- I’ve been loving my new Nespresso coffee machine and want to share with you guys how I make my own coffee and become my own barista every morning. This coffee machine has motivated me to wake up early in the morning to look forward to having my cup of coffee for the day. What is the difference between a long ristreto and a normal expresso? Are the two drinks made at a different temperature?

Alison, loved your review. We just bought this machine after Thanksgiving. Your tutorial is very helpful indeed. I was disappointed to see there was no regular or American choice available. We found this out after the fact. Any thoughts ? I tried running a dark roast on Lungo setting twice but the taste left a lot to be desired.

Hi! Thank you for the video! Can you update on whether you still like the machine? I’ve read that other people have issues with the milk frother wand not working after awhile so I’m wondering if you experienced any problems with it
Hi Stephanie, till this day I still love the machine and I use it every single day. I don't have issues with the milk frothed wand with this machine but I see it happens to alot of other nespresso machine. That is also why I decide dto go with this specific machine. Tho I make sure I wipe it down with wet cloth every time I finish using it and have it double rinse it (by using steam function). Once in awhile, it will get stuck on the steam wand bottom holes and machine will notify you to use the pin (underneath the water tank) to clean them. Also make sure to descale it once a month.

Great video. I would just say that you should not put more water through pods than recommend because you will drag out burnt ,bitter flavours and ruin the taste.
Use the smallest recommended water setting for the pod , Then add more hot water only or hot milk to required levels . If you prefer stonger coffee use a Lungo pod or use a second pod to increase strength,lets face it even 2 pods is still much cheaper compared to buying your coffee from a shop.
Thanks for the tips! I've changed my pods to recommended level and it does get a stronger coffee flavor with milk. Love it!
I’m a little confused with nespresso capsules. What kind of capsules will I need to make a latte or a cappuccino?
Hi Diana, for this machine I'm using their capsules called "original" which is a smaller size compared to the other kind.

Hello! I had another question - did you find your inner white drip tray to stain from coffee drips? That was my main worry about the white creatista.
yes i does stain a little but i also try to clean everytime after single use and put a tissue paper on the area that it drips.
Is the outside of the machine glossy white or matte white? It looks matte. Thank you.
Hi Ivan, the white part of the machine has that matte finish texture but it has a hint of glossy look.

@@AlisonHadip I make lovely flat whites with mine. I use Starbucks Espresso Roast pods and oat batista milk- delicious; I often can't stop at 1 cup!!
For the used pods to be recycled, do you clean them first or just put in storage as is? If as is, aren't they going to smell bad or grow mold after piling it up for quite some time? I always throw away the used pods, afraid they might become spoiled and smell bad.
Hi there, I sent my used capsule without cleaning them. As nespresso stated they will separate the coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule and transform the coffee grounds into green energy or nutrient-rich compost. Then, the empty capsules are heated to melt off the plastic coating and will recycle the pure aluminum that remains :)

How long have you had this machine for now and are you still totally happy with it? Have you had any issues?
I had it a little over a year now and still loving it and still get excited to make my cup of coffee to start my day with this machine! Worth it!!!!

So there’s no setting available on this machine to make a regular full cup of black coffee? 8-12oz of just black coffee without any foam that I can add a splash of creamer to?
Yes you do! There is an espresso, lungo setting in the beginning. Those are the black coffee options!
Alison Ha yeah that’s the one I use but it’s still very little coffee. Guess I’m just used to the carafe 🤷🏻♀️
MeteoricMarlin the vertuo line by Nespresso makes “American” coffees as well as espressos so normal coffee sizes:)
@@AlisonHadip but that's just an espresso run longer. You can then add more hot water to make an Americano, but that's not 'a regular cup of brewed black coffee'. :-)
Does this machine have Americano setting?
I believe it doesn't have Americano setting, it only comes with ristretto, espresso, lungo and macchiato setting on the machine

Since this is only my second coffee machine I’ve used. I can only refer to my previous experience from my Keurig coffee machine, in my opinion they are very easy to clean and less complicated compare to Nespresso machine. I hope this would help!

Two reusable Keurig coffee cups. I bought McCafe coffee and Cafe bustelo coffee. I use the Cafe bustelo for espresso shots. And the McCafe coffee for coffee. Mix them. Froth some half and half. Me and my chihuahua are having a coffee party over here 😁 (The coffee is so strong I'm sweating 👏) Love & Respect everybody!

You should not be pushing so much water through those nespresso capsules. They are meant to produce a 40ml espresso shot and by putting so much water through them you are ruining the coffee. If you want a bigger drink then use more capsules...

Alison Ha You’re not ruining the coffee. Some pods are meant for bigger water. Different people, different coffee making. Latte = espresso + milk , Americano espresso plus hot water , Lungo = longer extraction on one pod. Go online, they have different ounces like ristretro, espresso, lungo and americano. Nespresso sells LUNGO pods meant for lungos but it’s definately up to your tasting.
Your mug is too big for that slide out tray. The slide out tray was meant for very small espresso cups.
Thanks for pointing it out! I like to fit a 8 oz cup on top tray to prevent the coffee from splashing while the machine is making the coffee. I've been doing this for a few months and I don't have issue the cup falling and waggling. 🤔
Anyone noticed that the title of the video says Nespresso but the machine has the Breville name/logo? Good Lord!! 🤣
