Alex Sitaras Heh, on the internet barely anyone is civil. I've seen many arguments on their channels about related topics where people's "arguments" degrade into curse fights. The audience is probably more civil, but in any conversation (TH-cam is a conversation too, from video creator to audience and back again through comments) it is best never to talk about money, politics, or religion. And philosophy grazes (at least) two of those three. Although I think it would be really cool and enlightening, I somehow doubt that others would think so. :(
When I was little, my parents both worked most of the day, so I spent a lot of time at my grandmother's house. I started calling my grandma "mamma" like I did for my mother because, in my small child mind, they were the same kind of person because they both played the same kind of roles in my life. I knew that one was my grandmother and the other was my mother but they were both "mamma"
That's helping me a lot to understand Piaget. God, can someone please tell me why by simply looking this video I understand more than in class which are so boring that I have to doodle to avoid falling asleep? Why?! How can it be that a video can tell you more than a school lesson??
Well, I'd say it's because he does simplify it a lot (it is a CRASH COURSE after all), which probably helps. I'm studying this stuff for my exam right now and we have to go into MUCH more detail than that (also I'm a bit sad that Vygotsky is only barely mentioned, but I guess you can't have it all).
Because we as humans learn more efficiently when the way the information is being presented is appealing to us. You'd think schools would have figured that out by now. People would retain a lot more of what they learned about if they did.
well the less emotion could be a symptom of depression. depression isnt necessarily being sad but rather a lack of feeling. this is why some depressed people cut themselves because they want to see if they can still feel.
Emotions aren't associated with depression. I remember reading somewhere that depressed people cut themselves to gain some control of themselves. Depression causes some emotions, but emotions don't cause depression. XD I can't explain it, just ignore me....

Doing this will allow you to reach a broader audience and demographic alike. As a result they may even subscribe to your youtube channel. Any way, great work on these and i hope to hear a response, albeit big youtube accounts seldom reach out and respond to their viewers.

When I go back and watch the visuals, I find that the Thought Cafe stuff is super-delightful, but I can testify that it is not necessary to get a lot of value from the videos. This was so interesting it took me a while to realize I recognized the subject matter. I guess my psych prof didn't have a stuffed Hanklerfish to give an example of object permanence... your videos seem like they're taken directly from the Psychology 110 text book... they've helped me when studying for tests and quizzes enormously. Watching your videos is a far superior way for me to learn as apposed to sitting in the Psych 110 lecture hall and listening to our instructor. Will you be doing more videos for more advanced Psych class levels?

YES! Piaget! He was the topic of my senior project in high school (which makes sense since I focused on developmental psychology)! Fun fact, he was a malacologist -- that is, one who studies mollusks. :D
This video is awesome. I only wish it had been created and posted a couple months ago, when I was taking my intro to psychology class (Sophomore in college). We covered a lot of these topics, and this video would have greatly helped! Its still a nice refresher to watch now though ;D
I love his theory however I remember also learning that certain percentage of each category were for each age group and the level matched up with the average. For example, a teen could be at the college level however there is only a 20% chance in comparison to the 70% of the regular teen level. Similarly, there could also be teens on the child's level but only 15%. This concept really helps me understand how people my age think and that even though we have the same education at the same level, we can still process information differently and thus have an easier or more difficult time learning.

I'm only 7 minutes into this video and you've summarized an entire section of a chapter that is taking me hours to read all the way through. I almost want to use my tests scores to quantify how powerful this form of education through instructional, public videos is... the vocabulary is astoundingly similar, which makes sense of course assuming I can watch these videos and score well on the chapter review guides. Of course I'll have to read the textbook afterwards anyway to verify the true preservation of information. So my hypothesis would be I really only need the testing software that the online services provide from the textbook company and the videos to succeed on a real test and I can make a reasonable judgement before I take said real test by accounting the inconsequential but stated indispensable testing material and compare it to my textbook only tests I've already taken.

I probably have forgotten of course, but I don't remember myself thinking any of those ways that he says all children go through. I never had a problem understanding the conservation and stuff like that, although of course I did have a little animism, heheh, everyone did, but I definitely never had the egocentrism though.

development psych is the best cos you get to watch videos of cute kids being dumb. Like in one video (its on youtube somewhere) theres a little girl and an experimenter and some cookies. The experimenter gives themselves two cookies, and the girl one cookies, and then asks the girl if thats fair. The girl says no, because she only has one and the experimenter has two. The experimenter then breaks the girl's cookie in half and asks the girl whether its fair now, and she goes "yeah". It's super cute :3
