For those concerned, because it seems like a lot of you: I am genderfluid and I prefer they/them pronouns. This is my dream role, and I genuinely don’t see why a person born female should not play this role. Broadway and theatre accommodate (non-minority) actors regularly. I love and appreciate those defending my identity and thank you for your kindness. To those confused or upset about this casting, if you’d like to constructively discuss this I’d be happy to talk with you. I am more accessible on my instagram @sophiemajahughes. Thank you for your comments and feedback! I agree actually, this is not my favorite performance of mine, but it was fun! I would change a lot of things now, but I think genderqueer representation is important and every artist and performer has a journey. I also had COVID for the most of the rehearsal process! It was really rough, but everyone was so kind throughout my quarantine and worked with me to make this come together. Jared and Connor would carry a laptop around with me on Zoom! Thank you for your love of the other actors! I will ask them if I can name them here so you can give them some love as well. They are the loveliest fellows and it was amazing working with them.
@@wowthingx it kinda matters because the gay joke doesnt work as well. But the problem isn't that, i love the genderbent covers, its just bizarre to see it without previous notice and i suppose thats why the person above asked You dont have to fight every single person that ask about gender, chill please
@@charlespipins2498 what i was trying to point out was that maybe the person who is playing the character is not a girl or a woman. Why are you assuming their gender? i am indeed chill but people need to stop assuming other people’s gender.
OMG THE GUY THAT PLAYED JARED WAS AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS

oh god, masks are so normal to me that i didn't notice them till i read the comments lmao
The person that played Evan was perfectly awkward! They did so well, they depict the character perfectly.
Was it a girl or a boy I can’t tell
@@ellarose_08 They could be nonbinary, but they did very good in my opinion
They’re gender fluid and prefer they / them

U played Evan so well
I loved your performance!! Those who don’t shouldn’t be hating on you, it was great!
you did great. don't listen to anyone else. representation like this is waaayyyyy more needed. thank you for sharing!!!
HELP that was so cute
Holy Moly this is AMDA
круто получилось :>
the person that plays evan is so gender
Sincerely, Covid
Who are they? Qui sont ils ? Quels sont les noms des acteurs ?
I’ve asked if I can share their names. I’ll let you know!
Evan was just awkward to watch the whole time
thats the whole point
i so agree honestly
Think hes just saying what im thinking, just a tad over the top for what Evan needs to be
For once the Evan was the weakest part of the trio, by far. I loved the movement of the actor playing Connor though!
If you can’t see the face int toto, then wait until you can.
Any reason why Evan Hansen is a girl?
any reason why tf are you assuming their gender?
and also why does it matter? they are hust playing out characters
one problem is the vocal range is a little too low for her
