Lots of great examples of winter interest. I will send this one over to my client who needs to see options that are already laid out. Thanks so much for sharing.
@@therestlessgardener9287 omg I know. Under 100, I guess I can handle. But over 200 is too much. Weeping white spruce is my fav, but I need a blue type. Trying to keep winter interest to this big project is mainly why I'm willing to spend right now. I want a firefly spruce so badly. I love evergreens and jap maples oh and this deep pink dogwood. I'll go broke!
Great video thank you!! Just discovered your channel and absolutely love your garden and how informative your talks are! Just a pleasure to watch. Thank you for keeping the camera steady. 🌿💚🌲
Hi...I would say they were around 4 feet tall but much less full than they are now. When we planted them in the spring they looked like upside down lollypops. Currently they are about close to 6.5 feet all and much fuller, even at the top. I expect that by later this year they will be close to 8 feet and filling in so they touch, which is exactly what I want. We have our spruce trees professionally sprayed so I don't know what they use, sorry.
@@josephanderson3164 Yes, we planted 3 feet apart but I think we might respace them slightly further apart for our space. 3 feet apart will definitely give you a tight hedge.
Thank you so much for the new video on the American pillars! All of yours look very nice and straight with 1 leader. The ones we currently have now have 2 leaders. Did you experience this in the beginning too?
Such a beautiful setting you have. 💕🎶
Thank you so much!

Winter interest is so important! I really do need to step up my garden. Great video!
Thanks again!!
Ok, we are kindred ❤ love your stacked stone walls. I'm obsessed with weeping slender evergreens! Loved watching this over morning coffee ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed!!! There are more slender evergreens I'd like to add but there's that price thing again 🤪!! Thanks for watching ☺

Yup... even with my discount, I don't buy much where I work. There is a gorgeous evergreen I'd like but it's $459!! 🤪 Oh well...

Yes winter interest is a beautiful part of the garden. Thanks for sharing this video. Happy gardening
Happy gardening to you, as well ❤️
Do the deer leave your arbs alone?
They do since we started regularly spraying Liquid Fence. So far so good otherwise they would destroy the arbs....
What is the grass you have in front of the Encore azaleas??
Mexican feather grass, Nassella tenuissima. Hope I spelled that right!
How tall were the American full speed a hedge tree's when planted and did you plant those in the Spring? Also, what do you spray on your spruce trees?

Are these 3ft on center? We will be planting 5-7 in a row and want to make sure they’re able to fill out to 4ft at the bottom on each.

Trees need air movement so won’t do well planted too close to house.
