clubs but it would help to have experiences to write about in your application. You’ll have to do a Haas application and a uc application so start thinking about the questions why haas and why be a business major

    • @levijm890
      @levijm890 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I just transferred into Haas from a CCC. You can definitely do it! I didn't really participate in any clubs, but did have a good amount of work experience. I also did some academic extracurricular programs with my CC that helped my app. a lot I believe.
      Overall, my advice to is this. Get the highest grades you can. Leap at any experience that's business related or even just 'academic' that you can relate to business in some way. Start working on your PIQ's EARLY and DO NOT half ass them. Pay attention to Haas's 4 defining leadership principles while writing them, and definitely incorporate them into your essays in some way.
      Good luck! If you would like to know more let me know!

    What were the classes you were taking at San Marcos that didn't transfer over to the UC's? About two days ago I went to Fullerton College and spoke to the counselor regarding if the classes I'm taking at CSUF would transfer over to the UC's. We spoke and she couldn't match my (EGCE) Civil Engineering Major class with any from the community college. This kind of left me confused and wondered if I just did that class for nothing lol, I'm assuming this class wont transfer over. Not sure. Im assuming this is what happened to you as well? maybe?

Going to the CSU put you behind, but what if there was a way to go to a CSU then transfer to the CC with 30 transferable credits completed for the UC as we are intended to have. Hi I want to take this route as well because csulb doesn’t allow me to change my major because of how many units I’ve completed from my current major. I’d Ike to transfer out to a CC to change my major and then transfer to a UC. Since after this semester I’d completed 2 1/2 years at csulb would just my GEs be counted going into CC since I’m changing my major? I was told that apparently my 70 units will follow me wherever I go making it harder to transfer anywhere

    So I will be attending cal state la, full ride but I was considering community College because I'm going to major in biology and on a pre med route. 2 of my dream schools were UCLA and UCI but I'm having a hard time deciding on where to go, I really want to go to UCLA or UCI but I'm not sure if it would be easier to transfer from a cal state to a uc or from a cc to uc. Should I give a cal state la a try for 1 year like how you did, what would you recommend me to do??

    • @adamramirez1
      @adamramirez1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on your goals. If getting into med school is your goal then I'm not sure if the school you attended is a factor. It would probably be easier to get better grades at cal state la than other UCs. If you're barely going into your freshman year I would say its more logical to go to CC than transfer.

    Adam, I have a question about CSU to CSU transfer pathway, if you can help me please... I am newly addmited transfer student for upcoming fall semester at one of CSU'S which wasnt my top choice (Calpoly Slo is my top target) , how can I transfer or is it possible to transfer from my newly admitted CSU to my dream CSU, Cal Poly (I still continue taking cc classes as well) should I drop out ? But then loose whole year ? Or it is much easier than I am thinking... any words of advice please if you are familiar

      Which csu are you admitted to? I think you would have to reapply to slo from a cc. They might have a spring admission so you don’t have to lose a whole year. Otherwise you would “lose” a year unless you can take upper divisions that count towards your major at slo.
