    I love this thing. It's not for everyone but it's pretty darn cool. What do you guys think? Also, if you missed it I compared the G14 to the blade 14 which you can find here - th-cam.com/video/8KtDLu4a-EM/w-d-xo.html

      Can you please do a comparison of the CPU performance of this laptop and a bigger gaming laptop with same 12th Gen i9? Would like to see how much is the performance difference if 12th H series is put inside a smaller and slimmer Chassis. The scores in this video does not look that promising compared to say a 2022 G14. I do have a VivoBook Pro 14X with 5900HX + RTX 3050 Ti (50W) Combo, weighting just 3.1 lbs and in CPU only tasks, it's performance is within 10%-20% of my 5900HX in LP5 Pro. So, just want to see how much performance Alder Lake H looses when placed inside these kind of chassis.

      Compare the ZenBook Duo with Zephyrus Duo - I believe the difference is Intel and AMD where this one is a result of Intel getting jealous and scared at the same time.

    • @123Suryasis
      @123Suryasis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@avieshek your guess is not true. May be you should check the Asus product line up again. The last 2 generation Zenbook Duo laptops, 14 and 16 are Intel platform only. AMD only has Zephyrus duo lineup, no Zenbook Duo.

    I have the previous version of this, the UX582. It's been an amazing laptop, in fact my favorite. I work as a 3D artist and this thing has made creating 3D on a laptop finally not a pain. The screens make it so I can use all my menus that I live as well as preview window. The power it has brought has been amazing. The keyboard is a bit to get used to, but I honestly don't type a lot anyway, and I often just move the machine a bit more back anyway and it's comfortable. I hate trackpads so I got a bluetooth mouse and rarely use the trackpad which honestly is a bit too sensitive anyway. The 582 pretty much has been a dream machine that almost feels like it was designed just for me with it's second screen, and power that it brings. If I need to be truly portable I've brought a portable battery that's tided me over. I usually use it at a table or desk, as you are correct and using it on your lap is not a great idea. But compared to towing a huge tower around, this has been amazing. I've been running C4D, Zbrush, Substance, Houdini, Unreal, VR and more on this thing and rarely has it slowed down.
    With today's new version I'm a bit discouraged to see they went down on the video card from a 3080 down to a 3050 ti. That's pretty much a deal breaker for doing 3D work using external renderers like Redshift or Octane. It feels like they are making the apple mistake and going for form over function. Daring crazy design specs has been what I've been loving about Asus for the last year and making things that can try enhance my work. I hope this is a lower version of the UX582 and they don't abandon the higher powered version., It seems like they are coming out with a bunch of these so maybe my high powered needs are just down road. Who knows.

      So to clear things ups,
      14" Duo went from MX450 to 3050Ti, and 15" Duo got upgraded in the form of "Asus Zephyrus Duo 16" within their ROG gaming lineup. It now has a 3080Ti, top Ryzen CPU, and new MiniLED display.

      Question Rory...would this machine work well for video editing?

    • @roryemmons7929
      @roryemmons7929 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RobertSpiller I think so but not being an editor myself so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. Since I'm in 3D I pretty much always have to come down on the side of power. The UX582 has a 3080 in it and it covers my needs very well backed up with an i9. I've had photoshop, C4D, and Unreal open all at the same time. Running a bit slow, but I've had Zbrush, C4D, and others open all at the same time with no sweat. I've seen the Pro-art and one of these new ones has a jog shuttle wheel. I applaud the effort, but I would rather have the extra screen. I put a lot of menus down there including dope sheet timelines which I imagine if I was editing a lot I would put my own timeline down there., This isn't something I use on the couch, almost always at a desk, but it's a lot better than carrying a tower around! This thing has the screen space and flexibility to arrange your tools the way you want, and the power to back them up. I'm a bit conflicted on these new models with the 3050 ti. If you think that would be ok, I'd so go for it. My UX582 has a 3080 in it, and isn't even a full year old. Honestly this is the only time working on a laptop that I didn't feel like I was sacrificing either screen space or power for the sake of portability.
      The battery life is not the greatest, but I've learned how to deal with it and the other benefits justify it.

      Have you had any luck getting the Control Panel to work with apps other than Adobe? I'm also doing 3D work, and being able to have that for Blender and Substance would be awesome.

      @roryemmons7929 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@prosperity3370 I haven't messed with the control panel too much and just elected to pop out some of the menus in different programs and extend them down to the bottom screen. Was a lot faster and works just as well.

    As this is more of a creativity rather than "gaming" laptop I would've preffered for it to use an AMD laptop for better battery longevity. Both are great for gaming, intel a bit ahead and runs a bit hotter, but I feel like this is something you'd want more on the go and to run quiter.

    My, Vaio is pretty much dead and I've been looking at these. I'm not sure if I should get the current model or wait it out for this one? I'm in a weird holding pattern because of the release date. The current model seems pretty solid, not sure if I would regret skipping out on the new one.

    Battery life is a deal breaker. What's the point of making an ultraportable powerhouse if you have to carry a brick everywhere and are dependent on an outlet being available? The whole point of a device like this would be able to do productivity tasks and higher order demanding ones on the go. Such a shame. The G14 is the perfect spot right now, though obviously lacking this double screen functionality. I can see this format being useful for streamers and content creators of different types. But the battery is simply unacceptable.

    15000 cinebench score on a 12900H? A 3050TI probably low wattage? Probably shit battery life since it's an alder lake mobile? Probably at a rediculous price? Yuck 🤮

    • @anthonyzheng7274
      @anthonyzheng7274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a small photo editing laptop. You obviously can't game on this - lowering resolution to 1080p? When you are already overpaying for a 4k oled display? Just to get playable fps on this pathetic gpu? really??? NO 🤮 I can't even call it a "workstation" due to such thermal limitations, the CPU literally cannot stretch its legs one bit. Price to performance ratio is probably dog shit. Just overall bad product that doesn't serve any one or any needs, at the price point they are asking. *puke*

    • @anthonyzheng7274
      @anthonyzheng7274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why didn't this come on as a Ryzen 6000 series? Would actually make sense due to size and thermal limitations. Having the Alder Lake i9 really destroyed any hope for this product line. Whoever signed off on this is probably a monkey.
