Most interesting. Having lived in Maarssen, Netherlands, close to Utrecht for years, I always wondered about the sound of the ships in the canal. Some produce a sound like this Lanz Bulldog. I visited a shipyard museum recently, where I found information about this type of engine.
erstens die wärmelampe wird immer vor fahrtantritt abgenommen zweitens die anfangs höhere leerlaufdrehzahl ist dem standgashebel geschuldet drittens ja es ist ein ritual einen lanz bulldog zu starten viertens der lanz eilbulldog ist und war die luxusklasse unter den von lanz gebauten bulldogs es gab ihn wie hier ich sage mal kabrio variante und in einer komplett überdachten variante und dieser hier ist ein besonders liebevoll restaurierter eilbulldog

I love how long the whole process takes. Imagine doing that every day, but it didn´t matter, because you were working 18 hours anyways...
