It grows me some hairs when I hear or think about the stories of Africans in today's carribean, their struggles and survival is a true spirit. Would really wish to travel around all the islands... How else could one feel reconnections from lost or separated ancestors.
Before Carnival, The SPANISH celebrated Corpus Christi which was celebrated before the French introduced the Carnival....Do the historical research the Spanish were there since 1498
@@HameedShaqqthepanpiper :, Thank you for the update the Spanish was always there is true, not too many people knows that, I think people in their 60's, 70's, 80's, I was born in 1957, I'm '65 yrs, I know people didn't want to hear their children play pan because they thought it made noise in their head and didn't want a steel Pan boy for their daughter
What a most remarkable and informative summary of the history of Trinidad and Tobago's Steeelband music. I throughly enjoyed this educational video and learned a lot!
Just goes to show what resilience and persistence can do, our ancestors paived the way for us. I sometimes wonder how I came to be so resilient in certain aspects of my life's journey, this video has expressed and explained it All!!! 🙌🙌❤️🇹🇹 Forever proud of my heritage
Excellent! This is the Accurate story of the history and development of the steelband. One thing only is missing from the narrative .... That calypsonians, notably Lord Kitchener, began writing music for the pan. While it is getting all the publicity, Kim Johnson's story of Pan is a pale shadow of this concise well documented and authentic narrative. Great Job! MUST READ

Brilliant history. I found this Paradise in 1972. Tobago is also stunning.
