AAAUUUGGHH........I want to see Kona painted SOOO BAAAAD...!!!! I thought for sure it would be this episode but NOOOO....lol. Well ..hope and pray maybe next one..?
Kona is coming on a treat, dont know the back story of how you ended up at this particular restorers, but boy O boy are you at the right place, I dont know how you eneded up with Lori but buy some handcuffs so that she cannot run away, because Mic whatever life has done to you it has made amends with finding you that young Lady. cheers from the U.K.
Sometimes it seems like your not making progress, but if you look at all the things you have done already you'll press on. It nice that Lori is helping alot Peace ✌️
This is more a work of art the way your approaching it. BUT, I know you’ll love using it and enjoying it for many years. It will really be fun to see it all finished 🫵🏻👍🏻♥️
I've always felt that after the first coat of primer is applied, then the hardest work of the project is next; BLOCKING........... Good Job Mitch and Lori!
Hi Mitch and Lori, you're both a powerhouse of a team, incredible work and from watching every video so far - I've learned so much too! Your skills that you have learned throughout this journey have just grown and grown, mate much respect, you've got the patience of a saint. I hope I'm that patient when I get my bus! Keep going, it's amazing what you're both doing. 🙂 Thank you.
Hey Mitch, I recommend you seal that marine plywood with a good sealer, yes, they do seal it from factory but its also good to seal it yourself for additional protection. Especially if you paid that kind of money for the marine plywood. And don't forget to lightly sand it before you seal it. cheers. btw and where you make any cuts reseal the ends of the plywood and do a couple coats on everything.
Hello from Costa Mesa Mike, Lori, & our beautiful Lady Kona🥰🥰🥰!! I always look forward to each & every one of your guys’ videos, to see the progress on our dear Lady. I appreciate all the time, $$, effort, sweat & patience you guys do to give Kona a happy new lease on life. We love you Lady Kona🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️!! I was hoping THIS would be the video of where She gets her colors on Her…but, NOOOOOO!! You gotta keep us in suspense, now, don’t you😁😁😂😂😂😜😜😜?? Well, there’s always next week…which seems SOOO far off from now😭😭😭😭. (Sips on my Starbucks Venti Iced Hazelnut Coffee to soothe myself…)
Hi There Mic, Lori and all the hard workers whi make it possible to let you drive in the most best restaurated bus I have ever seen. Yes it is hard work but in the END it will be so satisfing . SeamSealing is hard work. It takes hour and hours to compete the task but what a result. Everything airtight and no chance for water inside the cabine. I watch all your video's and specialy Kona the bus. All your other video's is wonderfull to see like diving i the ocean and swimming with all that beautifull animals that lives beneeth the waterline. Mic&Lori, Thank you so much for this episode , these are video's I remember for the rest of my life. I wich all the best in the world and give my love and support from the Netherlands. Bert de Vries. Hillegom. State: south Holland. 😘😏
I don't think I've seen a more meticulous restoration then this one. Obviously, this will be in concourse condition once it is finally completed and will actually be much better than one coming from the factory direct. That is obvious from the fact you are fixing items that were the way they came out of the factory.
22:53 / 48:18 question: this is something new to me! I've never seen this done before. I'm curious to understand the purpose behind applying the sealant on the outside of the vehicle. Is there a video or explanation that delves into the reasoning behind this process? I'm familiar with applying sealant inside the vehicle compartment, but seeing it done on the outer structure of a VW Bus is truly intriguing. I'd love to learn more about the benefits and reasons behind this technique!
I know this project is long since done, but Aircraft Spruce & Specialty has marine grade plywood along with domestic and Finnish birch. Unfortunately, Corona is a looooooooong way from Vacaville, lol!!
@@Chr.U.Cas1622 Views haven't dropped.. do you have access to my TH-cam analytics? lol.. But I love how you think you know everything! Not everyone will love the series, but If you don't enjoy the vids, you don't have to watch them! just saying
Curious how the adjustments go with the z-bed. I bought one for my '71 Bay and it is for a 3/4 and want to change it to a full size but I don't have a base box as a template? Ideas or measurements? Thanks. Love this series.
See if you can find a shipbuilder. He could have Woods would fight rot Carters in the woods are in America. Find yourself a shipwright finish Carpenter.
One wonders what was wrong with the old seam sealer such that you had to scrape it out and replace it with new seam sealer? And if the new seam sealer is self-leveling, why is Lori leveling it with her finger? Weird.

There is no way that bus will ever rust. Even a million years after we are all decayed and gone, Kona will look pristine and rust free.
That's the goal! :)
get it in the booth already, the suspense is killin' me!
I Love watching these videos Thanks for taking the time to make them..

Cant wait for the next episodes starting to see kona come together going to be amazing when finished 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Hole saws are very crude and always make oversize hole slightly. A step drill is much better and cleaner hole 😊
Coming along nicely❤
You’ve reinvented the bus practically

Wood is really expensive today. Especially plywood. The thicker the more expensive.
5/8 x 4 x 8 AB Sanded Marine Grade Plywood around here (Philadelphia) is around $125 a sheet
I love this build, and I will love it more if you EV swap it!!

We’re you writing checks there at the end ?

I didn’t watch this series, but how come you are 60 episodes in and this is still unfinished?
