I put an 11-34 that you have linked and it is night and day. I mean totally different ride. The 34 was insanely nice to the point of getting goosebumps with first steep hill. I live in WV and on a hill so there's a few treacherous and some intermediate hills on my commute. I had to push on the huge ones before and now I can kick it in to 1st and pedal with absolute ease. I put it in 2nd for intermediate hills no problem. To give you an idea of how well it rides I can pedal it easily from a full stop with no motor at all and it doesn't feel like pedaling a tank. Also, before I was having trouble hitting 28 on flat ground and running out of pedal, now it's a humongous change and have plenty of pedal even when topping out. The only thing I had to adjust was the tension screw (not sure of exact name) that you can adjust by hand on the before the gear derailleur. Perfect video.

I completed the upgrade thanks to your video. Ran into a bit of trouble with my XP 2.0 ST that is different from the video, my bike did not have a removable spacer behind the original gear so when I installed the replacement the gears were way out of alignment and had to do some major adjustment. Luckily I found a shimano derailleur adjustment video and problem solved. Oh and the upgrade is awesome no more freewheeling here.
Thanks for this video. My problem was the opposite as I live in an area with very steep hills. I followed your instructions bit switched to a 14-34t Shimano freewheel, and it all went very well. The derailleur *just* misses the new 34 tooth, and it works great. Thanks again!

I Just Applied The 11-28 On My XP & Man What A Difference This Makes .. I Didn't Ever Really Pedal My Bike Before .. But Now With This New Freewheel .. All I Wanna Do Is Pedal .. It Makes The Bike To Me Feel Much More Powerful & Faster .. This Is The Best Upgrade To This Bike 💯⚠
I just got back from the garage doing this freewheel swap on the 2.0 version. It seems even easier to drop the rear wheel in the frame than in your video. Thank you for a great guide, learning tool and portal to a better bike. The test drive was great and was well worth the $55 to upgrade
Finally replaced mine a month or so back and what a difference it makes when going 28 plus mph. I took pictures all the way thought the process, helps a lot. Great video Jeremiah. -- Chris @ LectricTraveler.
I just changed my Freewheel on my XP and it absolutely does make getting to 28 easier. Really glad I had your video also cuz I bumped the nuts and washers by accident got them out of sequins and had to look at your video to make sure I put them the right way :-) I took my brake caliper off and it made it much easier. It went right back on with no adjustments. The whole change wasn't 10 or 15 minutes.
Thanks just did this on my Fucare Scorpio. Didnt have that spacer to remove like your bike but i did need to readjust the derailleur to make it shift properly. All good now! So much better in high gear! Thanks
Got it up to 32 mph today. Seemed like I was still pedaling a little fast at that speed but maybe just maybe at 67 years old I shouldn't probably go that fast!
Nice seeing you wearing a helmet for your safety.i bought some clear safety glasses so the bugs would not get in my eyes for some evening riding when the bugs are out which works out great .have some great rideing.
Just changed my factory XP 2.0 freewheel to an 11/28 and it went in so smoothly thanks to your video; by the way the size wrench for the freewheel removal socket is 24mm wrench.
A small tip, if you get hold of a threaded bar about half inch dia. (you might have one from your front forks when the bike was packed?) , two washers and nuts, and rwo blocks of wood drilled half through the size of the bar. Cut the bar until it fits between the rear top tube of your bike with the blocks on each end. Then if you fit the nut and washers to the ends , you can use the nuts to expand the rear enough to easily clear the wheel spindles. Remove it to get the wheel off, and replace it through the spokes and tighten it again to replace the spindle . Niice, cheap and easy way to do an awkward job.
Jerry : I changed the freewheel on my fat tire bike. The freewheel was a Shimano. The gears were 1st 28 and 7th was 14. The replacement was a DNP freewheel 1st 34 and 7th is 11. I had to buy a new Shimano Turney TY300 6/7 speed rear derailleur of of Amazon, from Larry's Bicycles. The cost was only $19.55 tax included. The derailleur that came on the bike was a cheap Shimano with no B adjustment screw. The jockey wheel would not clear the much larger diameter 1st gear. I bought a new chain and 2 extra master links. I had to add several links to the new chain, from my original chain, that was not stretched, to get the correct length to attain the correct angle on the tensioner jockey wheel arm. Great video series. By the way, what is the part # on the hub motor? Thanks
Thanks for the info Don. I was wondering if the 11-34 freewheel would clear the derailer on the xp. You said you changed it in your fat tire bike....was it on a Lectric XP or different bike?
@@JeremiahMcintosh It was on a 26" fat tire bicycle. The 28 tooth sprocket is about 114mm/4.5" diameter, tooth peak to tooth peak. The 34 tooth sprocket is around 145 or 6mm/5.7" diameter, tooth peak to tooth peak. I have a Lectric XP on order. Lectric was supposed to start shipping on 4/27. If the derailleur on the XP has a B adjusting screw it may have enough adjustment to allow the jockey wheels enough travel to clear the larger 1st gear. The derailleur on my bike was designed to work pacifically with the standard 7 speed, 14/28 freewheel. Front and rear derailleurs have a sprocket max. size limit. I imagine that if the XP has a derailleur designed to work with a 7/8 speed free wheel it may work.
Great video. I just added on my XP 2.0, 11-34 and had no spacer to remove like your bike, and everything fit perfect with no issues. I wish I had a 9-34 instead because I fell like I need more paddle on high speed and the 11 is better but still could do better to keep 30mph. My weight is 215Lbs. Better life at high speed with some hills is 10 miles. I will be adding a 2nd batter to get me 20AH and 20 miles range.
I have a Sondor's SX bike land love it, but as you said earlier in the video once you get to higher speeds on the bike it's like your Wile E Coyote running in the air before the big drop. I didn't change the freewheel since I didn't know which one to get but now I do. I did change the crankset of the bike to a bigger size instead of the stock. That made a whole lot of a difference in the pedaling now. I can crank the bike with the higher speed and get more speed out of my baby. I plan to also change out the freewheel now that I know which one to get. Thanks for the video.
finally found it after lots of looking for the arrow you mentioned, never did find the arrow. but found the link under the show more tab way down towards the bottom. thanks
I just install my new freewheel on the Mars HeyBike. There were a few differences. The spacer ring behind the freewheel component was not present at all on the HeyBike. There also is no retaining washer with the Allen screw. Everything swapped out perfectly. I also added whitewall tires just for fun, while i was taking it apart anyway. Haven't ridden it yet but the static test show no brake drag, shamano shifter goes threw all gear and are all aligned perfectly. gonna take it out later for a street ride. I am redoing my handlebar configuration now. Thanks
Changing the freewheel on the HeyBike made me able to actually pedal at 22-24 mph instead of just going through the motions. It is a very worthwhile upgrade for me on my Ebike. thanks Jeremiah nice!!!
Caution when mounting rear tire! Jeremiah, I did not replace my freewheel yet, but did have an opportunity to remove my rear wheel to replace tires and tubes and slime them. A few days after the repairs were complete I happen to notice my chain/derailer was very close to my tire when in 1st gear, almost touching. I compared to my other XP and noticed the other had an approx. 1/2" clearance. After confirming that my derailer and other components were not bent I attempted a derailer adjustment to no avail. I then stuck my fingers in between the frame and front of tire on each side and confirmed the tire was centered. I then compared to my other XP and realized the tire on the other XP was mounted slightly bias to the left. That is to say the front of the rear tire is approx. 1/4" closer to the frame than the left side. When I researched this it turned out fat tire bikes in general have tight tolerances between chain/tire especially in 1st gear due to the fat 4" tires. Makes sense. To fix the issue I loosened the rear axle nuts on both sides and lifted the rear of bike off the ground. I could then shake the rear tire and realized the washers with a lock tooth allowed the wheel mount to move approx. 1/8" on the azimuth . I pushed the front of the tire towards the left (or rear of tire towards the right) like the other XP and tightened. Chain alignment issue was now resolved with a substantial clearance in 1s gear. I wanted to point this out to anyone who removes the rear wheel for any reason. You need to verify that when in 1st gear, your chain/derailer are not rubbing against your tire. In retrospect, Lectric should have used a 6 speed freewheel and allowed more of a gap between the 1st gear chain/tire clearance rather than having to install wheel off center.
Are you saying that when the axle is sitting completely seated in the axle frame dropouts with the nuts loose that the wheel is not correctly aligned and you tweaked it sideways for clearance before tightening?
Great video! I saw another youtuber showing how use a turnbuckel to help expand the frame. I needed it because it was way too tight to spread by hand. Great job and presentation!
Turnbuckle. That seems like a great idea. It would allow you to use precise yet powerful pressure to open the frame up. You only need to open it a little bit.
very much appreciate an amateurs point of view. when you look up hows tos by the pros, it always look so easy, but it's never that case when you try to do it.
Jeremiah, I was wondering how I would work on my bike upside down with damaging the components and computer display. Since I did not have the styrofoam blocks or bench to use I came up with an alternate idea which is great for those folks in apartments or spouses not wanting you to use the family coffee table. (-: You inspired me to to get a couple foam yoga blocks to rest the front grips on, and an 18" folding step stool to rest the rack on. Here are the links from Amazon for anyone who wants to do the same. Foam yoga blocks - folding
I advise people to think about where they will be using their bikes. Where i live its all up and down terrain, not much flat, so i went for the 14 - 34T which gives me plenty of gears for the hills. I think the 11-28T is a great choice if you ride your bike on mainly flat terrain.
I am getting the bike next month. I want to put the sweptback handlebars on for comfort. Question: do I need to know the stem size or any other mounting concerns when ordering new handlebars? thanx
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanx, I have a concern about the tires on the xp. I put slime in each tires, and inflated them to about 18lbs. Rode it first day about 20 miles, no issues. The next day I rode it about 3 miles, the rear tire went flat. There were no holes in tube or tire, but I discovered when you inflate them keep the bike on a rack or just somehow do not inflate while bike sits on the weight of the tires. They will not seal on the wheels properly. Slowly inflate them while rotating the tire to see if they seal onto the wheel evenly. Then after I inflated them, I rolled the bike around pushing down on it to insure a seal. Seems strait forward when inflating them, but they easily will not seal correctly if not careful. Also, there is no cruise control, I followed your instructions, and cruise control does not come up on screen, only walk, no matter how short/long I press the down button. Maybe this is an option they do not offer on the 2020 bikes. thanks again Jeremiah.
You should have cruise control you have to be in PAS 1 through five hold the throttle without pedaling to your desired speed and then hold the down button at the same time. If you are not holding the throttle then it will go to walk mode.
Thanks for taking the time to do this Jeremy. This is the first upgrade I mad on our two XP ST's. I used the 11-34 tooth because we have lots of steep hills here in Utah. Your video mad it a breeze to do this work.
I just ordered a 11-34. My cheap chinese stock freewheel has a busted 11(7th gear). The ratcheting has so much play in it, that it bangs every time you start to pedal. You really do need that 11 for an ebike. I've never had to gear down to 1st, but my bike came with the 11-34, so that's what I ordered.
Great video Jeremiah! I have learned a lot from it. I have a question about the freewheel tool you used. Could you tell me what the measurement of the length of it is from one end to the other, and what the length is of teeth part of the freewheel tool that inserts into the freewheel? The measurement of the free wheel tool I bought is 1 1/8 inches long and the length of the teeth part of the free wheel tool is 3/4 inch long. I want to make sure I have the right size free wheel tool because I'm thinking my free wheel may be too short. Please make these measurements for me of the free wheel tool you are using. I want to buy the right size tool when I am changing out my freewheel. Thanks
Yeah I did the same thing on my Ecotric fat tire bike so now my 6 and 7 gears give me a better ratio while keeping the 28 teeth etc for hills etc. Thank You
Jeremiah Mcintosh I am very happy with it and the company has been very responsive when I had a S900 cable fail. They sent a warranty replacement LCD right away. I have the 36v 500 watt motor, but I also added a 500 watt 36v mxus motor to the front with a second controller and sw900 lcd. The bike no longer slows for hills, but the gear ratio made a night and day difference so I no longer over spin the cranks in 6th and 7th gear. I am 6ft 250 lbs and I get a consistent sustainable 25mph using pedal assist @ 5 in 7th gear. Thanks
Looks good, not too hard looking. Would like to mention that now would have been be a good time to remove the tire/ innertube and wrap gorilla tape around the inside of the rim for extra protection from the spokes.
THANX EXCELLENT VIDEO AS USUAL…WILL BE UPGRADING TO AN 11-34 THIS WINTER ALONG TIRE CHANGE(GREEN) TANNUS ARMOR, NEW HANDLEBARS AND A FEW OTHER THINGS FOR MY STEP THRU…THANX AGAIN KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Tip, Two small crescent wrenches on the back of the flat part of the frame act as handles. wheel will fall right in. Having a second pair of hands is ideal.
Did you consider changing the front chain ring instead? It's a 51T which on a regular bike would be the biggest of a 3 ring set. I'm rarely on the big ring on my bikes and only used for speed going downhill.
Will adopt this on my ado a20+ wich has a cassette one. I felt always that the transmission ratio for gear 7 is too high. Especially when unlocked to higher speeds than 25. Thx
There is a guy who made a spreader out of a 4 inch turnbuckle with cane feet that fits between the frame easily and holds it open. He posted it on TH-cam as well
Thanks Randy. When I make my videos I try to address all the questions I would have. I’m glad you like them! I did mess up on one part of the video and it is driving me crazy but I don’t want to delete and re-upload it.
Another very highly informative video. I have a few of the same mods you have on your bike just based on watching your videos. Definitely will do this with my bike soon. Keep up the content.
I need to do this for my next upgrade, I have been hearing alot about it. Love your videos! I have been doing similar ones for this bike on my channel. Thank you for this!
Great review. I just got our Xp lectric bike last week I can already tell it is awesome. The only problem is the speed o meter and trip doesn’t work. Lectric said they are going to send me a new wheele and motor. The motor is why it’s not giving the speed. I have to what to see what all I get.
Am I understanding that the reason for changing the freewheel is so when going 28+ mph, your 7th gear is still allowing engagement. It isn't "freewheeling"? Also, at 11:20 After putting on the new freewheel, do you use the freewheel removal tool to tighten the new one before reinstalling the shim or is finger tight all that's needed? Thanks!
@@JeremiahMcintosh I was referring to the "shim" that you weren't exactly sure what it's called that was put on right after the freewheel to prevent the axle from spinning in the frame and goes on with the little tab in the same orientation as the cutout on the axle. In the video, you spun the freewheel on the threads and then the video went right to the installation of that "shim" so I wasn't sure if you tightened the freewheel with the freewheel removal tool and crescent wrench or if finger tight was all that was necessary.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Sounds great! I'll likely be doing this upgrade if and when I get my 2.0 bikes. Now that it sounds like China is going into another lockdown because of Covid, who know when bikes will be shipped to the States.
Hi I been seeing your video’s about the folding e-bike and I live in a 4th woke up is there a folding e-bike with high speed duel suspension rear rack and light weight that you recommend
@@JeremiahMcintosh why did u had to change it? And tell me the difference between the original freewheel and the replacement one of you don’t mind and thanks
Great videos, I have subbed! Question though, can you upgrade the 3.0 tires on the new Lectric bike to 4.0 tires on the same rims? Also where could I find a set of the blue rims that you see on the Sondor Fold ebike?
Awesome job! Very complete presentation. I have two bikes coming for my wife and myself in May. I have ordered a new freewheel for my bike. Can’t imagine my wife needing the higher gear. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial. You made it look easy.
yes the 11 to 32 will allow you to pedal up deeper inclines easier with the 32 tooth sprocket and will allow you to maintain pressure on the pedals at higher speeds with the 11 tooth sprocket.
Would it work to change just the single front sprocket with a slightly larger one? Just seems like that might be easier as long as it fit and didn't run into anything.
You could but keep in mind a front sprocket change will change all of your ratios. So if you are looking for a higher final ratio (slower pedaling at high speed) changing the front will also make your first gear higher ( less hill climbing capability).
Awaiting an online tube to fix my flat, rear tube, at 255 miles. Patching not successful due to extreme puncture. Found an idea for a rear stretcher from hardware turnbuckle + cane tips from a different youtuber. Wish me luck 🍀
Thanks. Got the new tube in the rear tire and had no issues with the frame pinching the hub. Your encouragement is appreciated. 258 miles on the odometer.
I have an 11-32 not 34 There's no level ground in my neighborhood and I'm not a small guy. It made a huge difference in low end but the gear difference around 4th made a big change too so I wasn't pedaling with no resistance from 4th to 7th
Kudos on a great channel! I just replaced the free wheel and seat suspension thingy, and it’s a whole new bike! I had already found & purchased the same ROCKBROS Bike Rack Bag Trunk Bag, which is really cool. The fold down panniers work great and you can store things in there too. The cloud 9 seat, the reflective wheel tape and other stuff you’ve shown, I’ve pretty much apeded and I am super happy with everything. This video in particular made changing the fly wheel a snap! Keep up the good work and thanks!
Are most freewheels the same size thread on different ebikes? I let my cousin ride with me on my speedrid and he got in to some muddy water and got sand in the bearings im going to take it apart and try and clean it out but a freewheel is cheap to just replace the whole thing if they are all pretty much the same .. i am a tractor mechanic so it shouldnt be hard to change out i ordered the tool to do it so i can at least clean the one on it
Nice! I am still waiting for mine to arrive this May and will wait for modifying. I’ll put this on my list tho for future. I’ve already preordered accessories you’ve listed in your other videos. I can’t wait wait!

Awesome and I’m glad you found it helpful. 👍
The absolute best guy for Lectric reviews and upgrades....thank you Jeremiah !!!!
Thank you Keith I really appreciate that!
Thanks just did this on my Fucare Scorpio. Didnt have that spacer to remove like your bike but i did need to readjust the derailleur to make it shift properly. All good now! So much better in high gear! Thanks
Nice! Glad you got it working.
@@JeremiahMcintosh i get everything working!
Just did that on my Gen3 ebike. Thank you! I didn't have any space and I had to adjust the derailleur but all good now.
Just changed my factory XP 2.0 freewheel to an 11/28 and it went in so smoothly thanks to your video; by the way the size wrench for the freewheel removal socket is 24mm wrench.
Glad you got it installed and working correctly. Happy Riding.
Your method to spread the frame looks quite reasonable - no tools! Thx.
Fabulous instructions! Followed it to the T, first bike took about an hour, second bike in under 20 minutes. Great job Jeremiah!
Thank You Gary!
Great job with the freewheel replacement Jeremiah! I've had my parts for awhile but glad I didn't try this on my own XP before watching ypur video!
Thanks Mark I’m glad you liked it!
I do not believe I have seen a better instruction video. You were right on perfect. Thank you so much Jeremiah.
Jeremiah,
Changed my freewheel today without any issues thanks to you. Your videos are very helpful and very informative! Thanks so much!
Awesome! Glad my videos helped! 👍
Changed mine on the Lectric Premium mid drive. Funny! I support mine from the rafters in the garage with a couple of motorcycle tiedown.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it!
Thanks for the video.
finally found it after lots of looking for the arrow you mentioned, never did find the arrow. but found the link under the show more tab way down towards the bottom. thanks
Ok great I’m glad you found it!
Thanks
Cool and thanks for the info. Keep me updated to let us all know how it worked out after your test ride.
Changing the freewheel on the HeyBike made me able to actually pedal at 22-24 mph instead of just going through the motions. It is a very worthwhile upgrade for me on my Ebike. thanks Jeremiah nice!!!
Great video. Thanks for your efforts in helping novis bike mechanics in doing their own upgrades.
When you put in the new freewheel, did you use the freewheel tool to tighten it? I did not see that step in your video. Thanks!
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Turnbuckle. That seems like a great idea. It would allow you to use precise yet powerful pressure to open the frame up. You only need to open it a little bit.
very much appreciate an amateurs point of view. when you look up hows tos by the pros, it always look so easy, but it's never that case when you try to do it.
Your welcome
Hello thanks for video's my question is the special socket you used to loosen the gears do you need to use it to tighten the new gears you put in?
Jeremiah, I was wondering how I would work on my bike upside down with damaging the components and computer display. Since I did not have the styrofoam blocks or bench to use I came up with an alternate idea which is great for those folks in apartments or spouses not wanting you to use the family coffee table. (-: You inspired me to to get a couple foam yoga blocks to rest the front grips on, and an 18" folding step stool to rest the rack on. Here are the links from Amazon for anyone who wants to do the same.

I advise people to think about where they will be using their bikes. Where i live its all up and down terrain, not much flat, so i went for the 14 - 34T which gives me plenty of gears for the hills. I think the 11-28T is a great choice if you ride your bike on mainly flat terrain.
Or you can use 11-34 and get the best of both worlds!
@@JeremiahMcintosh have to be careful getting those monster range flywheels because the chain would be slack one end and tight the other end.
@@DeNFlix... new chain ? will fixit?
Any guesses what a local bike shop would charge to do this if you provided the new freewheel ?
I am getting the bike next month. I want to put the sweptback handlebars on for comfort. Question: do I need to know the stem size or any other mounting concerns when ordering new handlebars? thanx
Based on other people I believe they need to be 25.4mm where they mount but I haven’t upgraded mine yet.
Awesome and glad you found it helpful! Feedback like this is greatly appreciated and what keeps me creating content!👍
Thanks
The link for the correct tool is in the description of this video.
Getting my xp2 next week. Will be my first upgrade I make
5:43 where did you get that rear derailleur guard? Can't find one for ebikes. They are so small and won't fit.
It came on the bike when I purchased it.
Yeah I did the same thing on my Ecotric fat tire bike so now my 6 and 7 gears give me a better ratio while keeping the 28 teeth etc for hills etc. Thank You
Thank you! How do you like the Ecotric? Do you have the one with the 500 W motor?
Thanks
You'd nearly changed everything on bike dude, must admit it's looks better with your new models & seems to be more of a smoother ride. Regards.
Looks good, not too hard looking. Would like to mention that now would have been be a good time to remove the tire/ innertube and wrap gorilla tape around the inside of the rim for extra protection from the spokes.
Good tip but I did flatten the tires enough to pinch it in to make sure the liner was installed correctly covering all the spokes.
Jeremiah I just ordered my lectic xp step though model in white model this morning thanks for giving me best advice
Excellent commentary. I'm upgrading from a 2016 vintage ebike so the comparisons are helpful to me. Thanks.

Awesome!! I’m loving the xp modification series! Jut received the seat and post from the last video and it really is a must. This is next:)
Awesome thank you!
I bought the tripod stands for the handle bars. They work great. Maybe deflate the tire to take it off.
Great video! Followed it step by step and it worked beautifully to change my freewheel! Thanks! My gears match my motor speed pretty well now...
You’re welcome. I’m glad you found it helpful.
Thanks, fixing back tire flats not one video covers that notched spacer and how it should be placed back when putting wheel back on frame
Tip, Two small crescent wrenches on the back of the flat part of the frame act as handles. wheel will fall right in. Having a second pair of hands is ideal.
Yes! I look up tire changes for the future and it scared me some not all people need a frame spreader im low im the tool area!

Thanks so much! I changed mine out without a hitch.
Did you consider changing the front chain ring instead? It's a 51T which on a regular bike would be the biggest of a 3 ring set. I'm rarely on the big ring on my bikes and only used for speed going downhill.
I think the front for the Lectric's are 52T.
I think you are right it is a 52t. Also I stated the factory freewheel is a 13-28 I’m my video but it is actually a 14-28.
Will adopt this on my ado a20+ wich has a cassette one. I felt always that the transmission ratio for gear 7 is too high. Especially when unlocked to higher speeds than 25. Thx
Great job, buddy. I changed mine a few months ago and would never go back.
Thanks Jerry. Right after I took it for the first spin I realized I should’ve changed it along time ago LOL
Two motor wheel spokes broke from the part opposite of the nipple on my Letric XP 2.0 is it temporarily safe to ride until I get it repaired?
I wouldn’t recommend it. You risk breaking more.
Great video, very helpful, just swapped out my freewheel on the XP 2.0, amazing improvement!
Should we be putting grease inside the freewheel for lubricant?
Love all your videos. I have ordered 2 xp stepthru bikes.
Thank you!

There is a guy who made a spreader out of a 4 inch turnbuckle with cane feet that fits between the frame easily and holds it open. He posted it on TH-cam as well
Yea I seen that but I don’t need it because I can easily remove and install my wheel without the spreader.

Thanks Chris! I love the upgrade, it makes a big difference at higher speeds.
Wow that’s crazy that you would need a new wheel? Let me know when you get it if it fixes your problem I’m curious. Thanks
Great video and amazing camera work man... thanks for the information and good examples of what to do and not to do!
Thanks!
Yes that is correct and I did snug it up with the tool slightly. What spacer are you talking about…the outside one?
@@JeremiahMcintosh I was referring to the "shim" that you weren't exactly sure what it's called that was put on right after the freewheel to prevent the axle from spinning in the frame and goes on with the little tab in the same orientation as the cutout on the axle. In the video, you spun the freewheel on the threads and then the video went right to the installation of that "shim" so I wasn't sure if you tightened the freewheel with the freewheel removal tool and crescent wrench or if finger tight was all that was necessary.
Oh ok. Yes I just snugged it up slightly with the tool.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Sounds great! I'll likely be doing this upgrade if and when I get my 2.0 bikes. Now that it sounds like China is going into another lockdown because of Covid, who know when bikes will be shipped to the States.

Is it possible to change main crankset with bigger ( more teeth ), also to achieve better pedaling?
BR
is it good for the aventon ebikes
Great videos, I have subbed! Question though, can you upgrade the 3.0 tires on the new Lectric bike to 4.0 tires on the same rims? Also where could I find a set of the blue rims that you see on the Sondor Fold ebike?
Not sure about the rims but no you cannot upgrade the 2.0 to 4 inch tires because the tires would be too wide to fit in the frame and forks.
I have the xp lite with 16t and would like a 11 t what's your advice on making these changes ?
Awesome job! Very complete presentation. I have two bikes coming for my wife and myself in May. I have ordered a new freewheel for my bike. Can’t imagine my wife needing the higher gear. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial. You made it look easy.
Thanks John although I messed up in my video on the ending and also I said the factory one has a 13 -28 but it come factory with a 14-28t 😩
@@JeremiahMcintosh No big deal. We all make mistakes. The good guys just correct their error and move on. Just like you have done.
Is there an advantage of getting a 11-32T?
yes the 11 to 32 will allow you to pedal up deeper inclines easier with the 32 tooth sprocket and will allow you to maintain pressure on the pedals at higher speeds with the 11 tooth sprocket.
Did you just hand tighten the new freewheel?
No I snugged it up with the tool.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I hand tighten freewheels, the pedalling will torque it up
Great job on this. Where is the new ride video for this?
Should have it up in a few days or so I’ve been working on it.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thanks. How was the first ride? Did the shifting sinc?
Yes all the shifting actually worked just as good as before and it was awesome!
The new 6th and 7th gear is perfect for the bike!
@@JeremiahMcintosh Outstanding! I am looking forward to the video. I get my bike next week.
Another great video. Thanks for the “just the facts” approach.

That’s great I’m glad you got it fixed! Happy riding!
I have an 11-32 not 34
There's no level ground in my neighborhood and I'm not a small guy.

Are most freewheels the same size thread on different ebikes? I let my cousin ride with me on my speedrid and he got in to some muddy water and got sand in the bearings im going to take it apart and try and clean it out but a freewheel is cheap to just replace the whole thing if they are all pretty much the same .. i am a tractor mechanic so it shouldnt be hard to change out i ordered the tool to do it so i can at least clean the one on it
So far all the freewheels I’ve changed have been the same.
