So, what we have all learned from this experience is that if any of us who are from North America are planning a trip to Australia, we should contact Sarah for her wish list before we head out. 😉
Remember something for next time: we sell cheap suitcases in America as well! Don't hold back and just buy another suitcase to take home with you, full of art supplies!
Actually, I put one suitcase, containing what I’ll be wearing. I N S I D E of a larger suitcase. That way I’m r e a d y to shop!! Also, wear one pair of jeans, and pack ONLY one other. Unless you somehow dirty the first, you can wear it for a week, no problem!! Regarding tops, unless you come during our winters, pack only the flimsiest of tops - things you can pack rolled up to save space. Bras and undies can be washed out at night and hung to dry from clip hangers (from the motel closet) over the shower rod. Hope you had fun in The States!! Be well!
When I travel, I tend to bring clothing that I am willing to leave behind in the country I’m visiting. That way, I can load my suitcase up with souvenirs. Mind you, this is the first time that I have considered the possibility of art supplies being souvenirs…. 😉
There are still limits to the number of baggages and the sizes. But having said that, she should just bring 2 empty suitcases with disposal clothing -clothing she can leave behind and use the space for art supplies.
Also. I will NEVER complain about the art supplies being expensive again. Wow. The prices you have to pay for things in Australia is.......actually just not fair!
ABSOLUTELY N O T FAIR!! Especially since the items are mostly shipped to A N Y country!! Freight costs can’t be THAT different to arrive at one country or another! And - if any of it comes from CHINA - it SHOULD be cheaper to get it Australia. They’re closer than the U. S.!!
@@kkrolf2782 yeah the prices she was saying just blew me away. I don't understand how that works. And then there's the thing where you guys don't get everything we do. WHY? I let out such a sigh of relief when I heard they found your bag. The dollar amount alone made it distressing, let alone the time, effort, and sentimentality of some of the stuff inside. SO glad that they found it for you. As an artist in America, I can also confidently say that not making it ten feet from the door before finding something you want to buy and being overwhelmed by everything in the store doesn't go away with time. Moving home to Melbourne in a year or so, I’ve developed a prepper mentality for art supplies. Need to live to a hundred to use up all the Arches paper and the 300+ open stock pencils. Expect the watercolours, inks, gilding materials, and heavenly brushes will outlast entire epochs. I regret nothing:)

Woah damn...! how I wish Singapore have art stores like Blick Art materials and Art Supply Warehouse as I definitely felt like the art supply in Singapore doesn't have that same huge variety as these two shops. They also posted a thank you on the other channel for mentioning them! PS. It's Christian Scott Sava, if anyone wants to check out his artwork and calm narration.
Thank you for visiting us and having SO MUCH FUN!!! Yes, Bob Ross was our art guy. I remember growing up and watching him paint. I was soooooo excited to see his show every time!!
Blick is my favorite store. I live 1.5 hrs from the Baltimore, Maryland and the DC stores, but have only been to each, once. I go to Savannah at least once a year and go to Blick when I'm there, which will be in 1 week! Great bargains and helpful staff.
If you’re in Sydney: try Parker’s fine art supplies in the rocks, the Sydney art store in botany, art scene in west Ryde, and ArtSup in Penrith. These shops pack a punch for variety if you’re over the typical chain art store. Options 2 and 4 are great online stores too.
You have to remember, they have a possible 330 million customers where we have 27 million. Far more artists, bigger customer base, cheaper prices. Plus they can import stuff a lot cheaper than we can, for the same reasons. And, our exchange rate doesn't help, either! I think I need to go visit a few of my friends in the US!!!😊
On Brazil is near impossible to find so so many of these. We share the same feelings when visiting an art supply store in USA. Happy to see everything but said we don’t have the store.
Wow, I feel overwhelmed watching this 🤣. I work very hard to keep my art supplies minimal and I still end up feeling I have too much despite the limits I set. 😅

It was very joyful to shop with you! I live abroad for many years and know how fun it is when you have a shop that sells lots of supplies at great prices So glad they found your bag!
I'm so happy ou made it to Art Supply Warehouse and In n Out Burger right down the street! I love Blick too, but Art Supply Warehouse is my favorite. Can't wait to see your future videos with some of these supplies!
I love this video because I feel exactly the same when I am in that kind of shop. It feels like Christmas. All the supplies, all the possibilities, it's magic 🤩 Thank you Sara for this video, I feel seen 😅
I was holding my breath when you said the airline lost your bag. More and more I've been hearing about airlines "losing" bags but in reality there are people in the airlines that work together to put bags to the side to steal expensive items from them. It's becoming more and more a serious problem. People don't realize how big of an issue it's becoming and airlines are doing nothing about it. Anyways, I'm glad you and all of your bags made it safely back home! I shop all the time at Blick and a local art shop and I LOVE both of them so much. I always walk out with way more than I need but Blick always has great prices. Also I'm a little surprised that you didn't know about Bob Ross. I grew up with him in the states and watching his show. Such a legend. If you ever have the time, look into his background, he was a VERY interesting person.
Oh WOW! You lucky thing "The size of Bunnings"....I wish we had that size art shop here. AMAZING for you! Looking forward to the price comparisons. Glad they found your bag, hurray! I have the Bruynzeel Expression 12's, they layer and blend amazingly well for the price. Student grade but excellent!
What you need is a friend to shop for you in the US and send it to you and glad to see you got your luggage back that would have really sucked if you didn't after doing all that shopping. Keep doing what you do it makes a difference
I loved this video and so glad you were in the US. For our coloring world, You are a celebrity here in the US. A meet and greet would’ve been nice at the Art Supply Store. Love your video!
I absolutely love Art Supply Warehouse! They are so helpful and their Instagram page is so creative with their promotions! It is definitely my happy place and we would be lost with out them =D
This was such a fun video! I recently found your channel and I'm literally binging and drooling over your beautiful art haul and art masterpieces. Thanks Sarah!
Totally believe you spent the most at the Art Supply Warehouse! That place is amazing! Glad you were able to enjoy a bunch of art stores here in the US. 💜
So happy you enjoyed shopping here! I realize now how much we take for granted here in the USA, not just with art supplies but much more. Blick’s is one of my go-to places.(in person and online). I live in Texas, but visit the Chicago store often. I say a prayer as they go to baggage on the plane. I’m sure that was a very upsetting experience, but so damn glad you got your stuff! Last year, we drove to Chicago, so I did not have a limit on space (just money, lol). I don’t know if this would have worked for you, but this last trip, I took everything to Fed Ex and had my purchases shipped to me. I paid a little extra for faster service and the package was home before I was! 😊 Hobby Lobby great for home stuff, if I need something quick, I’ll run into Michael’s instead. We also have a 2 great art shop here in Houston, Texas Art Supply and Jerry’s Artarama. if you visit Houston, you must visit! (I’ll be your tour guide, I have a car, no walking! Lol!) oh, and the rubber cement eraser, love it, great for removing sticky spots or smudges from artwork. Also, I’m patiently waiting for my Color Cube! I love the Color Catalog, I use it all the time! Thanks! 😊
It was fun seeing what you got at all of the different art shops. Being from America, I've never heard of Blick or the Art Supply Warehouse, but they look amazing.
I live in the OC and feel so lucky to so many of these places in next to each other. The best by far is Art Supply Warehouse, they also offer legitimate art classes for people who are no longer in school.
Thank you Sarah for this clip. I live in Western Australia and even though I enjoy scrapbooking, card making, planning and creative journaling, we have such limited supplies to buy from. I guess that means less competition and fewer sales too. I have purchased from overseas and it’s the freight that kills me. Most of the time it’s the same as my purchases, so think double the price. And when I ordered from happy planner they took a month to get here! That’s why I started a TH-cam channel too, so that Aussie’s can source supplies. Any ideas or suggestions welcome!
Rubber cement pick up is what back in the day used to be for rubber cement placed on a watercolor paper to avoid painting certain areas that don't want to be painted. Once it's done the rubber cement pick up was used to remove the cement from the painting. Just in case anybody cares
I am very envious at this moment 😀 In Spain we have none of these stores and I have to buy most of my art and scrapbooking/mixed media supplies on internet websites. We have now thankfully got a few os these websites in spanish but about 15 years before when I started, I could only buy stuff from USA and UK and since the cost of snail mail went up, its now impossible to do that. I wish any of those big USA stores saw the potential in coming here. And yes, I too freaked out when you said they had lost your bag. I would have cried my heart out. I am so glad you got it back.
I feel your pain, when I moved to AU, it was a massive shock to see the prices of art supplies and that the selection was just so much more limited. Everytime I go home, I bring a few more art supplies back with me. xo
All art stores, no budget... my dream day!! I also find myself wanting everything the second I walk in! And with all that, my favorite moment in this video was your husband handing you that item just so he could come back with, "so... no dice?"
The Art Supply Warehouse is a dream. Where I am from shipping doubles the cost of the art supplies and only student supplies and low grade art supplies actually reach here.
I was all "YAY" they found your bag ... I felt like crying during your previous video when you found your art luggage had been lost by the airline. ... I am amazed at the price differences you showed in this video. Makes online art shopping look like a waste of money - unless you cannot find it locally.
When you stepped into the Fullerton Blick, I said "No Way. That is the art store I shop in all the time!! But why didn't she go to The Art Supply Warehouse since it is closer to the airport?" LOL I'm glad you made it to the warehouse. It truly is a unique experience and I treat myself to a trip there once or twice a year. It would have been a shame if you had missed it. I'm so glad you got your bag of treasures once you got home. Enjoy your art and thank you for sharing your journey. It made me smile.
The tri colour ones are really nice. You think they would be hard to get an even colour , but it’s really not. It’s a nice smooth and great colour. I love mine.😊
OMG Sarah! So many yummy art stuff!!! I would totally freak out if my bag was lost with all of my found treasures. You definitely have a strong will, because I would start using these goodies as soon as my bag would arrive. Three months is a veeeeery long time for such abstinence. I loved your video. Felt like I was there shopping together with you. I'll put on my list of places to visit when I go to USA. Thank you for sharing.
I kept saying out loud "That's a good deal lady!" when you was placing things in the carts. I like that you was able to experience this too. It's wild how much difference there are between places. I wish you could of experienced them all in a different order for the first time.
I'm so happy for you! I live in LA and you found my favorite art stores, Blick and the warehouse! If I had known you were in CA I would have gladly driven you there 👍
I live in the Los Angeles area and have not been to the Art Supply Warehouse. I didn’t even know it existed until Chloe did her video. As for traveling with art supplies, my creative friends and I get together every year for a retreat and I have to fly with my art supplies. Every year TSA searches my bag and damages or destroys something. Every. Freaking. Year. For the past 15 years. I’m not sure what it is that concerns them so much.
Wow just wow i get lost in Michaels, I might not return home if i visited the art supply warehouse. The deals on art supplies I don't own especially copics are incredibly cheap compared to Michaels and I live in the US and always price comparison. I say good haul. The shimmer sprays are fascinating that is what I'm looking forward to seeing you use in a future video.
Im so jealous!!!!! I felt like I was buying stuff there with you!!! Just an FYI but some of those products are even cheaper here in Europe! Faber castell and ecoline at least are! But the way can’t wait to see more especially your input on the ecolines! ❤
Love the video you guys should buy a vacation house in the US so when you go on vacation from Australia to the US you can film a bunch of art videos and you have a place to store them.
So happy for you that you got a lot of stuff you wanted! I feel ya girl. I'm Canadian. Kinda remote Canadian. It is MUCH cheaper for me to order from USA Amazon, USA art stores, and even UK art stores to get to where I live in central/northern Canada! My own country is soooo expensive to ship the same art supplies to me... they're cheaper online in America and the UK even with the conversions and shipping! Note - ditch all your t-shirts, socks, and undies for more room next trip~ you and shane lol
Well if you struggle for supplies in Australia imagine my frustration in New Zealand! 🤔 and I stay in a small little town called Gisborne... even less supplies. This was such a tease... but I loved your venture.
Great experience and so much fun. So happy they found your bag. So sad we have to pay so much for art supplies here in Aus. And living in Tas, there is basically nothing like those shops.

It was very joyful to shop with you! I live abroad for many years and know how fun it is when you have a shop that sells lots of supplies at great prices
So glad they found your bag!
We don't have art supplies stores in Saudi Arabia so this is fun to watch as an artist
No art stores at all? How do art and craft lovers get by?🤔
@@Patracat there's a bookstore called Jarir that sell some arts & crafts. It's not much, but we do with what we have
I'm so happy ou made it to Art Supply Warehouse and In n Out Burger right down the street! I love Blick too, but Art Supply Warehouse is my favorite. Can't wait to see your future videos with some of these supplies!
Oh my gosh my eyes were tearing up when u said your suitcase was lost. Sooo glad it was found.
Watching you shop for art supplies was almost as fun as if I had shopped myself. Thank God they found your bag!
I love this video because I feel exactly the same when I am in that kind of shop. It feels like Christmas. All the supplies, all the possibilities, it's magic 🤩 Thank you Sara for this video, I feel seen 😅
This was a great vicarious experience. We got to see all the stuff in these big stores without having the real temptation to spend on it ourselves.
Man I WISH Australia has as much art stores like it is in the states.😭
I love art supply shopping! Totally living vicariously through you in this one 😊
I thought I was gonna cry when they lost your bag. So happy they found it! Looks like a great time!
BEAUTIFUL ART SHOPPING IN THE USA, I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH,
Cute cat sticky notes are never a waste. I’m so happy you made this video and they found your bag. I’m up for a part 2 if you are
What you need is a friend to shop for you in the US and send it to you and glad to see you got your luggage back that would have really sucked if you didn't after doing all that shopping. Keep doing what you do it makes a difference
I am so glad they found your bag! When I heard the airline lost your luggage, I was soo sad for you. Thank goodness you have them back!
I loved this video and so glad you were in the US. For our coloring world, You are a celebrity here in the US. A meet and greet would’ve been nice at the Art Supply Store. Love your video!
I’d love to do a meet and greet on a future visit if I have more time!
The Stabilo Woody's are sooooo good! I bought them for my daughter and when you wetten them, you can even paint windows 😍🎨
When I heard your bag had been lost, my immediate thought was "Qantas has struck again!" So so glad they found it!
Now I know what the US TH-camrs mean when they refer to ‘Blicks’, I thought it was online only. Thank you for making this fun video.
So happy for you that they found your bag. Have fun with the new stuff!
Thanks! I live in So. Cal. and didn't even know about the Art Supply Warehouse. Fun watching you get excited about all of the supplies.
Im just glad that the kiddos finally get their souvenir because it was also with the lost luggage hehe
Lol im glad I get to live vicariously through your art supply hoarding to keep my own under control😆
I swear Australians are just obsessed with tiny small things. Jazza also gets all high pitched and excited when he finds tiny art things
I love Blick! If you use liquid frisket for watercolor painting, you then use the rubber cement pick up eraser to remove it from your paper.
If I had known you were in CA I would have gladly driven you there 👍
I'm so glad you got your bag back!
I’m from Europe and also went crazy buying art supplies in the USA this summer….everything is bigger there and there’s so much to choose from
Wow just wow i get lost in Michaels, I might not return home if i visited the art supply warehouse. The deals on art supplies I don't own especially copics are incredibly cheap compared to Michaels and I live in the US and always price comparison. I say good haul. The shimmer sprays are fascinating that is what I'm looking forward to seeing you use in a future video.
I'm happy that the airport found your art supplies bag 😊 and I'm looking forward to seeing them used in future videos!
So cool that you like my local, Art Supply Warehouse!
Future video idea - you should try to go to every art store in Japan
I'm glad you had fun! And I'm glad they found your bag! Great video!
I hope you had a good time here! My country is great sometimes. We have shops and restaurants that other countries don’t have!
what a rollercoaster of emotions!!😅😅😅
So happy for you that you got a lot of stuff you wanted! I feel ya girl. I'm Canadian. Kinda remote Canadian. It is MUCH cheaper for me to order from USA Amazon, USA art stores, and even UK art stores to get to where I live in central/northern Canada! My own country is soooo expensive to ship the same art supplies to me... they're cheaper online in America and the UK even with the conversions and shipping!
Note - ditch all your t-shirts, socks, and undies for more room next trip~ you and shane lol
Exactly. Socks and t shirts just take up precious room, and are easily replaced. I’ve heard that Canada’s expensive for artists. Sympathies.
