Man that high elf general must have been a raw recruit. He managed that army poorly
He underestimated the foul Skaven. that's all. Remember, once a HE general underestimated The Goblin Grom the Paunch.
Why didn't the Elf cavalry flank and deal with those ranged attackers? Then the dragons fly in and just skip right over the rat cannons and guns too? No tactics...
These battles are just cinematic, Skaven will flatten pretty much any race with the minimal imput given

@@jangotherango7250 the Skav could but they are to fractured into many clans fighting each other but if they did unite they would overrun the world. They are like the tyrannids in number as they multiply too quick as you would expect rats too. Also they are heavily industrialized elves don’t stand a chance with swords and shields and slow reproduction as they are almost immortal. Send all the dragons you want but a hail of thousands of rounds of bullets will shred them to pieces lol
Agree with you here, he ignored the rattling guns completely. The scaven side targeted the elves archer line, once the archers were gone it was over. The dragons could have at lease done a breath attack before landing, better yet if they focused on the scaven ranged units.
Never expect a computer to do humans work.
This is why we should never depend on computers!
What a waste of dragons! They should have taken out the Skraven arty and shooters from behind and THEN gone into battle melee...always sad to see how the Empire and Elves lose to a bunch of rats.

We can technically guess who wins by looking at army compositions..mostly spears and high elf commander was on foot.. and the skaven commander on a big mount .. and my guess was right.. skaven won at the end

Well, also crappy tactic from the Elves. Dragons and cav should have been sent against the skaven distance units, to crush these rattling guns and catapults at the beginning. Elves would probably have won, or lasted far more lol
It's so funny how the commander was in a middle of summoning a spell, and he got jumped on. The rat was probably like No Spells For You.
Uneven battle made sure the skaven won not a fair battle the heavys arrived to late poor video make the battles fair
Nice battle and surprised, been ages since you have shown a "flanking move" on your battles (the last time I saw one was on a orc battle using orc cavalry) but poor dragons, they were just sent to the meatgrinder without hesitation and concern for the rat gatling guns.
And those big rats, the ones with the big claws, they sure are tanky.

If the elven dragons were trained to attack from the air, swoop in at 100mph the Skaven ground force would be obliterated......and aren't dragons suppose to blow fire??
Why didn't he send one of his dragons to the Ratling gunners? Just one would have locked them in melee and eventually killed them.
HE Cavalry was worse than useless not going after skaven gunners

So I can understand cinematic shots and everything, but come on, the dragons flew right over the Skaven weapons teams and then get focus fired down as soon as they touchdown. Not to mention you gave the skaven the thing thing abominations from the beginning, why not give the elves a fighting chance, or give them the ability to shut down the weapons teams. Just seems too one sided.
It's not supposed to be a "who would win" video. It's just cinematic story telling.

If the dragons take out the rattling guns and plague catapults instead of ignoring them and allowing them to continue to fire, then the HE likely wins this. Not sure on the decision process there.

Yes I agree, but if this was a reality where one bullet kills one person, those gatling guns would kill a dragon in mere seconds, its like anti air and anti everything in this universe, the Skaven is way to advanced for the other races if you think about it, was hoping for more poison globadiers, but yeah sure in this game id attack the back row, was expecting the Eshin to attack from the back too.@@TrackerRoo
@@TrackerRoono because it is so basic that it can destroy your army, you never know if the skaven will hide an anti large or a flame thrower in his Line just to kill the flying unit
Of course HE should be going for the skaven back line. One dragon would be enough. Don't look for any meaningful tactics here: Just some visual fun.

Ahh I see y'all took the "Battle of Winterfell" approach. Useless cavalry, Dragons came in hella late and weren't used to disrupt the artillery or ranged units....those Elves were wasted

It's as if the commander makes a direct mistake so that the tough opponent loses spectacularly! Will the cavalry stop to fight the infantry instead of pouring out the Skaven artillery? For example, I once asked an uploader who he was with when the human team lost due to incorrect tactical moves. He chose rats...🤕
bro the absolute brain dead lack of tactics makes your videos infuriating to watch. It’s not like you have to micromanage them but this is the approach I’d take to RTS games when I was 12
No good Hammer and anvil from the dragon knights. No breath weapon from the dragons on the big masses. SOO many rat ogres and Thing Things...That Skaven army would beat any army played as poorly as the elves were 🤣

Seems to me like the skaven were made to win this. Why not deploy the fire lancers in a flanking position and have the dragons immediately assault their fire line. Elves could have won that easily but you gave them 3 ballista and inferior tactics. Why did the dragons wait til everyone was mostly slaughtered before joining the fray.....

love the battle part of your vids but the beginning is way too long. we already know what all the units look like marching. its nice to have a brief cinematic but multiple minutes of just looking at people walk is boring

Смешно, что драконы кинуты не на машины и пулемёты скавенов. Причём заранее, чтобы защитить своих лучников от расстрела. А в гущу пехотного боя, когда уже ничего нельзя было изменить. Так воевать нельзя. В данной битве скавенам дали незаслуженное преимущество.
It's high time the elves upgraded their arsenal. If a bunch of mutated rats can field gatling guns with unlimited ammo and NBC weaponry, then elves should have mecha and energy weapons. Better stet up.

The High Elf styles look really amazing in this game. It's all so detailed, so ornate. The buildings, the armors & weapons it's everything you would expect from the High Elves.
I wish Elder Scrolls Online's High Elves would look a bit more like this

@@Zen-751 The Aldmeri queen looks like a regular unimportant npc, she doesn't look like the high queen of the mighty and magical High Elves at all, the armor styles of the regular AD soldier npc's in Cyrodiil look more royal. The High Elf buildings are also a big fail it doesn't look superior or magical at all 🙄🤣

I always see comments about utilizing Total War tactics in these videos and like, has anyone realized how uncinematic and overall boring that is with this style of video? Like seriously go watch total war tournaments and let’s plays, the tactics in those that are the “best” usually either A require a lot of micromanagement which would mean less cinematic viewings and B usually means the battle ends relatively quickly.
I dunno maybe it’s just me but I really don’t understand coming to a cinematic video and expecting the best tactics and not just an overall cinematic experience.
Watch some of Totalwar Battle Clips videos and tell me that you can't use tactics and still have them be cinematic.
But sometimes the cinematic experience is ruined when units are behaving in totally illogical ways though. Not asking for a ton of grand stratagems in these battles, just don't want to see the majestic dragons fly right into the firing lines when they could've targeted the guns first. BTW I still think Gamethumb's videos are AWESOME. There are other channels out there that put in a lot less effort into these videos, I admire GT's productions immensely.

Watching those knife-eared f**ks eaten alive by the unanswered arty and missile fire was great. Also love how well your vids point out the laughable models that CA has put out (those clipping errs are great, especially the bolt thrower member putting his hand thru his own head.) Keep up the brilliant work.
