I could imagine the prototype Heavygun using the Jegan's side skirt grenade rack with 3 hand grenades since there's probably a huge surplus but then AE developed smaller grenades appropriate for the Heavygun's smaller stature so that it can carry more
The whole "Better tech along with being more fuel-efficient" thing was why the characters of Beast Wars were smaller than their Great War predecessors. That and there was an energy crisis at the time.

Underrated grunt suit right here. When I first saw it pop up in F91 I immediately fell in love like: "whoa?! What's that? Some kind of souped up Jegan...?"
I never really think of f91 and victory as UC cannon anymore because of Unicorn The federation had new and improved mass produced mobile suits The Rezal Was the reason why i do not think that the whole idea That the Jegan was still being used but the Rezal was not also Why was the heavygun the only mobile suit that was up to date
The reason the Heavygun made up bulks for federation MS than the G cannon because it was not a mummy killer with his shells and leaving baby alone. 6.22 Is approximately the scene that occur.
That Heavygun full Equipment reminds me of the Full Armor Gundam Thunderbolt version because it has extra weapons and a surprise attack on the enemies.

I was lead to this video by TH-cam and it refers to a different set of MS. Could you please do a development history on the FA Gundam, Heavy Gundam, FA Gundam Ground Type, and others in the Full Armor project by the Federation?
Miniturized mobile suites come at the cost of armor, and matinance costs. This means that in the long run miniaturized mobile suties will end up costing you more in the long run.
The fact that SNRI just show up, poop out a first product that ended up lasting for decades that they can't even MANUFACTURE, and just thoroughly trouncing the AE presentation is hilarious. One part Accuracy International fiasco, two parts Gundam bullshit, one complete punchline.
It would have been interesting to see this smaller mobile suits fighting against the mobile suit of the One Year War and show the advantage of mobility and a harder to hit body.
Two questions: 1-why does the gundam f90 look like the alex? 2-"Beam Launcher"? wouldn't 'Energy cannon' be more appropriate(but then again,i dont work at sunrise lol)?
Late UC content is harder for me to get into. It's pretty obscure and it can be difficult to find the content. I want more of the era to get anime or at least for the Manga to get official international re-releases. I'm not comfortable digging through some piracy site to find some old fan scans of them from dubious sources. And I prefer to enjoy content in a way that benefits the creators, if only slightly. Speaking of which, if you did lore videos like this just a little more often, say at least 1-2 times a week, I'd do that joining thing for your channel in a heart beat! But even as is, I try to at least like everything you post. And when I say "like this" I don't mean only super in depth development history vids only, I mean just lore focused videos, like this series, or even your QOTDs or What if Amuro Got the Alex - that series I'd love to see more of, I love what ifs like that! - or even if you just did some off the top of your head "Let's just talk about this cool Gundam thing" videos. :)
I'm surprised that the RGM-111 Hardygun, from Silhouette F91, didn't make it into the Heavygun development history. Height: 15.9m Weight: 9.8t Full equipment Weight: 24.1t Generator: 3,540KW Thrusters: 19,920kg x3 + 9,980kg x4 Armaments: Vulcan Gun x2, Mega Machine Cannon x2, Triple Grenade Rack x2, Double Beam Gun x2, Beam Saber, Beam Rifle and a Beam Launcher on the backpack.
That's because the Hardygun is actually developed from the F-71 G-Cannon, and not the Heavygun itself. It shares some similar looking armor components, but the internal stuff is all developed from the G-Cannon.
well say what you want about the heavygun it along with the jegan are still 2 of my all time favorite grunt suits that and like stated in the video beargus was a greater pilot than he proclaimed to be
@@robertdrexel2043 thats what the translated write up on Zeonic Translations about it says. And there's official art of the Heavy Gun wearing parts of 120's armor cloak/shroud (Perhaps the Vaporizing Applique Armor being tested?) with art of the regular Heavy Gun and 120 surrounding the hybrid unit. So that does also reinforce that there is a connection. I'd assume the internals are similar but it's the armor that's completely redone.
Just dug a bit deeper and I can confirm that the MSA-120 is almost certainly an advanced version of the Heavygun. (Rough translation of the Japanese blurb I found: "Despite looking very unique, "it is said" that the MSA-120 is an upgraded/advanced version of the Heavygun". And in my experience "it is said" is commonly used when they want something to be true) As for the crazy appearance, it's apparently made by the Zeonic section of AE. Thanks for the comment. And even though it's too late to be included in this video, I'm going to do my best to remember to include it when I get to the F91 Development History (because the Vaporizing Applique Armor's concept was carried over to the F91)
@@kakarot197 it's a very small detail that is really easy thing to miss, so I don't blame ya. I didn't even remember it until the suit was shown in the video. And thank you for doing these vids.
There's something about late-UC Gundam suits that's just so unappealing to me. I don't think it's the size, necessarily. But I don't know, the designs are all so uninspired. It's as though Sunrise thought to themselves "we're never going to top CCA, so why even try".
Bandai was actually behind the shrinking of MS the cost of plastic went up and they wanted to sell smaller cheaper kits but not change the scale label. So for F91 technology pushed suits smaller and we got some very easy to.mold suits.

Honestly, it sounds really stupid to put the G-Cannon, an MS that is surprisingly far better than the Heavygun is put in back line combat duties instead. And I cannot imagine the MS developers despite acknowledging this but still anyway put them in artillery and just went like, *”NAH IT’LL BE FINE”*
Underrated grunt suit right here. When I first saw it pop up in F91 I immediately fell in love like: "whoa?! What's that? Some kind of souped up Jegan...?"
I forgot how interesting all of these machines were.....thankyou for your work and insight!
Awesome video! I love your development videos
Fuck yeah I just watched F91 and thought "These miniaturized suits deserve their own Development History."
The reason the Heavygun made up bulks for federation MS than the G cannon because it was not a mummy killer with his shells and leaving baby alone. 6.22 Is approximately the scene that occur.
I always thought of Heavy Arms when it come to barrage attacks
Maybe a video on the Formula series in the future? The MG F90 is a work of art and the A-to-Z Project makes the Strike series look cute.
Appreciate your videos
Finally the moment I've been waiting for ❤️
Hathaway suits looks lit (either the Federation suit to Mafty suits)
Anyway the full equipment type finally uses the apfsds.
That Heavygun full Equipment reminds me of the Full Armor Gundam Thunderbolt version because it has extra weapons and a surprise attack on the enemies.
Gotta love the zaku 1 Q, its probably my favourite neish msv mobile suit there is
The Jegan being replaced filled my heart with sadness, as it was my favorite non gundam mobile suit
I favored the Zaku 3, 4, and Geara Dogas over the Jegan and others in its line. I also favored the Hizack and the Marasai as well. I guess that makes me lean more towards Zeon MS.
@@LagunaShiroganeagreed, the Jegan feels meh, I feel a Federation hybrid small suit (GM3/Geara Doga Hybrid) would've been the better suit than the seafoam blandness of the Jegan
the G-Cannon aka that one Mobile suit that ejected spent casings so massive they crushed some random civvie.
I like the Heavygun in the same way I like the Zaku II- it may be lacking compared to top-of-the-line suits, but in the hands of a skilled pilot, they could still absolutely bring the hurt and keep up.
Love your channel ✌️ my fav always been ez8. d50 c is cool to but love jonhyblaze zuku2 but the amazing rx to zeta was a fav of mine to rock On. keep making amazing Gundam vids. go gundam. ✌️☕👍
Ive been waiting for this suit for a while.
I really like these late UC mass production units. I hope they get high grades in my lifetime.(Okay maybe my grandkids’ lifetime)
I remember the g cannon as the MS that dropped a shell casing on a woman’s head.
They should be reborn/100 model kits. Their designs and weaponery are outstanding to be seen and hold.
I think the Heavygun may have been the very first gunpla I ever built, and that was before I even knew what Gundam was.
Videos like these is why I come here.
RIP Birgit
Looking forward to the Javeline history kakrot
Heavygun: Designed, at least in part, for keeping rebellions from happening.
Also Heavygun: Is phased out by a new model so is sold on the civilian market to militias that may or may not have federation interests in mind.
HMMMMM NOTHING BAD COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN.
Late UC isn't my favorite timeline since it doesn't have the spacenoids dilemma, but at least they're having interesting smaller MS which also doesn't use big fuel pipe exposed all over its design.
Always liked how late UC grunts look
man, and i like the heavygun's design too... ;n;
personally i was expecting other development histories before this
the gm
the jegan
the dom
the gouf
the gelgoog
the methus
heck maybe even a general uc gundam development line that coveres the line of gundams we see (from OG to far in the future like the crossbone gundam)
Huh, a have a new found appretiation to birgit now, the guy push the heavygun so hard, crossbone vanguard suits being better, i'm not surprised cause they are probably some of the best quality when it comes to a late century suit
Amazing Loto.
We NEED a REMADE of this video with the f90ff manga notes
Keep any gundam material coming !
I like the design F71 and RGM 109 and very unique. Even they outdated.
I came here looking for development history on the Full Armor Gundam and the Heavy Gundam but didnt find one on your channel.
Fuck yeah! The best MP suits ever! Thank you!
It would have been interesting to see this smaller mobile suits fighting against the mobile suit of the One Year War and show the advantage of mobility and a harder to hit body.
Two questions:
1-why does the gundam f90 look like the alex?
I still wish we could get some modern high grades of these
Pretty cool video
FUCK YEAH, HEAVY GUN!
fave suit in F91
I'm surprised that the RGM-111 Hardygun, from Silhouette F91, didn't make it into the Heavygun development history.
Height: 15.9m
Weight: 9.8t
Full equipment Weight: 24.1t
Generator: 3,540KW
Thrusters: 19,920kg x3 + 9,980kg x4
Armaments: Vulcan Gun x2, Mega Machine Cannon x2, Triple Grenade Rack x2, Double Beam Gun x2, Beam Saber, Beam Rifle and a Beam Launcher on the backpack.
That's because the Hardygun is actually developed from the F-71 G-Cannon, and not the Heavygun itself. It shares some similar looking armor components, but the internal stuff is all developed from the G-Cannon.
Well I have to say that Heavygun is the most handsome small GM variants out there
well say what you want about the heavygun it along with the jegan are still 2 of my all time favorite grunt suits
that and like stated in the video beargus was a greater pilot than he proclaimed to be
Will you do the Javeline as well?
Isn't the MSA-120 supposed to be a high performance Heavy Gun variant? Then again I guess that is why it's here.
Really? It looks nothing like the Heavygun though?
And in my experience "it is said" is commonly used when they want something to be true)
As for the crazy appearance, it's apparently made by the Zeonic section of AE.
This is awesome could you please do one about the jegan
Im still waiting on a HeavyGun 2.0 master grade!
The heavygun is the GM 2 of late UC, not terrible but its obviously a stand in until a proper next gen suit is made
Watching Victory Gundam, and i was surprised when the Heavygun shows up as the MS that the Macedonian colony army uses.
Don't worry Heavygun, there'll be a Heavyarms one day. Then they'll see. Then they'll ALL see.
