Thats what separates them from everyone else, they are not trying to be the fastest, most powerful or whatever, plenty of others do that already. What they are about is art on wheels, every single piece of engineering is meant to reflect something and is a work of art. These cars hold a special place in automotive world, and Pagani is a brand unlike any other.
This is by far, eventhough it has its own futuristic-steampunk-swiss watch thing look which may not be to everyone's liking, the most beautiful looking car i've ever seen lately
And that's why art is subjective, cause while I can appreciate the design and detail and refinement, I think it's one of the ugliest hypercars I've seen in a while haha. Now the new collaborative concept Alisea, that is utterly beautiful.
Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, because to me the most beautiful car ever made is the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB 😍 Its a car that I would walk down to my garage every night before bed to simply pull out a chair, sit down and stare at my car for an hour, with a huge smile on my face and cup of tea in my hand.
For real. At first glance I liked the previous car better, but 20 mins later I feel quite conflicted which I like more. But I honestly believe the last one was an absolute perfect masterpiece. And that can’t really be “topped”. Both are stunning.
In my opinion, Pagani and Koenigsseg have the most beautiful hypercars ever! Masterpieces! Perfect combination of luxury, classic, exclusivity and performance!
Not much performance once you start to use them 'as intended' I'm sure. Could you imagine these things doing a full track day? They are just show pieces, like 3D paintings
Waau. I bought my first Pagani in 2000. I was in a shop buying groceries. As a toy collector, I always passed the toy section where I saw this master piece. The name was unheard of, so I put it back but hid it way down behind other cars. This "thing" kept bothering me, so the next day I went back and bought it. Never looked back. That was my first 1:18 Pagani Zonda. Still have it. Love from Africa.
Absolutely unbelievable! The noise sounds like a Zonda mixed with a Huayra. I definitely wasn’t convinced on the Utopia at first but after seeing a few in person and this video I’m absolutely in love 😍
Your growth as a car journalist truly shows in what you have shown to the world. This is such a true work of art this car . You need one in your collection . Welldone on your success
The steampunk-ish looking interior looks quite spectacular ngl. It's one of the things that really set this hypercar apart from offerings of pretty much all other hypercars.
First of all, I would like to say, ("Thank you") to Shmee for showing us this beautiful work of art. I will say that this ("Pagani Utopia) is the MOST BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN of an Ultra Refines Hypercar, I have ever seen. This is my first time seeing this vehicle. Immediately, I could tell that the refinement was 100% spot on from the door opening to the interior. When I first saw the interior I was blown away; by the perfection, fit, and finish. Not to mention the craftsmanship, which is, (hands down the best) in the hypercar market. The design principles used [in and out] in this Pagani; are the most thoroughly thought out, meticulously crafted, with the utmost precision of, (art and science), of any HYPERCAR in the world... I do not believe there is a car in the world, as refined as this hypercar. Pagani, "thank you" for making a hypercar that has shocked my senses most pleasantly. Shmee, "thank you" as well for showing us the genius of Pagani and his team.
Ever since it came out, the design, the manual gearbox. I knew this would be something special. Loved it since and after watching this video, I love it even more. I will work to get one in the future!
I absolutely love Pagani!! That's a manufacturer that truly love what the true essence of a car, not "SUV" is and they just combine the best timeless designs to the ethos!!! Truly badass!!
what I like about Shmee is that not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, he also knows how to properly drive these cars. You know if he gets one he will take care of it. He deserves a Utopia
Glorious! Driving this car is like living in a dream. Thank you for sharing it with us. To me, the 3 most beautiful super cars to ever grace 4 wheels are the Ford GT, the De Tomaso P72 and this, the Pagani Utopia.
Love seeing shmee drive more spiritedly! He usually is quite reserved when driving others cars but really seems to be pushing a little more here! I’m sure pagani told him to
My absolute favorite car in the world. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience. Living in North Carolina, I'll probably never see a Pagani in person.
If you had the money and you wanted to drive a performance car, you would never buy this. This kind of car is a show horse for events and otherwise stowed away.
This car is a masterpiece! There is no angle from which it looks less than stunning, no interior detail that looks anything other than a designer, bespoke version of itself. It's the sort of car that transforms the time spent around it; even a traffic jam becomes an opportunity for you to drink the interior (I'd be gazing into those gorgeous blue dials) while everyone outside the car gets an extended view of it's inspired exterior design. The fact that it doesn't intimidate, as these cars almost inevitably do, is just the icing on the cake. A "usable" hyper-car?
I've always massively admired Pagani, especially their attention to detail and the artistry and quality of the materials they use, but I've never truly lusted after a Zonda or Huayra (apart from the R models). That's now changed. The Utopia's design grabs me in a way the design of the previous two didn't, it's fucking gorgeous.
This is so exotic...that interior craftmanship is the best in business, like Bugatti Chiron interior is also top notch...and then we have this engine, a V12 in a hypercar is a rare siht nowadays, this and Zenvo Aurora are the only turbocharged monsters...then NA hi-revving galore from AM Valkyrie and GMA T.50 💪 Pagani is so lightweight and beautiful 👌
Why? Automatics are much faster and you have no chance of killing the geatbox with a misshift. Too much power and old, cheap technology. Let us keep it in cheap cars though!
This vehicle has been the biggest surprise to me. I was first excited about it, then as the first reveal was taking place, I thought this vehicle to be a big let down, like I wasn't sure it had an identity, then, fast forward a couple years, I am revisiting the vehicle and am absolutely speechless. Im not sure what I was thinking during the initial press release, maybe I was thinking that the Pagani was trying too hard to be different. Now, having a couple years to let it really marinate and I have completely been sold. I love it, everything about it. I now cannot wait until mine arrives.
I’ve been watching his videos on 1.25 speed recently and it really helps get through the information dump he off loads before you get to the interesting stuff and actually drives the car!!
I wasn’t a fan of the Utopia but Shmee just changed that. Pagani owes you a gigantic thank you. Best Utopia review yet, all others missed the bar (by a lot).
I’ve never seen a car that says “don’t drive me, I’m art” and “look at the f’ing gearbox, drive me” at the same time. I do not like hyper cars but I love this.
26:16 Tim showing the biggest flaw of this car. If Pagani does not want a horizontal line, just slant it the other way around. And you can open and close the clamshell without having to open both doors. After three models, one would think Pagani could have done something about it.
Yes..that is a super car…in the way that Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati were considered 60/70 years ago…a car for the famous, the inspiring, the aspirational and the super rich. It doesn’t raid a parts bin and share bits with Skoda and Fiat….it is its own creation and that makes it almost certainly unique. I can never buy one but would if I could….much like I looked at Ferraris in those years…nice but impossible to be mine. Thank you Tim for taking us along for the ride…at least we can get an idea of how special this car really is.🙂🙂🙂
Shmee150 Absolutely Incredible Review I think it's awesome that you finally got to Drive that Absolutely Gorgeous and Incredible Pagani Utopia with a 7 speed dog leg manual and I think it sounds pretty awesome and I hope you'll get a chance to drive one with an Automatic Transmission
I struggled at first to compare this to is predecessors however the more you look at it the more it makes sense. It's own character supercedes what they done with the zonda in my humble opinion and I feel its the most beautiful of the 3 "models"
I’m happy that at least 1 company is focusing on making beautiful switches, dials, and buttons instead of just putting screens everywhere
They build Rolex while other brands build apple watch

Amen
This! Completely agree.
I love that this car even exists.
Rear wheel drive with 800+hp at the wheel. I will wait until someone wrecked it and then buy it.
lol Alfa Romeo accidentally creates Ferrari, then Ferrari accidentally creates Lamborghini, and then Lamborghini accidentally creates pagani
