That submarine was constructed in 1952. The "Tahun Pembuatan" is the construction year. In 1962, Russia donated the submarines along with a big armada of naval vessels and aircrafts to Indonesia, during Papua conflict.
It forced the USA to push the Netherlands giving up their claim to West Papua and started the handover as mandated by the Round Table Conference in 1949.
So that's a Russian submarine.

16:10 That building was before the Dutch clubhouse, or Sociëteit. There were big ballroom inside and a hall with live music.
That clubhouse became a symbol of Dutch racism since there was a plate stating that "No dogs and natives are allowed inside". The plate was displayed right at the main entrance.
That building is changing rules and functions after the independence, from a Naval Office, to Police Office and then as the Youth Hall (Balai Pemuda) since the late 1960s. A cinema was opened at one section of the building before it was turned up into a public library extension in the 2010s.

If you are still in Surabaya, just try to visit Kodam Night Market. That's a local night market just in the field of the Military Headquarter in Surabaya. About hundreds of food stalls are there with some local rides for children. It's so safe there, also amusing.

For me, TP is the most equipped mall in surabaya. Although the biggest 1 is actually pakuwon mall in west surabaya. I enjoy watching the video and watching you going to tp remind me of my college day. Hope you enjoy Indonesia

Wow look nice whether and City. doing a bit research, Surabaya is very well known city in our history, British troops were deployed to topple down Indonesian army and heroic people of Surabaya, however they failed to do so, two British General, Aubertin Walter Sothern Mallaby and General Symonds were killed during strong battle in Surabaya, it's was really shocking Europe, due to the British generals were one of top-ranking generals who fought in World War Two in Africa, Europe and India and elsewhere. that's why we call Surabaya is the city of heroes. (Kota Pahlawan). National slogan until now 'freedom or death'. Arek Suroboyo (young Surabayan people is proud of this battle) to show that modern weaponry cannot defeat the spirit of Peoples's freedom.
