The trucking industry has become the butt hole of all jokes.
Roll through any truck stop, observe the drivers and then vomit all over yourself.
Up until (roughly) the end of the 20th century, (Basically, late eighties into the 90's) the trucking industry was well stocked with tough, fit, hard working, self sufficient individuals. Then came the transition to what we not so fondly referred to as "steering wheel holders".
Today, Hawaiian shirts, Bermuda shorts and Jesus slippers adorn pathetic, incompetent, out of shape people that went to "school" and became "professional" truck drivers in 8 weeks (or less) and a large percentage of them barely speak English and brought the driving style of their native country with them.
My Grandfather started up just out of WW2, I am third generation in this industry and it has become such a joke that I am retiring early and I wont even admit to people that ask, what I do for a living.
