Two weeks back I wanted to put seat covers in my car. I was searching for a vendor to fit the seat cover in my car. I handed over the cat to him at 10. I was told to come around 2. I called at 2 but I was told to come after 3.30. I reached at 4 even then the car was not ready.
this is no big deal. But when I checked the quality of the fitting. it was very bad.
There were issues all around the fitting like these:-
1. The driver and co-driver seat cover was not fitted properly. The iron thin rod which was taken out after turning my original seat cover was not put and hidden by the fitting person. On being firm he admitted it was forgotten to put the iron-thin rod back.
2. Mid-seat was a bigger tragedy. The top line was unevenly cut and wrongly stitched. it was fitted when it was clearly visible that the joint of the two large pieces of the fabric was not a straight line. When it was complained they try to prove me wrong and after an argument, they finally agreed to correct it.
3. The size of the seat cover which was tailored was smaller than the original seat. The fitter somehow fixed clamps that were clearly visible. the seat cover looked very shoddy and it was like jugaad small cover fitted to the car.
4. After a long argument finally they agreed that the seat cover is small and took the whole cover out and a patch was stitched again to increase the size of the cover which is again looking very bad. It became too late around 9 pm so I had to leave with whatever quality possible.
5. After a week today morning when I took the vehicle out (I do not use XUV daily) I found the stitched part was again ripped from the seat and the overall appearance was very bad. So I took the car to the shop again. When is reported the issue to the shop owner/ rep I was tried to be made convinced that this was like this only. When I opposed him that this has ripped out and it should not be like this he didn't agree and all staff present there started arguing and quarreling with me. They have used very foul language which is not acceptable.
I stay in Vasant Kunj if there has it been any issue I would have not gone so far just to meet him.
Finally, it is not about money it is about the trust which people around u build on such places. I do not want any kind of compensation.
finally, the car is in better condition but not satisfactory.
