It’s astonishing to me that this band only made it to a “Big in Japan” band, because they’re a fantastic formula as a musical entity. All four members boast exceptional talent, the songs are well composed and the lyrics are interestingly thought out. Mr. Big deserved to have the whole world love them.
I hate it when people compare all of todays TH-cam bassists to Billy! Yes, you have some technically great bassists on TH-cam, but they’re stage presence, performance and color will never and I mean never compare to this legend!
I have my reservations about Billy, but I can’t help but love his bass playing, the guy is a fucking monster. Frankly I dont think I’ve seen a bass player with better technique than Billy; he blows me away with his bass solos, it’s absolutely ridiculous.
Unthinkable actually. A powerhouse vocalist like Eric Martin, an exceptional drummer like Pat Torpey, a one of a kind bassist like Billy Sheehan and a pyromaniac guitarist like Paul Gilbert should’ve put this band on top of the world. Not saying they didn’t do well, but they could’ve done even better.
Hope you made it to their shows at least once. I did 3 times, all of them were an incredible experience. They sounded perfect every time, they are the most professional band.
Saw them at Hammerjacks on this tour. I was familiar with Billy Sheehan from Talas and the DLR band, but this band was awesome. RIP Pat Torpey he was a badass drummer

Pat was the unsung hero of Mr. Big. He had it all: chops, musicality, inventiveness, great vocals, songwriting and good looks
