The best thing about Ayato DPS is the lack of a need for Stamina bar. Granted Childe works well without charged attacks too but to have a pure no charged DPS is a fantastic change of pace.
Also, he is easier to use at c0 than Childe. It can be difficult depending on the gamestate to decide to stay in Childe melee for a few more seconds to try and finish off an enemy but risk a longer cd which may bork your rotation. Ayato has none of that. Drop Q, spam e till its done switch off.
My brother just got Ayato and we screamed so loud. Xingqiu and Sucrose included! I'm so damn happy for him. He only had 10 pity, I'm jealous but like I said I'm also really happy for him. Edit: Damn.. Even my dad got Ayato! Their luck is just amazing. And the thing is, he just started his account 2 days ago, damn. Happy for them!

I used him in the trial and I gotta say I was pretty impressed. Doing decent and pretty consistent hydro damage. He'd be good on taser comps and vaporize teams. Not to mention freeze teams. With two cryo with crit increase which Ayako loves. Makes a pretty good unit in my eyes. I'm taking a break from Genshin pulling and daily play time. Next time I play I'm just gonna focus on the characters I have.
Wont replace XQ and childe in vaporize, not fast enough hydro application. Top tier freeze is questionable due to either ganyu or ayaka takes majority of field time, extending rotation usually equal to dps loss. Might be good on taser.
In my eyes, just a slightly prettier hydro yoimiya . Free to disagree idc, but im not interested in him cause i already have childe, kokomi and yoimiya who all work in a similiar fashion.
Vaporize mostly revolved with xl, and she seems a waste when paired with ayato. Yes ayato can be paired with her but childe and xq does the job better at helping xl do high damage. As i see it, ayato is out of place in team comps available right now based on the comments above me.
7:50 An electro healer is upcoming in 2.7 with Kuki Shinobu! She will heal while throwing electro shuriken with her e skill so she may be perfect for electro charged Ayato, hopefully just as good as C6 Fischl.
I noticed that this may be the best character first impression video I watched ever. Almost perfect is a pretty good evaluation of Ayato. He’s in the most premium element, can fit in many different team comps, and has multiple artifact sets and weapons he can run. He’s very f2p friendly and has a complete kit at C0 to boot. You can run him as main or sub DPS and his personal damage is great too. His only caveat is his ICD, but HYV’s recent hydro/pyro characters are made to not enable vape (Yoimiya, Kokomi, Ayato).
Unfortunalety ICD most of the time is the major factor to determine how good char compared to existing one. Not saying you shouldnt pull him, most story content can be cleared with amber anyway.
@@samcrdx8016 By premium I mean hydro being the best element for reactions, but also there are 7 geo characters and only 6 hydro characters so even in that regard it is more premium.
I love him so much!! I was worried that his elemental skill has a long cool down and would be clunky af, but when i played him it lasted SO LONG and came back so quickly! Not to mention its so smooth and you can *move around so freely cause ur not stuck in one animation.
Amazing video as usual! Ayato is one of the most versatile 5* characters I've seen in Genshin. I pulled for him last night and I've been having so much fun trying different teams, weapons and artifacts. Other elemental DPS characters are somewhat bound to certain teams or artifacts, but Ayato seems to be a lot more flexible. I'm enjoying him so far!

I already got my Ayato after the Maintenance was Over and the good thing is I only Spend 40x Rolling for him it's worth all the Wait because he is good. At C0 the problem is idk if i have Primos for Ayaka and Yelan.
Some people already have the mats to upgrade him to max and have the artifacts & weapons ready.. so, it is normal.. You will see lots of player who r like this.. For me, all i can do is build him up to 60-70 with no talents, since i grind for him late..
I just got him and he's amazing, he does 10k per slash alone and around 50k with supports. He's honestly amazing and fun to use, I lost the 50/50 30 pulls after getting him now I can get his sister without worrying
Same, I thought the Elemental Skill would be much more fun to use (based on the leaks) but it just does not feel satisfying to me as I had hoped. Just gonna save my primos for, hopefully, a Kazuha rerun soon.

THIS CHARACTER (AYATO C0) IS SO DEADLY IN VAPE TEAM, AND HYPERBLOOM TEAM. I always full stars the floor 12-3 of the abyss v3.1 with lineup : Ayato + Xiangling + Yae + Bennett or Ayato + Raiden EM + Collei + Barbara
He's weirdly good with CHongyun in freeze (I'm building up friendship for Chongyun) because you use Chongyuns skill it hits someone, Use Ayato skill and freeze them, then use Ayato's normal attacks (after his e skill is done) which would be infused with Cryo from chongyun and then reuse his skill to freeze them again and repeat. Now there are absolutely easier freeze teams for him of course but it was just a fun discovery i ran into. Edited parts for clarities sake
use this team comp, zhongli,ayato,kazuha,bennet, or u can replace zhongli with mona if u dont need a shielder or u dun have zhongli. it is my current team, and it is quite op, just build bennet with er and max buff, mona/zhongli with max burst dmg, kazuha full em, and ayato crit atk build, and he will one shot every boss. i only main ayato as a dps, as a ar 56, he is the best character. if he was to crit every slash when u buff him, he can do up to 525000damage if ever slash is 35000. my highest damage for one slash is 80000 damage, although vaporize is a good buff for ayato, it doesnt really matter when he vaporize his slashes or he doesnt when he is doing tons of damage because vaporize is just 250% increase on base damage of his skill excluding all buffs. but of course, u can solo him to pyro cube and one shot him. the best mono team for him is yelan,ayato,mona,xingqiu, the machine gun team. try this rotation for showcase> ayato burst>kazuha skill>bennet burst>kazuha burst>mona burst>ayato skill. i use this rotation anytime when i am defeating stronger opponents. try it out and it will deal tons of damage. my ayato isnt doing dmg nowadays because i accidentally deleted his crit dmg headset. i use mistsplitter,atk sands,hydro dmg goblet,and crit dmg headset with lots of crit rate and some crit dmg to have a balanced 70:260. thats all
I got him in my 1st single wish (I was too impatient to gather enough primos to do a 10 pull lmao) at 40 something pity and I screamed. I'm broke mora-wise so raising him will be slow but I'm really happy I got him. I wish you all luck!
Before I craved for more 5* but after going into abyss I understood I need better artifacts and build the 4*s asap I don't even need many 5* to clear abyss
I've still not decided on him lol. But you are my go-to on figuring out which characters are best. This has helped a lot. I was thinking of using him with Diluc or Ayaka if I get him, but after this video (if I get him), it'll probably be Bennet/Fischl/Sucrose (don't have Kazuha... yet). Ayato Yae Kazuha Kokomi can works or Ayato Yae Fischl Sayu/Jean. Raiden can works too but using Raiden is kinda weird since you have two on fielder and kind of wasting Raiden potential in another team.
I'm using the F2P Kageushi at the moment, kind of considering using the weapon banner given my primos are still healthy... But I think I honestly would rather get another character than try for a weapon just yet. Thanks for the analysis!

Thank you so much for this guide. One thing for sure about this handsome as hell guy is that his skill and burst are pretty simple. Only normal attacks are needed when casting ele skill so I don't have to think too much on how to utilize him on my team. And I whaled just to get him but man how he is worth every penny I spent on this game 👍🏻

It would be smart to wait for his rerun. I never pull on the first run of a character so that i can see how they are like in the meta with more testing
I tried him in another comp. Double hydro with xingqiu, Jean and Bennett. The hydro resonance is slightly overkill on the heals but it helps ayato stay topped up if you want to use harbinger of dawn. The Bennett buff plus VV shred with Jean (from xingqiu rainswords) had me dealing consistent damage all around (+/- 17k per auto with harbinger, 22k with jade cutter). If, like me, you have lost several 50/50s to her, Jean's c2 provides a substantial buff and lets you deal a few extra hits in without losing much damage. Shimenawa's reminiscence is also a viable set since it boosts his normal attack by 50% for 10s and allows you to set up for another rotation with the downtime on his E without losing much damage(xingqiu E does wonders with VV shred). I tried it in Abyss and my clear time was in line with my raiden national team.
Confused about the Echoes of an Offering Artifact set. It states "When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite". So does that only apply to Ayato's NORMAL attack, or does it also apply to his attacks after you pop the Elemental Skill?
Ayato's elemental skill hits is considered Normal Attack. The only thing that is considered as elemental skill is his clone burst (hence why he can't trigger sac sword with his slash).

Been maining kokomi since her release and wanted to switch things up a bit. Got him 15 wishes after getting Keqing totaling 77 wishes, tazer and freeze teams are my go to so I hope he turns out greattt
WTFS is with these Super high energy cost. All the Inazuma characters 60 or above. Even the Support Characters. The land of eternity = Energy inefficiency.
I like how fast his attacks are, which is fun, but i don’t really enjoy watching the rapid flashing. It’s actually a real con for me and I don’t think I’ll pull even though his design is nice.
he's very versatille, he may be not the best option in team comps (for now, we don't know if something meta will come up) but he works well in a lot of teams, and have a lot of artifact options. on top of that he is so fun to play and sexy!
Being devastatingly honest: Xingqiu is better [Even a healer is a main dps with Crit rate 70+ & Crit DMG 200+] AYATO: weak against enemies with teleport, long distance, fast movement or shield, also does not provide good support in reactions... He is not for me.

Yeah the electro healer is a must for electro charged teams. There’s only a minimal amount of combinations u can do with them w/o one yet it’s such a powerful team comp
After getting Ayato I test him on abyss floor 12 and still complete it with full star. I like the Fluidity of his play style. 1st: Raiden, Beidou, Ayato and Xingqiu 2nd: Zhong, Ning, Benny and Xiangling I love the DPS Swapo Rotation if Ayago and Raiden. I also don't encounter any Problems in Completing the floor 12. To make sure and to practice him with his comp I did it 4x and Completed it with no Problem.
Almost Perfect? He seems far from that! His Burst doesn't fit well with his elemental skill, and the water bunshin doesn't make sense with all his kit.
@@serhanmt They never said it's useless. His skill duration is 6 seconds and his burst is 18 sec so he can't really take advantage of the normal attack bust that well. If your timing is perfect, you can have a 12-sec bust from burst on his skill which is unrealistic because like I said timing has to be perfect. You also want him to be on the field as little as possible because of his energy generation passive. I think his skill duration is the biggest issue for him because he has problems with synergizing with Beidou who has 15-sec duration for her burst.

What if his skill last for 18sec and his burst only 6sec? He's a joke. His burst last that long and can stay while he's off field is because he can be a support or sub dps not only main dps. Your argument sounds like he should be main dps only, which is further make him non future proof lol

Ayato + Xiangling + Yae + Bennett
or
Ayato + Raiden EM + Collei + Barbara
He's weirdly good with CHongyun in freeze (I'm building up friendship for Chongyun) because you use Chongyuns skill it hits someone, Use Ayato skill and freeze them, then use Ayato's normal attacks (after his e skill is done) which would be infused with Cryo from chongyun and then reuse his skill to freeze them again and repeat. Now there are absolutely easier freeze teams for him of course but it was just a fun discovery i ran into.

use this team comp, zhongli,ayato,kazuha,bennet, or u can replace zhongli with mona if u dont need a shielder or u dun have zhongli. it is my current team, and it is quite op, just build bennet with er and max buff, mona/zhongli with max burst dmg, kazuha full em, and ayato crit atk build, and he will one shot every boss. i only main ayato as a dps, as a ar 56, he is the best character. if he was to crit every slash when u buff him, he can do up to 525000damage if ever slash is 35000. my highest damage for one slash is 80000 damage, although vaporize is a good buff for ayato, it doesnt really matter when he vaporize his slashes or he doesnt when he is doing tons of damage because vaporize is just 250% increase on base damage of his skill excluding all buffs. but of course, u can solo him to pyro cube and one shot him. the best mono team for him is yelan,ayato,mona,xingqiu, the machine gun team. try this rotation for showcase> ayato burst>kazuha skill>bennet burst>kazuha burst>mona burst>ayato skill. i use this rotation anytime when i am defeating stronger opponents. try it out and it will deal tons of damage. my ayato isnt doing dmg nowadays because i accidentally deleted his crit dmg headset. i use mistsplitter,atk sands,hydro dmg goblet,and crit dmg headset with lots of crit rate and some crit dmg to have a balanced 70:260. thats all

I've still not decided on him lol. But you are my go-to on figuring out which characters are best. This has helped a lot. I was thinking of using him with Diluc or Ayaka if I get him, but after this video (if I get him), it'll probably be Bennet/Fischl/Sucrose (don't have Kazuha... yet).

Ayato Yae Kazuha Kokomi can works or Ayato Yae Fischl Sayu/Jean. Raiden can works too but using Raiden is kinda weird since you have two on fielder and kind of wasting Raiden potential in another team.
Ayato+Miko+(Raiden/ Fischl)+any anemo. If you need a healer, go for Jean/Sucrose with prototype.
C6 fishl, or if you have raiden definitely use her instead. Fischl is ok, what they dont tell you is having to bring out her bird gets old real fast.
I'm using the F2P Kageushi at the moment, kind of considering using the weapon banner given my primos are still healthy... But I think I honestly would rather get another character than try for a weapon just yet. Thanks for the analysis!

If his ult is so hard to recharge, why not slap 4 pc shimenawa and focus more on his swift slashes from the E skill?

Thank you so much for this guide. One thing for sure about this handsome as hell guy is that his skill and burst are pretty simple. Only normal attacks are needed when casting ele skill so I don't have to think too much on how to utilize him on my team. And I whaled just to get him but man how he is worth every penny I spent on this game 👍🏻

I tried him in another comp. Double hydro with xingqiu, Jean and Bennett. The hydro resonance is slightly overkill on the heals but it helps ayato stay topped up if you want to use harbinger of dawn. The Bennett buff plus VV shred with Jean (from xingqiu rainswords) had me dealing consistent damage all around (+/- 17k per auto with harbinger, 22k with jade cutter). If, like me, you have lost several 50/50s to her, Jean's c2 provides a substantial buff and lets you deal a few extra hits in without losing much damage. Shimenawa's reminiscence is also a viable set since it boosts his normal attack by 50% for 10s and allows you to set up for another rotation with the downtime on his E without losing much damage(xingqiu E does wonders with VV shred). I tried it in Abyss and my clear time was in line with my raiden national team.
Confused about the Echoes of an Offering Artifact set. It states "When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite".
So does that only apply to Ayato's NORMAL attack, or does it also apply to his attacks after you pop the Elemental Skill?
Ayato's elemental skill hits is considered Normal Attack. The only thing that is considered as elemental skill is his clone burst (hence why he can't trigger sac sword with his slash).

Been maining kokomi since her release and wanted to switch things up a bit. Got him 15 wishes after getting Keqing totaling 77 wishes, tazer and freeze teams are my go to so I hope he turns out greattt

he's very versatille, he may be not the best option in team comps (for now, we don't know if something meta will come up) but he works well in a lot of teams, and have a lot of artifact options. on top of that he is so fun to play and sexy!

Being devastatingly honest: Xingqiu is better [Even a healer is a main dps with Crit rate 70+ & Crit DMG 200+] AYATO: weak against enemies with teleport, long distance, fast movement or shield, also does not provide good support in reactions... He is not for me.
I think he is better in permafreeze teams

Yeah the electro healer is a must for electro charged teams. There’s only a minimal amount of combinations u can do with them w/o one yet it’s such a powerful team comp

After getting Ayato I test him on abyss floor 12 and still complete it with full star. I like the Fluidity of his play style.
1st: Raiden, Beidou, Ayato and Xingqiu
2nd: Zhong, Ning, Benny and Xiangling
I love the DPS Swapo Rotation if Ayago and Raiden. I also don't encounter any Problems in Completing the floor 12. To make sure and to practice him with his comp I did it 4x and Completed it with no Problem.
11:27 Hu Tao is a Hypercarry, so perfecting her is more useful than perfecting Ayato

His Burst doesn't fit well with his elemental skill, and the water bunshin doesn't make sense with all his kit.

His skill duration is 6 seconds and his burst is 18 sec so he can't really take advantage of the normal attack bust that well. If your timing is perfect, you can have a 12-sec bust from burst on his skill which is unrealistic because like I said timing has to be perfect. You also want him to be on the field as little as possible because of his energy generation passive.
I think his skill duration is the biggest issue for him because he has problems with synergizing with Beidou who has 15-sec duration for her burst.

Your argument sounds like he should be main dps only, which is further make him non future proof lol
