This is awesome, congrats on being the first youtuber to do a pulp unboxing, very fun stuff. Amazing books as well. Well done Alex, hope to see more content soon.
@@AlextheComicHoarder I’m sure that I’ve seen some in the past, maybe at antique and charity shops. But no one seems to have caught onto them in the uk yet, at least not as a “collectible”. I’m definitely looking though.
Yeah. They really do. About 8-10 years ago I remember stumbling across a bunch or pulps in a small antique shop in Paducah KY. I thought they looked cool, but they weren’t comics so I didn’t pay much attention. I did appreciate the cover art, but that was it. I wish now that I would have bought them.
I picked a Marvel Science Stories #1 late last year at the Collector's Summit in Dallas. CGC was there to announce the upcoming pulp grading, and had graded samples that I was able to handle. Looking forward to having my copy graded.
Hi! New to your channel and new to comic book collecting. I was wondering what are those thick cases? I've bought a few thick comic books (compiled volumes) and was wondering how to keep them as clean and protected as possible
Do you have to be careful cleaning and pressing old pulps. My grandfather years ago had pulps plus early marvels and dc golden age up in the attic but was young at the time and didn’t know much about them just silver age. Wish I brought them back at the time. Plus he has horror books from that time.
Haven’t been buying too much. Really focusing any extra money on church and family. Trying to be smart and generous with my money, but I hope to make more videos soon.
It worries me more than getting a comic book graded. These things are so fragile. I wouldn’t want the cover to get a spine split or completely come off. Also there are so many pieces that could rip or come off. Every time I take a pulp magazine out of a bag, something seems to fall off of it. Pressing and cleaning was too much of a risk for me.
I’m here first for the very first CGC pulp unboxing. 📦
History is made here today my friend!!!!! I’m going to pin your comment.
Great find and good grades! Always nice to see these old comics and pulps getting graded.
Issue four has been on my short list for pulps. Girls in tubes! Thanks for the video Alex.
Those look great! Interesting that since they were found together, they all graded out similarly. Congratulations!
I suppose it's about time pulp grading became a thing. Love your enthusiasm for this often neglected part of collecting.

Just love the covers.
Fascinating stuff Alex, an awesome and informative video thanks!
Thank you my friend.
What a fantastic set! Congrats!
Really glad to hear this was a positive experience. Might have to send off a Weird Tales or two in the near future.
Weird Tales are so cool. And they certainly present really cool in the slabs.
These are so cool! They present REALLY well in the slab’s too. Great stuff Alex.
Thank you my friend. Do you find any pulps where you are?

Beautiful books. Congrats on the very first CGC pulp unboxing. I almost feel like sending off a few pulps myself.

I found them at an antique mall a few years ago.
I’m second. Sometimes second is best.
Second is perfect!!!

Ah man. Wonder where they ended up.
Where have you been, Alex?

You’re spending all that money getting them graded why wouldn’t you get them pressed and cleaned?
