Shawn is the most beautiful man on the planet. I am so in love with him and he is so talented for real! Mad love for Shawn and yes this is an amazing version of Purple Rain.
Not a dry eye in the house when Shawn sings. But nobody was sad. Joyful tears. Got to see him a dozen times or so. Every time I would be in a good mood all week knowing the show was coming.
It saddens me that it took me until this man had already passed to discover his music. This is what being a musician is about, and words can't express what I would have given to see him live. Long live Shawn❤

This is the most beautiful rendition of this song. What a tragedy he never got his dues. The best voice to come out of Seattle, bar none.
The dynamics on this performance are so good. Pauses, inflections, loud, soft. He was truly a master. Rest in Peace, Shawn Smith. So much love.
