'Trust the process' might sound like bullshit. But as a recruitment chair of a sorority that has a reputation for not being wanted by anyone, it's true, you should trust it. I went through formal recruitment and we only have 6 sororities and on the second day, I was cut by every one but one. It was the only one I didn't like. I dropped the process, devastated. I then decided to go through informal recruitment for that same sorority the following semester. I realized how stupid I had been. These girls wanted me and now that I am on the executive board and running recruitment myself, I can see that I would have never fit in with those other chapters. Don't judge a book by its cover and PLEASE don't read that STUPID greekrank website. It trashes every sorority when in reality, every one has its perks. Now I'm helping make my chapter the best it can be and it has made me grow tremendously in the two years that I've been in it. I can't wait for formal recruitment in the spring so we can show everyone how great our chapter is.

Not only did I go through formal recruitment, but I also went through informal, so I think I've exhausted my options.

This is one thing that is disappointing for me. I have gone to a community college for two years before nursing school in Spring of 2017 because I want to go to TTU, but as a result I have not been able to join a sorority. I keep telling myself that in the long term I am saving over $50,000, but I have always wanted to be in a Sorority. Even so I still watch when you post videos about it haha. Love you Caitlin! :D
Thank you for the be selfish note- I’m going to rush next year for my freshman year of university and my friend convinced me to, but she’s 100% convinced I’m going to be in her sorority and she’s already broken rules when it comes to what she’s told me :( I’m nervous to tell her no if I don’t love that sorority, but I know I need to make the choice for myself!!
This came at such a good time! Our recruitment is September 16-19 and then we have an extra week beyond that because a new sorority is coming to our school and is looking for founding members!

How exactly do the girls "current members" pick you to come back? I did rush this year and it didn't go that week for me. I sorority I ended up in was not the right fit for me. I felt super out of place. Anyways I just wanted to know how sororities go about picking girls to come back
At my school it is based on looks, or at least at the top tier sororities. It's based on looks and THEN personality. Sometimes it is just like in the movies, not as dramatic, but it is very vain.
Can you rush if you're a bit older? I was in school for one academic year directly after high school, but this will be my 3rd "gap year" (I'm supposed to be a senior but credit wise, i will be a sophomore if I go back next fall) I couldn't go back due to reasons. I'll be 23 in about a year and i'm not sure if schools have an age limit or what not!
I had 5 different procedures most of which I can't spell correctly lol! my chronic sinusitis couldn't be helped with medications or sprays so I had to resort to surgery but I'm so glad I did! vlog coming sunday!

Personally I would wait until fall. All the sororities on your college campus will be participating and you'll get a feel for them all rather than just one. Plus, in my opinion, fall recruitment is more fun. The sororities put a lot more work into especially since more girls go through! :)
this depends on your preference, there are pros/cons to both! as shannon mentioned, fall is more formal, you get to see more chapters, and it's a longer & more in-depth process. Spring often has only a few sororities participate, and is a lot more informal! So if the fall recruitment week stresses you out or is too much for your taste, go with spring! and if you wanna get the full experience and options, do fall :) hope that helps!

Please young ladies look to other places to fit in. I was legacy for the oldest biggest sorority and I spent so much money was involved in a ritual that I regret and they even taught us to shake like the Masonic lions paw. Reconsider and seek Jesus instead.

our school allowed you to rush at any age but check up on your school's greek websites or email the Panhellenic president and see :)
