I worked with liquid steel for 29 years. One melt 350 tons. The plant produces about 10 million tons of steel per year. In case of danger, always run to the safe side and only then look back at what happened. Sometimes when going to work, an inner voice tells you that something is going to happen at work today... And it does. This is called intuition based on vast experience. At work, like a pilot in a dogfight, you must constantly turn your head and constantly monitor the situation around you. Greetings from Russia

Memories of my days in the 1970's as a graduate trainee in the UK steel industry including driving slag pot and molten pig iron/torpedo car trains.

wonderful video, only thing missing is the wonderful smell of a steel mill,
some think I am crazy for liking, but it brings back wonderful memories of living in a steel city...

850V @ 135,000A = 114 Megawatts!!! The conductors and other electrical equipment to power the electrodes must be insanely massive. Let's hope they've invested in a solar and/or wind farm to offset some of that energy expenditure.

I can't even grasp how many amps that is. The electric use in a steel mill is making some utility company happy.

This shown is a AC furnace, not DC . We could melt 200 Ton in 45 minutes.

Why add dialog when it's not even going to match what's happening?
