I have to agree with Troy. This is your best score. The main theme, the boss fights, and my favorites are actually those special separate "musical universes." The cello-sounding bass. And there are so many moments in the game that would not have been the same without it. The opening notes of Floating Isle perfectly set-up that final encounter. When the Hunter is surrounded by the spirits before the final confrontation, I got goosebumps. Basically I just loved it top to bottom. Thank you! Can't wait for what comes next.
Absolutely incredible. I've never seen a composer that can make their music just pull people into the game this well before. Let alone keeping the intensity of the battles, the tranquility of the spirit realm, and the resolve at the end of the battle seem so big. A truly amazing work as always.
Easily the best track on the album. Probably the greatest thing that I see you do time and time again is establish a sensitive, intelligent musical climax that brings every single idea together... and it stands out in its own way. It's the highest point of tension narratively, and the music should reflect it like a mirror. Your work for this piece (in the same vein as "Apotheosis") goes above and beyond all of that. Bravo.
Oh my goodness. Thank you so much for your work, can't wait to study this piece... I still remember the day I found your As Noted series: I actually think this is one of, if not the best series of videos I've ever found on TH-cam (and god knows how much time I've spent here). Obviously we all love and admire your work as a composer, but I'd like to mention the insane production quality about the videos in themselves: beautiful background animations, top notch engraving, insightful annotations about implementation, full 4k and LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL CARET! Am I doing too much? More seriously, know that I'm very very grateful for all what you are doing (especially in these less inspiring times), for sure I'm not the only aspiring composer in that case. Thank you Austin!
Thank you for the kindness!!! We work hard on these and credit where it's due, Dallas Crane is essentially the sole reason these are as good as they are. He is the one who takes the time to put my sheet music together in this format, animate everything, choose video clips for the background, etc etc. I always have a million notes for him while we work, so he also gets points for having lots of patience! :)
What a masterpiece, so powerful! Thanks a lot for the As Noted series, I think I will go through all of the videos again. Will listen the hell out of this soundtrack on Spotify 😄✨
Would love to see you cover one of the tracks from the bigger puzzle rooms. For ex: An Empty Monastery. The track, "Sauro" would be another cool one to see :o
You have some great scores, just watched the podcast where you talk how about how non English people start jumping when they see Troy bakers name in the credits ! that was funny!
I love your content, (Haha sorry for the many comments...) It's a bit of an unusual request considering but can you do an As Noted for Redwood Steppes? It's a favorite of mine from The Pathless~ Thanks!
This is cool, plus, while I was out for dinner with my auntie and my now-widowed grandmother, I was thinking of doing the music for a spinoff Sing series focusing on Porsha Crystal (both the songs and the score; the latter being faithful to the style of Joby Talbot while also having a quirky influence from Mothersbaugh and Giacchino) since a tweet of that idea looked cool.
This is immaculate.
No other word for it
Unbelievable. The mastery on display here is just amazing.
Its so interesting seeing the music "As Noted". especially for this piece which is one of my favorites from the game. Thank you!

You're too kind. I can tell you what's coming next is ... NOTHING like PATHLESS :) Stay tuned for previews, As Noted and other tidbits
@@awintory Sounds exciting! I'm in.
Agreed. This score has a million colors and it never gets diluted

I should also congratulate the musicians who worked so hard to play the composition.
Showing the music sheet this way is amazing, you see a little bit behind the magic of music making.
Ahh I was hoping you'd cover this one!
This was probably the most visually pleasing boss fight I've ever played in a video game
Hands down the most epic moment in a video game I played last year. Fantastic work!
holy crap... wow.
If I can ever compose half as good as this I'll be happy, absolutely wild stuff.

I love this track a lot, probably one of my favorite Final Boss themes. Same with the entire OST. You did a fabulous job
It's so incredible to see the full piece like this! 😍
This is some good music to listen to when you work!
Oh my goodness.
Thank you so much for your work, can't wait to study this piece...

Simply sublime..
Dig it
Cool! Very grateful for showing us details of the score and memories of the game :)
The utilization of the Alash Ensemble as the base of this OST is enrapturing and primal. I cannot stop listening to this or Journey.

Now I want to see a live performance
Would love to see you cover one of the tracks from the bigger puzzle rooms.

1:46 listen how the oboe crossfades into the dizi throughout the phrase. Amazing mixing work!
:)
Can we talk about the cross-bar triplets over 7/8 and how they resolve perfectly
Yes, it's absolutely amazing!!
I may have to play this pretty soon, it's pretty spectacular. Good job man.
incredible scoring, Austin! I love this soundtrack it's amazing!!!!
Oh my gosh this is absolutely insane everyone performing nailed it!!

Can I ask about the additional voices part? They don't seem to be singing as written, maybe a few octaves lower. Synth pads?
Great piece!
Alash Ensemble lyrics in Russian letters... Nice, I guess Ima sing along : 0

Mongolian uses Cyrillic too, but they also have a few extra characters! I think it's 38 total or something
@@DallasCrane Oh, nice to know! Yes, we only have 33 )
Really cool! Do they translate to anything in particular?
@@starflowersea6031 Yes :)
