@@apb38 you could be right but how much are ypu spending on swapping it can't be free and catl are now saying their batteries will have 600000 8 year warranty and should have 85 percent compacity
@deanh5760 but if you keep the tesla for 9 or 10 years, which would you rather. Also you don't have to swap all the time, if you've got solar, you'd with the sun most of the time if you could.
Deanh5760, CATL has nothing yet. They are planning to build only 1k swap stations by the end of the year. It is not a lot. It will take time. NIO will have 5k stations and many superchargers and charging stations. NIO is in a driver seat here.
Wow! Over 100k RMB price difference if customers choose ONVO with BaaS. It means ONVO is on more than 1/3 cheaper. There's no doubt that ONVO will take a good market share this year.
@loginoff2007 Great points, I agree. The lofty NIO groups deliveries targets for 2025 & with Firefly & NIO'S being upgraded to NT2.5 refreshed, I would argue are more substantial upgrades than Tesla did to the Juniper since March 2020.. Honesty I can thank Tesla for keeping the NIO'S NT2.0 models relevant until they hit NT2.5 later this year and NT3.0 probably in 2026 or 2027!! Nobody looks at it like this 😃
Hey Peter, I agree. The NT2.5 is a bigger upgrade than Tesla's, because NIO will be changing the hardware as well. No more Nvidia Orin chips will be needed. We will see much better margins. And with NT3.0 all NIO's 7/8 series models will get a new (skyride) suspension probably. Dang! NIO's tech is truly impressive and they are ahead of the game.
@loginoff2007 Absolutely correct, As good as NIO is they are intentionally held back for geopolitical & actually being so good.. These guys don't want the bar to be raised so high!!
Mr.P. The #1 thing I was looking for was the new model Y juniper charging architecture.. Is it 400v, 800v, or 900v? Looked around a bit & couldn't find it. The fastest charger speed is 250kw. To me this is the most important thing. Range of course was the second most important. Styling is personal preference, they both look pretty good tbh. ONVO L60 has price, options, sustainability, & charging speed. ONVO L60 still looks far too good for the money over the new model Y juniper imho..
Chery and a growing number of other Chinese EV makers joining the NIO - ONVO - Firefly battery swapping means the END of Tesla’s desirability. Tesla is two or more years behind in terms of technology.
I wont buy an EV until battery swappable or easily replaceable here in USA. Changing a battery out of warranty shouldn't cost you 50% of cost of vehicle.
Definitely love the Onvo and I am Tesla S driver since April 2018. I have heard the Onvo is coming to UK soon and so I am waiting for that to come. That will be next car inshallah.
Onvo should do better, It is cheaper with more option and same efficiency. Of course let's not forget swapping and the option to rent a battery. Even though I like the Tesla, the Onvo has a definitive edge. Good comparison, thanks for the video.
Such a massive price difference should make the L60 an easy choice but Tesla's brand is so strong. I actually thought it looks a lot like the Zeekr 007 from the front. I've been seeing quite a lot of L60's on the road and was surprised how big it looks.
As I navigate the stock market and investing space for the first time, I've come to appreciate the significance of having a professional guide, and I feel privileged to have had the chance to learn from a trusted stock market trader and analyst.
I will say this I thought the worst part about any Tesla was the headlights in the tail lights they were completely ugly. So this is definitely an improvement.
ONVO will DESTROY model Y and was not upgraded. I don't want to think when INVO will receive the restyling 😍🔝❤️. Need to be not very smart to buy the model Y in China instead ONVO or other brands like ZEEKR, XPENG or XIAOMI
The price of the 2025 Tesla Model Y is expected to range from approximately $46,000 to $58,000, depending on the trim and options. In contrast, the Onvo L60 is priced between $21,000 and $36,000, making the price difference between these two models significant. Therefore, I believe the Onvo L60 will not be greatly impacted by the release of the new Model Y. However, Nio’s ES6 may be more affected by the launch of the new Tesla Model Y. The starting price of the Nio ES6 is approximately $46,300 for the 75-kWh model and $54,300 for the 100-kWh model. For customers opting for Nio’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) option, which involves renting the battery, the starting price for both the 75-kWh and 100-kWh versions drops to $36,700.
Wish we could purchase Nio vehicles in North America. I am a Tesla owner and can’t stand Elon plus the Nio vehicles offer so much more tech and options compared to Tesla.
Model Y will of course sell like hot cakes. But if Tesla has no "Model Q" (low budget model) up their sleeve, this company might have a lot to loose in this upcoming year. The expectations are sky high and so far we only know that the Cybercab will be the next product which will not be out before the end of 2026.
In 6 months we will all know if Onvo is a winner or a loser....for now, Onvo is just warming up. And since the Tesla Y doesn't have swap technology, you don't need to be too smart about who has the advantage. So who else wants to buy and wait to charge the battery for 40 minutes while Onvo takes care of it in 3 minutes? I certainly don't, and I hope that the Chinese are a smart people and that they know how to count 2 and 2 and calculate a winning combination for them. 😉🫠 NIO/Onvo/Firefly=Blue Sky Coming 🤗🥰
I think the Y Facelift is by far not enough. Onvo I think looks much better and is the much better deal in terms of price/quality/amenities AND it can swap. Theoretically it can be equipped with the 150 kWh pack where with Tesla you are doomed to the same battery for ever.
Random question Mr. P but is there any way to verify the EV to ICE vehicles on the road now in China? I’m just curious about the percentage in order to verify air quality ie smog & airborne contaminants. I was blown away at how much clearer the skies were when practically everyone was in lockdown back in 2020 & there weren’t as many vehicles on the roads.
Was in Shanghai 2 weeks ago & you're right. The air quality has improved overall.. Still far from perfect, I am from Vancouver so yeah.. Air quality here is second to none for an international city, so they aren't comparable.. But remarkable improvement in Shanghai since about a decade ago.. 👍
From an economical stand point ONVO wins hands down. Not sure how many people want to plug in to charge. With ONVO you have the option to do both. PRICE ONVO Status symbol I drive a Tesla. I notice all the Tesla drivers in the USA think their better than everyone else. That's from my perspective. Of course I drive a 10 yr old minivan.
Don't even know why Tesla wanted to start a price war in China.. which is famous for fighting price wars.... But Tesla has an advantage in which the company can sell its overly-priced stocks to go compete and sell their car at a loss to perform predatory pricing. Not sure if the authorities will turn a blind eye because they always let market do what they want on its own. I just hope to see Onvo hits 20k a month as they targeted from before. Production capacity first and let the market give its feedback.
Tesla sales will gradually decline in China, NIO and other brands are superior in technology and performance. Tesla did not improve the technology of Model Y, they only changed the appearance of the car, in other words he only made a cosmetic change to the car and that was it.
@@deanh5760 it took 17 years s of losses to make a profit. Ten billion in Free government mandated carbon payments included for free money to Tesla. Nio is ten years old. They'll be fine. Tesla sales growth was negative this year, that is pathetic. Already peaked.

Just wondering how the Onvo wanted to make any profit. Tesla is good at making the manufacturing efficient. Despite it they have about 15% net margin. Onvo price is about Tesla minus 2x net margin which is huge difference. No way to make any profit here, just grab a market share. Seems elimination phase leveling up in 2025, but Tesla relying on branding power trying to stay away as long as possible. We do not see any car maker stock going up until over, hope this is clear.
Apparently Onvos are made more efficiently, who knows. Onvos are only slightly cheaper than Tesla MY. Because the swap infrastructure is already there, Onvo could be profitable sooner.
The price and swapping makes the onvo an easy choice. I feel like they will not be competing because of the price difference.
The Onvo is not only better build but has also better quality materials and a lot more value for your money
