D2 is expensive, but, I do NOT use a garden sprayer to apply it. I use a spray bottle like you. It doesn’t take a lot to clean the stones. Once cleaned, I give it a final spray and leave town. The next year they are beautifully clean!! I cleaned 31 (2 huge 8ft) stones with a gallon and had a about one inch left in the gallon when I left town. I donated the rest to another person there in the cemetery. His stone is so nice! Thank you for honoring him!!! ❤

I'm impressed by your technique. Working top to bottom so the dirt doesn't just resettle on the lower part.

I enjoyed this a lot! There are two other grave cleaners, " Past Preservation " and " North Central" who clean with orvus first and then spray with d2 at the end. It makes sense to help get the dirt off first. Have you gone bacj after a week or two and notice any difference in the stone? Because you have to give d2 time to work. So others will do what you did then put an updated photo after several weeks or months. When you cleaned first with the brush with orvus and then went back with the "toothbrush". It was satisfying seeing the dirt come off when you washed the lettering! Great job! There are others i watch who kist use d2 and i like their methods as well. " Healthy Headstones". She is not on Facebook right now because there a problem with her channel. But she is on youtube and maybe even tic tock. However its spelled!.... you are enjoyable to watch. Alot of ppl like hearing the history about the person whose stone your cleaning. Its admirable. Its a selfless job to clean and honor them! Some ppl speed up the cleaning process so the video finishes with the end of their history. I dont find that to be enjoyable.

You are going to love using that Orvus. It really takes the junk off so the D2 can attack the pores in the stones harder. It doesn’t have to waste it’s power on the stuff Orvus will take care of. I have black mold and it works well on that. You have a god bit of that green mossy mold though. I hope you see great results using the Orvus. I have seen much better results since I added Orvus (fairly recentlhy too) to my arsenal. As I have said before, keep it up, you’re doing fine!

Thank you - I am going to try orvus on several stones and see how it works best.

@@graveconcerns I'm going to start using wet and forget to clean and D2 for final spray.

How is the Orvus working for you? Do you have any after photos? I used Wet and Forget for the first time today. I soaked the stone in it and will go back in 2 weeks and see how it looks. I'm trying to cut back on using so much D2. It is very expensive but works better than anything else for me.

Another one preserved for the future. Is there a local museum you can leave the details with of the stones you have cleaned and what you found out about them as it would be a shame to do all that research and it not be recorded for future generations.

One down - thousands to go lol. Well for now I still have this documented in the videos. We will see what happens down the road? I know I need to revisit all of these graves and place flags by them.
