    Location
    1. The Tomb of the Prophets is located at the top of the Mount of Olives at the beginning of the Triumphal Entry descent.
    2. Just above it is a popular viewing terrace of Old City Jerusalem.
    Historical Background
    1. The site has 50 burial niches and two adjoining burial caves.
    2. According to books, artifacts, inscriptions, and Jewish tradition, the tombs are those of the prophets Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, who lived in the 6th and 5th centuries BC.
    3. Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi are the last books of the Old Testament.
    4. Both Jews and Christians venerate the site as the tombs of these prophets.
    5. Inscriptions indicate that the site was also used for the burial of Christians in the Byzantine period.
    6. The property is owned by the Russian Orthodox church but is overseen by a local Arab who lives on top of the tomb.

I was on the Mount of Olives during the last Sukkot and walked alone down to Tomb of the Prophets. This good man, the tour guide, took me with no one else through the tomb and was very gracious explaining the history of the tomb and more personal conversations. I was honored and humbled by his courtesy. I thank you good man, and may Ya bless you.

Cant get enough of your content. Us Christians need more old testament knowledge, we tend to gloss over much of it, if we are to understand our Messiah and his Revelation then we need to understand scripture in original language history and context. Yeshua/Jesus tore down the phony man made religion, he reminded us of Gods laws and showed us how to execute that in life, he renewed the blood covenent so we may live. All we have to do is turn from sin and believe, Amazing! Thank you Pastor!

Thank you my soul needed that ?.
It was good to return and see a old face of a kind man.
I had stood on the mount of olives and as I stood my head cleared and as I looked around I asked what am I doing here and why did my father die ?.
    (Strange)
I was confused and held in a place that I did not understand.
Tears came to my eyes and I asked where should I go what should I do ?.
The Lord made me to look to my right and said go back to the tomb of the prophets ?.
I did and I spoke to Jameel.
It was not the conversation to which you have just watched ?.
I had tears in my eyes as I told him that the suffering that had happened to him was my fault.
He smiled as he said do you want a prayer ?.
I said yes but I did not know how.
    I was broken.

Thankyou for these wonderful videos of our future dwelling place; We, believers in Messiah of the Abrahamic promise, part of the commonwealth of Israel, have a spiritual inheritance; although many haven’t visited Israel, we will dwell in His Kingdom, Zion, something which far exceeds our human understanding…….
I love prophecy, so much of it is based on judgment; Judgment “is necessary” (Matthew 24) to birth the Kingdom, just as a woman giving birth who gives new life; John takes a lot of Revelation from the prophets and Genesis; to those who are in despair, losing hope, our reassurance is already promised in Revelation 20-21; whoever endures, will receive the crown of life”…… not enduring merely just to survive, but enduring in the fullness of the Will of G-d 🇮🇱🙏🇮🇱🙏

Well, James said, "Let not many of you be teachers" but then what do you do with the Great Commission? "Go ye therefore and teach all nations..."James' theology is pretty dubious. He was a major Judaizer in the first century so I consider all that when I read his epistle.

    • @HolyLandSite
      @HolyLandSite  ปีที่แล้ว

I don't think there is a conflict between the inspired book of James and the Great Commission. There is a difference from one who is a teacher (pastor, professor, Bible Study Leader, and so forth, and one who is able to share the Gospel.

    • @GizmoFromPizmo
      @GizmoFromPizmo ปีที่แล้ว

@@HolyLandSite - That by itself wouldn't phase me. It's easy enough to get around it but when you compound it with the other theological errors of that book, it becomes a torrent of difficulties. Don't get me wrong, you don't get any better than,
"With whom there is no variableness neither shadow of turning."
(or whatever the exact quote is). One of the most beautiful hymns ever written contains that sentiment ("Great is Thy Faithfulness", by name).
      1. God doesn't tempt us with evil. That's false on its face. What was that Tree in the Garden all about? EVERYTHING is a temptation to not trust God. How can anyone who has spent any time at all on earth say, "God doesn't tempt us"?
      2. A man is justified by works and not by faith only. EXCUSE ME??? I mean I've seen theologians do doctrinal cartwheels to reconcile that one but I cannot jibe their protestations with the absolute CONTEXT of what James wrote.
Really, the list goes on. Here's one that I dearly love:
      3. Lust LEADS to sin... Is that what Jesus taught? Is that what the Law teaches? The Apostle Paul said it most beautifully, "For I had not known lust except the Law said, 'Thou shalt not covet.'" Paul was an absolute genius. His theology is incomparable. His theology agrees with Jesus and does not disagree, like Jesus' brother's does. Lust doesn't LEAD to sin. Lust IS sin.
Some of these errors are just one notch out of phase.
And I'm not even out of the first two chapters of this epistle. You stumble over error after error after error in this thing and yet, because the author is related to Jesus, we somehow make excuses for the doctrine contained therein.
I mean, be honest. Would you trust any preacher who tried to sell you Justification by works and not by faith only? James says it and it's okay but if ANY preacher said it, you'd blast him with Romans chapter 4 and other clear passages that teach to the contrary. But James says it so we snap into action and twist his very words to try and make them fit Justification by Faith Only.
If we were no respecters of persons (like James tells us we ought not to be) then we would condemn the doctrine of that book based on its literal content and not on who the author is related to. Or so it seems to me.

Did he say that Jesus' tomb was on the Mount of Olives?

No, I did not say that Jesus' tomb was on the Mount of Olives. It would be where the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is today.

Zecharia 14 doesn't say anything about the Messiah's tomb being on the Mount of Olives. It doesn't talk about His resurrection. I mean, it does if you read all that into it but you can't get that out of reading the context of the words that are there. Honestly, it can say that the CIA downed the World Trade Center if you read that into it. The bible can say anything you want, if you read a bunch of junk into it.
It talks about the Mount of Olives being split (like it's on a fault line or something), where one side of the Mount goes north and the other side goes south. It talks about the Feast of Tabernacles and all the nations flocking to Jerusalem for the feast. Christians can write that off as the nations coming to the New Jerusalem because of the preaching of the resurrected Christ Jesus. (Jerusalem being another word for salvation).
It talks about horses, mules, and camels being significant forms of transportation so either we will be thrown back into the Stone Age before all this takes place or else the time for fulfillment of that prophecy has long since passed. I choose to believe the latter.

Thanks for commenting but we never said the Messiah's tomb was on the Mount of Olives. Just the tombs of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.

@@HolyLandSite - Okay, I rewatched that part and you're right. He doesn't say that the Messiah would be resurrected but that the resurrection of the dead would take place there at the Mount of Olives. I misunderstood.
