Interesting video about Windows Vista. The operating system had a bad reputation în the beginning then it got more love later. The start button menu and the interface look good. Amazing job! 👍
I used Windows Vista as my main OS for about eight months. It ran pretty good. (except for that one time where I had about 10 windows open and the RAM skyrocketed and the computer froze, but whatever...)
Windows Vista was great. I used Vista in my school and on my home computer and it was an amazing experience. I used RTM and SP2. Aside from the BSODs i used to get rarely on RTM i really loved Vista i wish it was still supported to this day Vista🤝Seven
Vista in 2007 : Terrible! Never again. Vista nowdays : Dang i miss this operating system... 😣😣😣 Austin Evans : Never make me use vista again (what a looser)
Solid case study. Longhorn's development was surely a difficult one, but it turned out to create something that, at least I think of it, better in many ways. The release was way ahead of its time with the requirements and features, considering the requirements stood for more than 10 years until the release of Windows 11. I also want to add about what you said in Vista Dies Part 15, with the fact PCs wouldn't be this powerful without the release of Vista and would remain very underpowered. The OS is definitely a gift and not a mistake. Good job in making this!
Windows Vista is not bad, People hated it cause of the Extreme High Requirements, But when I ran it in a VM it was not lagging at all I ran the VM on Windows 11, But I know that Windows Vista ran bad on the other computers and Service Pack 2 fixes these problems. I like Windows Vista more than 7 cause it's Aero design looks better than 7.
I loved the look of Vista. It was just a resource hog and needed admin permission every 10 seconds for some random task. The Remote Desktop was a nightmare for security too.
17:09 might that be the GTX 745 making the noise? I also used to have that GPU and I seriously hated it so much. It's really loud from what I recall and it's performance is beyond awful nowadays.
Windows Vista was performing great on a Core 2 Duo PC at the time. It's true that you couldn't run Windows Vista properly on a Pentium 3 PC with 512MB RAM or a 64MB GPU. Furthermore, the x64 version had tremendous issues, the x86 was fine. With SP2 there were no more issues. I have to remind some people that when Windows XP RTM released, they had several security issues and bugs that became extinct where SP2 released, I still remember myself keep using Windows 2000 even after Windows XP SP1 became available. Another mistake that some people make is that Windows XP released on the last days of October 2001 and Windows Vista on the last days of January 2007. It is 5 years and 3 months, not even close to six years. We have to admit that Windows Vista is the basement of what we saw in the following years, it was a revolutionary version of Windows which is unfair to be compared with Windows ME as a bad version. Windows ME had some features that were later included in the following versions of Windows but the Vista "core" is still in Windows 11. It was just an OS version that it looked like too heavy for the most of the computers back in 2006 and 2007, due to the fact that for 5-6 years you didn't need to upgrade your CPU, just your RAM and your GPU, because the requirements of the programs didn't need something more for several years. That's my analysis.
Honestly... most of the journalists who write about "Why is Windows Vista So Bad" have never used Windows Vista once. Windows Vista itself is not bad, only Microsoft is bad. July 9, 2023 4:03AM
Windows vista wasn’t fully the fault, it was the hardware people would run it on that caused the bad reviews. I run windows vista on a i7 2630qm with 16gb of ram on a ssd and it’s a champ!
I find it interesting that most modern games like No Man's Sky, Fallout 76 and Cyberpunk 2077 all went the way of Vista (horrible buggy messes at launch, then became really good when the updates and years went by).
About the fan- Did you check inside the Optiplex? I have an Optiplex 780 which had a broken hard drive, and I found out why real quick… the hard drive fan melted into the hard drive pcb, all cotton-candy style.
I use Windows Vista and Windows 7 on the same computer. Vista operates much better and runs much faster than 7 while both OS versions are technically equivalent regarding the system requirements and also, they work exactly under the same conditions(same adjustments, same program installations, etc). Could you explain that? I'm not in the Twilight Zone after all. However, the most important reason why I love Vista is the fact that it includes the best MS Paint software(at least to me). I'm an electronics engineer and the MS Paint version of Windows Vista gave me the ability to develop a unique method in order to create the schematics of my electronic circuit designs without needing any of the so-called specialized PC programs for electronic design. Of course, working on this project wasn't easy in the beginning and its delelopment took some time. The most difficult part was to find a standard formula in order to create each one of the pictograms which represent the symbols of the electronic components and after this laborious process I was able to create multiple copies of them within a folder(something like a "library" including catalogs of ready icons). Now the application of this idea is practical, simple and also entertaining. It's like using my own unique CAD software among 7 billion people on this planet even though this is not the case because Microsoft is the manufacturer of this software and I just invented a way that makes it useful for my objective. I tried to do the same work by using the MS Paint version of Windows 7 but it was practically impossible for many reasons and therefore, the 7 version turned out to be just a worthless piece of crap for my needs. So, this is my story and I will always love Windows Vista.
I am from the rare occasions that never used windows XP. We had in the house a pc with windows Me from 2000-2007 and in 2007 we bought a Very good unit with windows Vista on, my uncle had a pc with windows xp and when i went for a visit to my cousins i sat a lot in their pc.. I never had a problem with windows Vista and i like them till today and never could understand the craziness with XP...
I do not see why Vista would be that bad. I have installed it on VirtualBox and usually runs really well. Windows Aero is very bugged just like on Windows Seven which I installed on VBox as well but I have reached a conclusion that Windows Vista is indeed an easy, intuitive and good OS that can be listed in "The Very Good Operating Systems" list with others of his predecessors and sucessors. Personally, I think that Windows Vista wasn't a failure, it was instead something genius with a wonderful UI and well performance which was only turned upside down and only had to be adjusted to what the other of his own were settled.
Windows Vista in my opinion is the best first generation modern PC you could get... Still today fortunately Microsoft fixed all issues with drivers and even today I use the system very often
It was because... Windows Vista was too advanced for anyone's PC, so no one could run it properly in 2006. Windows Vista got better by Service Pack 2 in 2009, but by then, it was too late even though more computers could run Vista, it's reputation was already damaged. it got so bad, that Microsoft did the Mojave Experiment, which they had participant think they were running a new Windows Mojave, and they liked it, but it was really Windows Vista. Windows 7 had a better reputation because they cleaned up alot, which made Windows 7 lighter than Vista
Vista failed because they rushed it to market too soon---they didn't have the bugs worked out yet. When they released Vista SP 3 (otherwise known as Windows 7), it worked perfectly
It's weird to call it "in depth analysis" while using extended kernel. In my experience, Vista had one disadvantage. I downloaded Vista around 2017, but before support ended. Everything was ok, I was even surprised that Vista was more beautiful than 7 by itself, not even mention Dreamscene. But problems started with flash player installer. Long story short - some programs need to be run with administrator rights, some - WITHOUT admin, some - with a checkbox for admin in the compatibility tab, some - WITH dwm, some - WITHOUT dwm, some needs to be launched from cmd. And finally, you need to unlock each downloaded file through properties. I don't know why they did this, it makes no sense. My pc was core 2 duo e8400, 3 gb of ram ddr2 667, infamous seagate 7200.11 500 gb(or 7200.12 because .11 was broken, can't remember), 8800 gt 384 mb.

Windows Vista wasn't bad, the computers at that time were bad, i mean how would you run windows and other softwares in a computer that has 512 gb ram, vista is a great operating system, when windows 7 released, people liked it more because it was the same windows like vista but changed some visuals and removed some useful softwares, the difference was that windows 7 was released in 2009 where there were more powerful PCs. When vista was released in 2007, my uncle had an old PC with windows XP, he in 2007 bought a 2007 Vento CPU and a 2007 HP monitor and in that computer, windows Vista was installed, he used windows Vista in his PC very well without any problems, he also used it in his laptop, until he installed windows 7 when it was released in 2009 on that same PC .

Interesting video about Windows Vista. The operating system had a bad reputation în the beginning then it got more love later. The start button menu and the interface look good. Amazing job! 👍
I had a better experience with Windows Vista in 2008/2009 than last year with Windows 11 (I finally got back to Windows 10)
At the end Windows Vista was and is one of the most underrated Windows versions at all. I've tried it with SP2 and it was pretty decent.
Try the release version and you will see why it was so "underrated".

As someone who has used Vista Ultimate before( I've now upgraded to 7) I can confirm nothing is wrong with it. In fact, I wanna go back.

Hi vista, it's me, your ol' pal 7! I saw your channel and some videos with me in there, so i made this channel dedicated to you, my old friend Vista!
