Euphoria is not only a perfect diss, but a perfect rap song. 6 minutes and not a bar wasted. Clever bars that revealed more layers over time. Not to mention it's aged perfectly through the battle and sounds like it will continue to. Idk what more you could've asked for from that track.
Agreed Euphoria is my personal favorite in this whole feud. Feel like it gets forgotten because it was Kendricks first. Euphoria -> Not like us -> 6:16 in LA -> meet the grahams
The disrespect for Eminem's tracks is insane. Irrespective of who he targeted with those, he took down The Source, made MGK switch genres and shut Mariah Carey for good. In terms of actual bars, only Kendrick's disses are near that level. Like seriously.
MGK literally became more successful in the years after his diss, Mariah Carey is a pop star who is still very successful career wise, the Benzino disses i can get behind because nail in the coffin is great but a lot of his disses are overrated.
@@jaredbrinkman3343MGK’s RAP (!) career ended after going at Eminem; Mariah kept talking about him, made a couple of songs and used to mock him during concerts…all of which stopped when he dropped The Warning. Give credit when credit is due. Also, most of the diss tracks that were ranked above his barely did anything and were a lot less lyrical, but I suppose we should all ignore that.
@@jaredbrinkman3343tell me how much did MGK's last couple of rap albums sell? Hell, he even admitted that Binge flopped because of his beef with Em. But go on.
Feels like I’m the only one who thinks Euphoria is by far the best disstrack of all time. Never heard a disstrack with so much content, humour, quotables, vocal inflections, flow & beat switches, replayablity for the length. Nearly every line has a double or triple entendre bro, the production is absolute fire and easily the best made song of the beef. PERFECT SONG 100/100 🔥🔥🔥
Meet the Grahams is so diabolical and sinister, the track had me completely spooked when I heard it the first time. Plus dropping it minutes after family matters was the ultimate chess move.
I wish y’all would understand that the recycled lines in Euphoria are purposeful to show that he’s what the “culture’s feeling”. The whole purpose of that song is to reiterate why the culture doesn’t accept Drake, and the recycled lines are reminders of that.
I think Euphoria was underrated in this. Kendrick’s delivery and the tone of his voice is perfect. The way he predicted how the battle would play out also adds more points. It has amazing schemes and bars throughout, could even argue it’s better lyrically than Not Like Us or Meet The Grahams
I thought Killshot was perfect especially if you’re familiar with the MGK rap devil music video and his champagne popping video as Eminem makes a couple of references to those videos.
Yeah, I hate that they kept taking points off because of who the targets were. Because if the opponent was anyone else it would have been ranked higher
Nah we can’t downplay the Eminem diss At the time ja rule was a hit maker someone who can rap and it was a worthy opponent at the time Same with benzino we making like he can’t rap So Eminem washed them Both in a nice battle
Jay apologised for taking shit too far, in the era where the deaths of pac and biggie over exactly such bars in beefs was still fresh. Cole apologised for even opening his mouth and not even saying anything that disrespectful. These are not the same.
Jay Z also didn’t suck his opponent off after retracting his diss like J Fold did. Imagine Jay Z saying Nas is the best rapper at a live show back then! His career would’ve been stunted right there and stamped a pu**y

Duppy Freestyle should really be at GREAT. I normally do not care about the "clock" when it comes to releasing diss tracks, but the same way meet the grahams dropping minutes after FAMILY MATTERS was a master move, Drake dropping Duppy in 24 hours after Infrared was so fucking cool. He rapped his ass off, the beat is so fucking good and he has so many good rebuttals and bars. I wished Drake brought those nuanced tongue in cheek lines to this recent beef, like calling Pusha an "approachable dude" 💀 also that microphone signature fading away bar was great
Yeah, it was kinda frustrating that homie refused to compromise on that and another song’s placement and then begrudgingly compromised on a song he didn’t even really argue for.
As someone who was in high school in NYC (yikes) 20+ years ago, that diss battle was EVERYTHING. And at the same time, Benzino and Ja Rule basically ending their own careers was... happening, too.
how? Pretty much everyone who actually knows anything about music knows that Dot bodied Drake; and they look at other rap beefs in hindsight which devoids bias completely as they are not affected by the context of the time period and get to look at the beefs with a clearer perspective.
Eminem only dissed mediocre rappers. I guess Meek mill is top 10 rapper of all time. I don’t want to discredit back to back but you are looking at that based on how good diss song that was while you are discrediting Eminem diss tracks cause opponents were not on his levels. His diss tracks are career altering and no one who is truly smart will battle Eminem.
not really that career altering. Mariah Carey is still very successful and MGK literally got more successful in the years after Killshot. Also Meek Mill is a street rapped from Philly definitely levels above those two

Saying Drake should’ve said more on Family Matters is a bad take, he stuck to one angle which we still don’t know is true or not since Kendrick never addressed it, whereas Kendrick just said whatever he could think of and recycled disses from other rappers, the hypocrisy is unreal 💀
Kendrick didn't say whatever he could think of. He chose angles that he knew would work. Whether they're based on facts is hardly even relevant, but we know that some of the angles are based on facts. The point of diss tracks is to attack your opponent, and Kendrick did it effectively. Drake went hard with the gossip angles, but the problem is that nobody could relate any of it to Kendrick. Drake's best bars are all things we can actually connect with Kendrick. And Drake wasted that whole second verse dissing people he already dissed on Push Ups. He should've been going after Kendrick, with good angles, and good bars instead.
Kendrick said things that align with what people have been talking about for years. He brought attention to Drake's extremely weird and creepy behavior which should be put under a microscope. There's weight to what Kendrick said. There's no weight to what Drake said. He alleged things that haven't even been rumored, that haven't been suggested by anyone else, and Drake himself can't even prove he got that information from anywhere. Makes it pretty obvious he just made it up due to a lack of angles.
You don't get it 😂 Kendrick reused those bars for 2 reasons. Because "what the culture felling" is what is sticked with. Everyone as been saying those things about drake so that bar aged like fine wine. And it was a bait track so drake could drop his "nuke". You just skimming through music boi
meet the Grahams is a GOD tier diss track... the disrespect of mentioning his mom and dad by name... and dissing Dad too... telling Drake that he should die...
I like Kendrick and I think he's the winner, but just from a pleasure standpoint, "Push Ups" and "Family Matters" are the more enjoyable songs. The first rapping voice of Kendrick on "Euphoria" is ridiculous in a bad way, and the Chorus in "Not Like Us" is annoying.
This is the first time I agree with the list ALMOST entirely. I would only flip the spots for Family Matters and euphoria. Simply based on impact. There was no time to fully process Family Matters due to meet the grahams. Most of the list seems to have “impact “ as a factor. Which is cool, i love it. So since that is being included in the rankings. Family Matters moves down a tier and well ephoria is just amazing if not, great at least. It is so creative and lyrical. The second beat gave the people the feel that they wanted when it comes to diss tracks. Question: And why wasn’t 6:16 in La included?
Euphoria is definitely on the “Perfect tier” that’s the best diss of the battle. Not Like Us was a better song but as a diss he literally Ethered Drake on Euphoria.

The thing about Eminem never having a real formidable opponent is that everyone who is actually great pretty much universally respects him and don't want to battle him. That in itself gives him that mythical status as an unbeatable battler in mainstream rap. Em has never shied away from a battle. It's just that the only ones who have problems with him are usually irrelevant clout chasers like Benzino and MGK. I am going to dock points for the Mariah Carey feud tho. Not only is it cringe but he arguably lost because Mariah Carey clowned him and was clearly not as upset as Em was lol. Em beefing with a pop singer, and a woman at that was just a bad look.
Calling Benzino an irrelevant clout chaser is displaying your ignorance. Go do your research, Em was *desperate* for Benzino's publication to acknowledge him. Thats why they beefed, Em wanted respect and recognition from The Source, not vice versa.
@@ZimzamsXD Benzino as a rapper was absolutely irrelevant. And he was very obviously holding a grudge against Em because his magazine wasn't able to stop Em from becoming the biggest rapper in the world. @@Python-xs2iv i just said he lost to Mariah Carey bro lol. It's just a fact that no good rapper ever tried to go at Em. It's the only reason he never battled anyone who could actually rap. What part of that is me gassing him? Just a plain statement of facts.
@@Zack-vi7is Man Eminem was mad at getting a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 and said he was overrated. If thats "starting it" to you then idk. He also clearly is not irrelevant, if that 5/5 rating means so much to Em that he's still salty over it 20 full years later. Also Em ducked Budden, so no. Your statement is not fact. The only time a real MC (we know Em must rate highly since he signed the guy to his label!) dissed him he went silent and tacked on a drake-esque jab about his girl years later.
I give Back 2 Back credit for becoming a Verb like Ether .. “he finna go back 2 back on em??” + it created a time limit for a response, Em vs Mariaha Carey is hilarious

Euphoria is not only a perfect diss, but a perfect rap song. 6 minutes and not a bar wasted. Great production, a masterclass in delivery, he's so animated and finds a way to be funny while also being menacing. Extremely catchy where any given bar could get stuck in your head.

No one wants to be the person rapped about on Long Kiss Goodnight
How could you do euphoria and push ups like that
Saying Drake should’ve said more on Family Matters is a bad take, he stuck to one angle which we still don’t know is true or not since Kendrick never addressed it, whereas Kendrick just said whatever he could think of and recycled disses from other rappers, the hypocrisy is unreal 💀
Kendrick has said from the get go that drake is a liar and he would lie on his family you talking bout angles keep defending the 6 year old god 😂😂😂😂
Love getting the history behind a lot of these beefs
Not like us and meet the grahams are wayyy to high
Recency bias
meet the Grahams is a GOD tier diss track... the disrespect of mentioning his mom and dad by name... and dissing Dad too... telling Drake that he should die...
You're such a hypocrite
This is the first time I agree with the list ALMOST entirely. I would only flip the spots for Family Matters and euphoria. Simply based on impact. There was no time to fully process Family Matters due to meet the grahams. Most of the list seems to have “impact “ as a factor. Which is cool, i love it. So since that is being included in the rankings. Family Matters moves down a tier and well ephoria is just amazing if not, great at least. It is so creative and lyrical. The second beat gave the people the feel that they wanted when it comes to diss tracks.
Question:
And why wasn’t 6:16 in La included?
Where is Taylor made freestyle?
