To be honest, melonys debut being delayed from war of the simps to marios mask of madness seems like a good example of butterfly effect. Solely because the latter is based on a powerful mask (not sure if the fierce deity mask would have been used in Nathaniel bandy's waifu making machine or not. The genesis arc likely would have still happened, so smg3 would still be redeemed, smg4 would learn his origins, smg0 1 and 2 would still be introduced and meggy would still go on vacation to find her calling. The big difference is melony probably wouldn't have had god powers and the double helix sword, so she wouldn't have journeyed into the dark web to, help retrieve smg4s usb guardian pod, wouldn't have been able to help seal zero in the 10 year movie (or not as effectively), and most importantly wouldn't have had the god powers to go fierce deity mode after axols death (I still think they'd fall in love though as axol was infatuated regardless of the mask and melony came to appreciate his compassion for her). Thus the revelations arc wouldn't have happened (as she was needed to access the god box), that just leaves the question of who Niles would have latched onto instead after wotfi 2021 (as he latched onto melony's sub conscious after she defeated eldritch axol/zero. As a fan of majoras mask, I appreciate the reference with the fierce deity mask, and coming from the youtube arc where melony was just an anti meggy stand in, it was crazy seeing an entire character be made from the mask.
