@@meghanasundar9672 but a bit too late for that. He has been in the industry for over 2 decades now I guess. When somebody says Jayam Ravi, we immediately picture him. Changing it so late might not be good for his career. My personal opinion, Ravi Mohan sounds like some TV serial or Telugu character actor from the 80s more than a star like him. Vikram is still called Chiyaan from Sethu. Its a brand you don't wake up one day and change the name all of a sudden.
4:13 I hope Nithya will stop the dilemma of whether to continue acting or to have a normal life. She should embrace the talent she has in acting and should continue with this profession for another decade.
My GOD!! What a stunningly expressive review! His way of saying it is a 'blxxdy good film' Makes one want to drop everything and run to the theater! Watched the review 3 times!!!
At this point the female director success rate in tamil is close to a 100%. Movies being guaranteed hit. The only misfire I know of is Minmini and that too was passable. Hoping for more women to step up and make movies in interesting perspective.
V Priya, Halitha shameem, Sudha Kongara, Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Gayathri Pushkar - believe it could be around 80% but much better than male directors!
Other things being equal - if 10 men and 10 women directors were to make movies, relatively speaking ('relatively' being the underlining word), chances are that women directors' films will be financially more viable, more memorable, more relatable, and most of all, more sensible. Having said, BTW, it doesn't take away anything from male directors.
How is Kadhalika Neramilai, an urban film that talks about gay marriage and unwed moms, even relatable to the Tamil public in any way? This is just an okayish film that will be forgotten in a few weeks. Even Nithya, who has the most screentime, doesn't have a memorable role.
Loved this film! We really need these warm romcoms back. The casting was perfect and to casually have an LGBT character in a mainstream Tamil movie takes guts. Is a brilliant move tbh.
Just watched the mvi ..and it is such a heartfelt beautiful drama.. lovely complex themes touched upon by the director ..to be Frank, i didn't expect such a nuanced writing from her...huge respect @ Mrs. Krithiga Udhayanidhi..! And watta soundtrack and bgm ..ARR my love and inspiration.. Godbless!!!
Honestly, this film is just okay. It's a slow burn with some major pacing issues in both halves. Nithya's got more screen time, but Ravi steals the show. Critics might love it, but it's not really for the average Tamil moviegoer. It's a one-time watch on OTT, but don't bother hitting the theaters. On the bright side, it's a mainstream Tamil film that actually portrays a gay character (Vinay) positively and tackles unwed mothers.
Ravi Mohan sounds weird after all these years. Entire TamilNadu knows him just by the name Jayam Ravi. He should have continued with that.
May be astrologer solli mathirupaaru.
I mean associating a movie before his name can be quite putting him in a box, no? After all, He is more than his job.

He changed doesn't mean pepole will call that, Pepole will still adress as jayam ravi
@@ananthakrishnan4090 chill bro, its okay, if that's his decision, let it be...no need to get so invested in that

Beautiful review !! It's an incredible harmless film really!!
BR observations are sheer poetry.. almost always better than the art he endearingly analyses..
