I’m 20 and have been doing landscaping/snow removal for the past year. Nonetheless your totally right it is amazing being outside with nature. The only downsides are in the summer your sweating all day and drink a ton of water and get a lot of sun burns. But in winter it’s more labouring trying to push heavy and sticky snow for 3 days straight . Snow/leaf Blower days are fun and satisfying asf tho. But yeah I say the pros outweigh the cons by a mile cause after like 4-6 you won’t even get sore or tired from working no more

I just started working in landscaping for the summer and it is great. You just watch and ask questions! Don’t be afraid to ask questions, it’s your first time. I would recommend working for a smaller companies.
Do as much research as you can, ask questions. Find someone that is doing what you want to do and follow them. Learn from your mistakes and never give up on yourself.

At 5:40 you need to learn to turn properly on that skidster. Luckily you didn't damage driveway. I was doing a $40,000 patio with steps and fireplace with my boss at the tim we. We where using techo block. Customer was already A dick and threating about $. Only gave $8,000 for materials and him and my boss where going st it. He went onto his asphalt driveway with a bobcat and ruined it from the driveway to road connection. A litle raised bump and cracked it all cuz he was pissed and not being careful. Half the jib done and guy wouldn't pay the rest of bill. So just be careful

around here they have cable lines that are 1 inch below the ground. Its easier to take the five minutes and set something up for them to come out and mark the area. Plus then the liability is on them
Next time, back drag the bucket to remove that loose stuff. Toothed bucket helps. The machine is too big for that job. Small tlb would be better, and not tear up the grass....

I make roughly on a bad day $40 to a good day uve made couple hundred an HR. I charge differently per customer depending on if they had money. I never charge by hour. I've learned charging y job and busting your ass you get paid double triple what you would hourly

16 is pretty young, no one would hire me until I was 18. Unless it's family run or you have a lot of connections it'll be tough to find a job at 16 in this kind of work

You ask and are taught, don’t be afraid to ask a question EVERYTIME you use a new tool.

Those wheeled machines are terrible for landscaping in people’s yards those ruts will be there for years to come. You need tracks if you’re going to be doing this type of work
Tacked is the way to go. Back when this job took place a few years ago that's what I had access too. Any ruts were filled in
how do you stand working such a miserable depressing job, i did landscaping last summer, felt like shit, asked myself why the fuck am i doing this, its miserable work, i dont know how you do it....
