You guys are very lucky to find a martabak seller using a "brazier stove" for cooking, because not many martabak sellers use this stove, and the resulting taste is very authentic 👍

Have you found the answer on the sunrise viewing?
For those who want to do sunrise viewing, it's not at Borobudur. It's at a hill near it. You get to see the sunrise with the Borobudur temple as a foreground.
I stayed in Borobudur area for about two months more than a decade ago. You have to wake up very early, hence why I never did it.
Taz reminded me of an old crush. Lol.

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple in the world, located on Magelang, Central Java.
Angkor Wat is the largest Hindu / Hindist temple in the world & the 2nd largest Hindu temple is Prambanan on Yogyakarta.
Yes Indonesia so masive, 17.000 islands. Need atleast 47 year to visit each island per day.
That Martabak Manis using most traditional method & that so good.

There is actually something unique about visiting Borobudur temple. For those who look at the Menoreh mountains on the south side of Borobudur temple, visitors will see from a distance an amazing silhouette, namely the silhouette of a sleeping Buddha. which will be seen when viewed while at the top of the temple.... Don't forget for those who go to the temple, don't miss seeing the sleeping Buddha naturally in the Menoreh mountains.

You have hit the jackpot by ordering Martabak Manis as dinner/dessert. It's sinful but delicious at the same time LOL. Foreign tourists usually buy both Martabak Telor (savory) and Martabak Manis just to make comparison. If you are into savory side, then Martabak Telor is your thing. Choose the one with DUCK egg (Telor bebek) if possible. Give it a chance next time while in Indonesia. You won't regret it!

Borobudur Temple was built during the Syailendra kingdom with King Samarotungga, built in 825 AD (9th century), at that time the special population on the island of Java was Buddhist & Hindu,... that is why in several places in Java Buddhist and Hindu temples were found, Then in the 14th-15th century, Islam entered Java, pioneered by the Wali Songo (nine pioneers).

In Javanese regions, martabak manis is called Terang Bulan, a moonshine cake. That's because originally it was served in round shape and not being cut like nowadays. The topping was also butter and cheese, to give the yellowish colour like a full moon.

to answer your question about the sunrise in borobudur, before the covid they used to sell a sunrise package that you can bought the day before or booking it for a specific day, but they closed it due to the pandemic, and to make it even worst afer they reopening it then there was so many incidents that the visitor messing around with the stupa, so they had to closed it again. i think its just a month ago they finally open the borobudur for public, before that you cant enter the temple, u still can visit it tho but just walkin around the side..

Ankor Wat originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire by King Suryavarman II during the 12th century, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the century.
But people still describe it as a hindu temple and compare it to Prambanan temple.

Minutes 2:23 you can book the ticket online, so you just need to show your e-ticket & scan it to enter the temple's area before sun rises. There are always gate keepers for blind-morning visitors who want to witness sunrise on top of the temple...
