Help your child talk with an echo microphone! Speech and language therapy toys I use (teletherapy)

In this video I demonstrate how an echo microphone can help your child start imitating sounds or words, making more eye contact, looking more at your mouth so they learn to model how a sound is produced, engaging in back and forth turn taking during conversations, and using the mic during pretend play.
An echo mic can also be used during telepractice sessions. It doesn't work the same way but it helps cue the child and gets them doing some pretend play and excited to talk. If you are a clinician, you may want to ask the families you work with to purchase one, so that they can incorporate the mic in your teletherapy sessions.
To purchase an echo mic, can go to my website and there is a link of toys I recommend for speech therapy. Or you can find them at Target under $4, or Dollar Store has them but they are not the best plastic quality.

This is a great idea! I purchased an echo mic for my children (I'm a preschool teacher). I am so excited try your technique and encourage them to participate more often!

What if you wait but the kid doesn’t say anything?
Try something else if it doesn't work. Every child is different and what works for 1 child may not work for another.

Thanks! I will try to post some other videos. Currently I do t have kids on my caseload with HI but you can always try and modify some activities. Hope these videos support you in your studies & in your therapy sessions.
