Nice guide, but fighter is easily one of the worst classes for min-maxing. It's beginner friendly, but lacks utility (and dmg until the lategame and cant abuse certain game mechanics and mythic feats). On top, pure Archer Fighter is a meme^

Experiment is a great tip. I decided to grab a meta magic feat for my main character (to cast spells as a swift actions) unfortunately I didn't understand that I would need to use spell slots at a higher level... (Please read, lean from my mistakes) But now I realised my Azata spellbook does have high enough spell slots, so I can use it for some of those spells. I also found that you can get a favorite mythic metamagic to lower it's cost by 1 which is also a great option for me. One bad mistake opened more options for me than playing it safe ever would.
One of the ones I found was doing a quick dip into grenadier with my Arcane bomber so I would stop frying my won front line. 2 points in there. And yeah those bombs that used to hurt me a ton do not hurt me anymore and yeah the pain that comes from them is quite nice till the Wizard spells take off. Toss in your focus element and everything hates you. Also did a dive into sorc for 2x dragon element bonus. Which stacks with the AoE damage from the arcane bombs... As I told my bud use the respec button on your first play-through. The guides give you some ideas but they may not fit with your party structure especially if you are not modding the respecs to allow for you to turn your companions into w/e. One more level and Camilla will get her sword lord and that should help her pump.
As a casual CRPG gamer I simply don't know enough to optimise my play and am not really interested in spending the time to learn everything in depth. Your video highlights an essential truth - playing the game is about having fun! I am absolutely not interested in minmaxing my characters to the nth degree and playing ones that I don't like just to have bragging rights about beating the game on a high difficultly level. I actually gave up playing Kingmaker because I hit an encounter that I just couldn't beat after playing many times - it stopped being fun so I stopped playing. I play WOTR on normal difficulty level with characters I like and have fun! Your tips are very helpful - especially pointing out that it's okay to lower the difficulty level to get through a tough encounter if it stops being fun 👍
I am glad if I helped - Normal in my opinion is the best difficulty in the game right now considering some acts are not yet finished. As I said in the video DnD was designed with balanced numbers in mind - so changing the difficulty so that your numbers work is the intended way to play - think of it like the Dungeon Master changing the monsters so it's players can keep having fun!
I'm playing core because I spent a lot of time in KM, and wanted a decent challenge first time through. Level 8 I run into an enemy pack that was very much like a fight that may have taken place at around lvl 14 in Beneath the Stolen Lands DLC, with the main enemy chain casting on your party with a barrage of disgusting spells including: chain lightning which one shots your whole summoned pack, Plaguestorm which instant stacks diseases on all of your ranged in a radius that is difficult to avoid, destruction on Seelah and her horse which is often a 1 shot, Rift of Ruin which is generally thrown on your tank or healer and invariably gets at least 1 person in it, and more. Even the things you can get through with great strats and min-max fairly easily can get interspersed with omg how do I do this at all moments. The difficulty variability is pretty big and yeah you may need really good sense of mechanics and spells, buffing, and party balance to even make it on harder levels.
Not only that but it's really not that simple as easy is easy and hard is hard. With roleplaying builds core can be just has hard as a higher difficulty
Absolutely. I play this game on "normal" and lower "damage to party" to 0.5. Also ditch that tacked-on "Crusader Mode". Having more gun this way than on "Core" for sure. What's the point in having to replay the same fight over and over again? I think the devs did us a great service with the amount of customizing the game allows with the difficulty.
im a bit late to this game but I picked it up in the winter steam sale and I see now I was overthinking alot of things such as party composition ty for this video maybe I can enjoy the game now.

So do the remove fear, remove disease, remove paralysis spells have a lasting preventative effect?
Remove Fear and Remove Desease does - Remove Paralysis doesn't.
For Paralysis you want Freedom of Movement.
