Your build here looks absolutely amazing, id love to see it continued after the pack animals are finished. You've got a great river setting, so adding the beaver or something would be great if you decide to continue
At least all that rock placing was 100% worth it. You make the best nature I've seen in Planet Zoo. And of course the incredible VIBES 🙌 that come with it.
Oh this is still looking absolutely gorgeous! I'm really loving this whole build so far. This habitat for the horses is so pretty, with the stream and the rocks and the open patches of grass between the trees.... But wow, the rocks. So many rocks. I have so much respect for your patience with that. I'm also feeling the inspiration from Alan Wake and Firewatch (except for the open flames at the restaurant, haha) As for other buildings... Lots of parks will have the occasional outhouse, or cabins -- either for sleeping in, or for sheltering from bad weather, and things like that. Mostly small buildings scattered around, maybe a few camping cabins or lean-tos in a group at a designated campsite... Depending on just how long the park has been there, there might be an old logging mill or something somewhere, too, especially on the river. Anyway. Fantastic job. I certainly hope you're proud of it. I think the combination of building skills you've developed since PZ came out, with dedication to the inspiration and ideas you're following....and oh so many hours of work. You can really, really tell just how much effort you're putting into this. It's amazing.
I would LOVE huge rock slabs to help make cliff faces! The "random rotate all" is a good step, but jeez, even the big 4m rocks are just too small. **needs mountain-scaping help** Oh! The restaurant! So nice. Great build! C'mon, the fairy lights are fine. As for abandoned mining towns--I can recommend the TH-cam channel, "Forgotten and Abandoned Places," which is one fella who explores abandoned gold/silver/etc. mines in Nevada and Arizona. If you love rocks and geology, it's a good watch, as he talks about the geology and also is out looking for artifacts in some really remote mines (and he leaves them in place!) so you get a fascinating glimpse of history on a personal scale. Oh, would I love some rocks that looked like those gorgeous mines!
Alexa joins the conversation at the most random times, it always makes me laugh~ 25:00 Both adorable and weirdly intimidating. The whole area looks so nice, beautiful work!
The nearest Safari Park to me house 2 Przewalski's Horse which are housed in a paddock before you go into the Safari Park itself, the paddock used to house Common Zebra and Gemsbok (both have left the collection now). However the nearest Zoo to me also houses a herd of 6 Przewalski's Horse but at this zoo they are housed in a larger paddock with a lot trees and long grass in the zoo's Asia area (the paddock is next to to a passage through Asia car route which has Bactrian Camel, Pere David's Deer, Blackbuck, Fallow Deer and Sika Deer). I'm a member of this Zoo (linked to their sister site) but sadly I don't drive so I cant get to this zoo that much which is a shame as they have a large hoofstock collection which are my favourite). they have recently welcomed 1 Lowland Anoa, 2 Aardvark and 2 Porcupine to the Zoo. My favourite animals at this Zoo have to be the Indian Gaur (which are opposite the Red Panda and Otter exhibits), sadly they only have 3 Gaur now which is a shame because they are the only individuals in the UK and It seems the Gaur don't have a future at this zoo (being moved from their Asia section to a paddock near the Giraffe). Other rarities they have include Gemsbok (5), Sri Lankan Sloth Bear (1), Francois Langur (4- offshow) and Wolverine (2), they also have Bongo but recently there is only 1 left at the zoo and as of this month they only have 3 Grevy's Zebra left. Sadly in Recent years there have been a lot of species departures at this zoo include American Bison (there used to be a large herd on a hill), Moose, Grey Wolf, Kudu, Onager, Roan Antelope, Sea Lion, Squirrel Monkey, Impala, Lechwe, Axis Deer, Gazelle and Red River Hog.
Could do an enclosure in the burned section of the forest from Firewatch too? if you could, idk if that would work with what's in the game, but maybe for a predator?
i have to say, if you were to ever upload this zoo to the steam workshop whenever you finish it, i would _adore_ that! it looks extremely cozy already to just wander around in with explore mode (especially the road leading up to the entrance that you showed in the leopard video). no pressure for it ofc, especially since i know you pick up and put down zoo projects to keep from getting burnt out on them!
Random building ideas: Camping area (since it's a national park) Ranger station (you might've already mentioned this) Maybe some set piece/scene based upon how often people tend to go missing in national parks (might scratch the spooky build itch) Many national parks have large "fire danger" or "risk of fire" signs, sometimes featuring Smokey the bear.
Nice work on this. I used to stay with relatives right behind a zoo in the redwoods. They had ponies of some kind and a long massive catwalk over both the zoo and the redwood hiking trails. Redwood trees have of reddish-brown dirt at the base and loads of ferns. Lot of fishing communities nearby, anything and everything old fashioned (they have a video store that sells VHS, a horse drawn carriage, and some old victorian homes), lumber mills, fog, and bigfoot sightings.
Not sure how well it would work, but what about a run down research station? Less open air than the one from Firewatch, but still a big building that could have plants growing out of the windows or the door slightly ajar from time. Also, would highly recommend checking out The Vanishing of Ethan Carter for inspo- its more horror leaning but in the same "creepy" vibe as Firewatch. It takes place in a BEAUTIFUL forest and some of the buildings there are old homes, mines, a water treatment plant, and an abandoned train station
Love it again! The weird rocky bit just after the path leading too underneath the monorail, with the fat horse sculpture. I immediately saw a horse mouth with the big herbivore teeth. Also, crazy long shot but where the river exits into a cave could make for a great axolotl cave.
Fun Idea for a '-non-pack' Zoo, would be to build an zoo housing only the animals that you get reward statues for :) Great Video as always! Love your stuff, keep up the amazing work
A good habitat to reference for the siamangs might be the Land of Lemurs at the Calgary zoo. The larger lemurs have an indoor exhibit with a glass wall and indoor climbing, however during the day they are let outside into a free-roam habitat with a walkway inside for people. The outdoor area is sort of a series of little 'islands' connected with climbing frames, and the walkway is up at the level of the climbing things. Then the walkway dips down, and there's a ground pathway inside where the lemurs are so you can walk around with the lemurs.
im so impressed with this series the amount of effort, time, and thought put into everything is insane. i just got into planet zoo because of various build channels and I envy everyones ability to build and decorate
you could do a blueprint of a giant rock or rock wall. probably not ideal but at least better than starting from scratch all the time. that said - all the work you put in is def always worth it! beautiful build as always!
Currently laid up with covid, first time ever I've had it, first time I've been poorly in years. It's no joke. Love all of your PZ projects. Keep up the brilliant work. Single? Sorry, delirium 😳 Looking forward to the next instalment.
An idea for the siamang could be around the harbor. The ropes and things would be great for climbing and connecting two areas seperated by water. Would need two entrances for the keepers but would be a nice use for a fishing harbor that is no longer functional
This might sound farfetched but anyways maybe for the siamang exhibit could live in the tree houses like the ewoks and for the backstory an advanced tribe or kingdom made the houses as they believed the siamangs each time they called that meant good luck or smth and later the tribe or kingdom disappeared due to colonization and all that is left are the siamangs, their tree houses and ruins
speaking of wanting a rock sheet or cliff face item i think it'd be awesome if planet zoo introduced a mountain biome pack with mountain goats and Pallas cats (to name a couple of suggestions) and with that pack they included a rock and rockwork overhaul with big rocks, cliff faces, etc.
This speed build looks better than any exhibit I have ever created in any zoo building game, ever. And I've played since Zoo Tycoon. The first one. I give up...
Really like the videos Conor, the Leopard build and this Horse one are fantastic! After you finish with the conservation pack animals maybe you could consider adding the North America pack animals. I really liked the zoo you started with that pack and since this is a simillar one maybe you could add some of then here, for example in the fishing village that you mentioned maybe add the Sea Lion there i think it would look good. Really looking forward to your videos regardless 👍
You can also just call the horses the Takhi too as that’s what the local’s name for them is! Easier to pronounce too lol Wow it’s like you’re doing art with this!
Next you should build a walk through dinosaur trail thing like in that far cry mission you played on this channel. There is a packs on steam with a collections of dinosaur statues.
Bestinslot are you going to put orangutans with your siamangs like some zoos do or no? Either way I'm excited to see your next idea, your exhibits are always amazing.
So … if ‘cheval’ is ‘horse’ in french … is this a horse’s horse? Also, you can create a blueprint of stacked up rocks yourself for copy-pasting purposes to speed up your cliff building 🙂
This makes me sad i really wanna build in Planet Zoo a forest but my computer cant really run it i have bought a New PC but i forgot the steam Password and i dont have Planet Zoo on my New one but i cant buy it bc i dont have enought money😢
Instead of calling them Prezwalski horses we should start calling them takhi horses, it is the native Mongolian name for the “Prezwalski horse.” Prezwalski is the last name of a white western Russian army officer who came to Mongolia, shot a horse, and then decided to name the entire species after himself, so it’s kind of a disrespectful name. Plus Prezwalski is just so complicated to pronounce.
it's Przewalski, not Prezwalski, and we shouldn't "dumb down" a species' name just because someone has a problem with pronouncing a polish surname lol it's not that difficult if you put the tinies of efforts into it
@@juliakrol7186 how is it “dumbing down” anything? “Takhi” is what the actual people who have lived with these horses for a very long time call them. It means spirit. It’s not dumb in anyway?! I genuinely don’t really care about the pronunciation of “Przewalski,” I honestly think we should take all the animals that have irrelevant European names and replace them with their actual native names. It’s just feels incredibly disrespectful, especially when you name an entire species after yourself, that definitely shouldn’t be allowed anymore.
@@ryomahoffman6803 it is dumbing down if one of your arguments is that it’s too difficult to pronounce. Also Przewalski didn’t name the horse, only studied and took notes on the species. Someone else decided on the name 🤷🏻♀️
As a Canadian, I can confirm that horses are le horso. Bestinslot got in 100% accurate. :)
As a 2nd Canadian this is true
As a third Canadian I'm just gonna roll with this...
as a fourth canadian, no complaints here!
As an american, I have no clue.
I can confirm horses go NEIGH. yw
A lot of national forests have education centers. You could put the exhibit animal (maybe more than one) in it! Loving this build.
Your build here looks absolutely amazing, id love to see it continued after the pack animals are finished. You've got a great river setting, so adding the beaver or something would be great if you decide to continue

The balloon horse up on cliff looked like scar watching hyenas March 😂😂😂

Hey BIS, you could always try to add a log cabin if you want to add another building.
That's also a really great idea. I think a cozy little log cabin would really fit well with the big redwood forest vibe.

For other buildings, you could maybe do a large water tower. You see water towers in a lot of small towns here in America.
A little chapel would look so cute!!
this is absolutely amazing, I got this game thinking it was easy but I soon realized that it's difficult and that I suck at building.
This is gorgeous and I aspire to make something even half as good!
ID LOVE A ROCK WALL, they did it with the plant wall thing

I've got about 750 hours in Planet Zoo and this is literally the first time I've felt good about my exhibit building, if it helps..
I love it.
Maybe like an old woodcutters cottage or at least a wood pile ?
I actually like the fairy lights. It had an elven wedding sort of vibe. If it was too bright, can you dim them enough that it works for you?

Hi BestInSlot
Next you should build a walk through dinosaur trail thing like in that far cry mission you played on this channel. There is a packs on steam with a collections of dinosaur statues.
Have you tried to make a face wall and making that as an object to use for your other zoo??
Bestinslot are you going to put orangutans with your siamangs like some zoos do or no?
Either way I'm excited to see your next idea, your exhibits are always amazing.
Your story idea sounds a bit like how slime rancher handled the notes from Hobson … maybe site specific but the same narrator?
This is so good
When you say magical mistery tour, are you making the beatles reference or is just random???
Are you gonna do a showcase on prehistoric kingdoms update?
How do you make this look so easy....
I bet someone on the steam workshop has build a rock face …
Do you Know that you can turn off escapes in settings
So … if ‘cheval’ is ‘horse’ in french … is this a horse’s horse?
Also, you can create a blueprint of stacked up rocks yourself for copy-pasting purposes to speed up your cliff building 🙂
Mashallah
When is the next episode of your jwe 2 horror park?
Hi you lot it's best in slot
u da best
All animals should be free.
twycross zoo siamang exibit
Well why don't you create your own big rock face out of the small ones?🤷🏼
That way you could just re-use your custom rock face.
This makes me sad i really wanna build in Planet Zoo a forest but my computer cant really run it i have bought a New PC but i forgot the steam Password and i dont have Planet Zoo on my New one but i cant buy it bc i dont have enought money😢
