@@LeeH1989 Now, after the accident in the park, Hurricane Clarissa wiped out our facility on Site B; call it an act of God. We had to evacuate, of course, and the animals were released to mature on their own. "Life will find a way" as you once so eloquently put it. And by now, we have a complete ecological system on the island, with dozens of species living in their own social groups without fences, without boundaries, without constraining technology and for four years, I've tried to keep it safe from human interference.

Honestly I dont care about the next JW movie or what they do with it. They turned Jurassic park into a fast and furious style action movie where a big muscly dude punches other big muscly dudes, oh and there's dinosaurs somewhere in there. And the whole human clone thing was ridiculous. I almost walked out of the theatre when they did that crap. I dont even count JW as canon. I agree, If any animal has survived on Sorna after all this time the Compsognathus would be one of them. The Compys breed by InGen are hardy little dinosaurs, they feast on carrion, insects, lizards, and mammals, and unlike their extinct counterparts their pretty vicious.

The mysterious and surprisingly rich artificial ecosystem of Isla Sorna was a huge part of the allure of the island for me in the first two sequels. As a kid, I loved to imagine exploring the island's perilous jungles, in lieu of Grant's original JP3 role.
That's why I found it difficult to accept that the ecosystem was effectively extinct by the time the events of Jurassic World occurred...

Except this is canonically false. Well after 2001 during Jurassic world construction they took Sorna dinosaurs for Jurassic park, such as a Sorna raptor that attacked Claire. But since none were present in 2015 on nublar and they cloned four new velociraptors, it can be assumed they left the velociraptors alone. Then in dominion film Biosyn took some dinosaurs from Sorna to their valley to show off.But this was between Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, so in the four years between Sorna definitely has dinosaurs because where else would they have gotten Buck and Doe that they feature at the end.Meanwhile the wild Pterosaurs on Sorna which we showed in The lost world definitely couldn’t have vanished.

I would expect the Compsognathus to survive because even if the Velociraptors, the Spinosaurus and other big carnivores killed off the bigger herbivores and then starved to death, the Compies are small enough to hide and they can hunt small mammals.

Well it really does not make much sense that this new species made the ecosystem go into chaos, even the spinosaurus. Now I think the only one of this species that coould have been an issue was the anky and maybe at the start the Spinosaurus, but only at the start, this due the next reasons, the ankys wouldnt have natural predators at the start, this would probably change if the Trex population learned how to hunt them, this as the Rex would be the only carnivore truly capable of hunting them down, now with the spinosaurus, I say it would only be an issue in the start as how it and the other animals would react, like how the Spinosaurs would act towards other large theropod and how this will act towards it, is easy to speculate that eventualy other animals would avoid it and even if the Spinosaurus is just an INGEN recreation of the real thing, I can imagine it would still prefer to feed in the aquatic fauna of Isla Sorna. Now something people tend to forget is howtheres actualy a pretty decent amount of food for all carnivores, for example, if Parasaurolophus was already common enough to be one of the favorite among the carnivores, imagine now also with Corythosaurus.

I'm hoping they revisit site B many years after the exclusion zone, after all the dinosaurs have either been pillaged/kidnapped to go to Jurassic World, and after the remaining dinosaurs have died off. Only something has obviously survived. They could easily have Compies, Dilophosaurus and of course the big Spino too, which had been hiding in the swamps that it has made home.
Totally feasible that you can have feral pigs and goats on the island as well, which were deliberately released by Ingen, to help sustain the carnivores. A few other small herbivore breeds as well that have survived maybe. You don't necessarily need big, menacing, hybrid dinosaurs and fast paced action, just make it much more darker and scarier, like in a horror format. Have a real dark feel to it. Because ultimately something has got to change to keep it fresh...

The supposed “sub adult” that people claim is wrong though, as this T. rex was only 37 feet long compared to the buck, who was clearly an adult, at 40 feet in length. Saying it’s a sub adult is like saying an adult man who’s 5’8 is a teenager compared to someone who is 6’3 because he’s a little shorter, it’s just absurd. The filmmakers obviously just wanted spino to win. However, was killing off the T. rex a good choice, well that’s another story...

Thanks to DPG website, we now know a bit of history of some dinos (Cerato, Cory, Anky, and Spino)

I have always felt that the JP3 raptors were genetically different from the ones in Lost World, as evidenced by how physically and even behaviorally different they were. It makes sense that since 1993, Dr. Wu and some other sneaky geneticists have been using the southern portion of Sorna as space for to continue thier genetic research, away from the prying eyes of the world. Thus, we get the illegally cloned dinos, such as Ankylosaurus and Spinosaurus. I think that the raptor pack that Grant and the others encountered on Sorna were created as part of Wu's work on creating raptors more like Blue and the others were. Kind of a link between the ones originally created on Nublar and Blue's pack. That's why they have feathers and more sophisticated behavior.

I've read that 'solar radiation' effects growth rate - they're totally at the wrong latitude; but, although a temperate coniferous rainforest is quite out of place next to tropical rainforest, you do get some examples of such forests in south America.
They could be genetically modified, and redwoods do grow very fast (just look at how they're now thriving in the U.K.!), but my headcanon was always that Isla Sorna's redwoods were simply an undiscovered species in the cypress family.

I personally believe in the book theory that Site B was going to collapse in on itself eventually. Despite being a ridiculously over sized island with remarkable ecological variety, there was no way it could support a sustainable population of prey animals to predatory animals. Especially for how many large herbivores there were around. And how quickly the raptors bred.

Your videos always pose some interesting questions. They make me want to start writing spin-off graphic novels and short stories about Trespasser, Site B, and the genetic modifications of the illegally cloned spinosaurus. I like the idea that Masrani, as a favor to John Hammond, came up with a means to fabricate information about animal extinctions on Isla Sorna. Saying they had taken the last surviving specimens from Isla Sorna to begin the park, but actually leaving what remained untouched. Considering how the original novels ended, I am more inclined to believe that the ecosystem on Site B really did collapse. The "amalgam testing" released new species into an already predator-heavy ecosystem, and the island probably had very little flora for all of that megafauna to graze on, as well.

So if a 36 foot long, 14.5 foot tall, 6 ton trex was able to give Spinosaurus a hard time, then Buck, an highly aggressive, experienced T-Rex, would be able to kill him. Female Tyrannosaurus are larger and more aggressive than the male Tyrannosaurus and we saw that it had some problems fighting the smallest in the franchise (not counting the infant). Bud, I think you should have gave us your opinion more on this instead of going by the info they gave us. The illegally cloned dinosaurs causing an ecosystem impact is extremely flawed. How can an Ankylosaurus or Corythosaurus cause any damage so impactful? On a island that's dubbed the biggest of the five? We saw only 1 Ceratosaurus whom probably hunted the juvenile ones. The only exception here is the last illegal cloned dinosaur Spinosaurus since it was the super predator of that island. But it was in hunting down... anything. It was in the rivers, hunting T Rex's and herbivores. Personally, I'm not fan of this stuff completely destroying Sorna with a poor explanation. I think the director just did this to have an excuse for Fallen Kingdom.

That's why FK is my least favourite film in the series, I feel they sought to kill off everything that the other films had done in order to get the animals off the islands and get the whole 'dinosaurs eating ppl on the mainland' plotline; think about it, Nublar has been totaled by Mt. Sibo's sudden eruption and Sorna was basically given a dishonourable off-screen death which was barely mentioned in the film and only elaborated on on the DPG's website, which is only meant to further promote FK.

I don’t think that Spinosaurus actually went after T-Rexes. The whole “urine” scene could just mean that he’s territorial, like how many predators in the wild are today. I mean, the only reason why Spino even encountered the T-Rex was because he just happened to be there. That being said, he struggled with that same T-Rex. He didn’t destroy the T-Rex, he won due to him getting a lucky shot. So if he struggled with that, then imagine him trying to take on Buck and Doe, who were the same size as Spinosaurus.

    Happy Valentine's Day!! :D!!!
Such a pity we never got to see so many animals before their return to extinction... but that's chaos for ya.
Also. I don't believe the JP3 raptors were bred alongside the tiger tribe.
I think they were illegally bred raptors as well. They do seem to have bird dna, meaning a more "correct" version of a raptor.
if we take what we know of the Spinosaurus being the poster child for the illegal experiments, we know that it was an experiment to attempt feathers in is appearance (as Wu's experiment was apparently for, seeing as that seemed difficult for him to do.)
It makes no sense for him to try it on one animal individually if we are to assume it was the only one. He'd need fast breeding and ultimately fast growing specimens. And what better than raptors? They are smaller and likely grow quickly and would promote better results before the big experiment.
And what do these raptors sport? Quills. Protofeathers.
And if we want to stretch this idea further, look closely at the males patterns. Who do they remind you of?
They sport the trademark "Blue stripes". These raptors are very exotic, very different in their appearance and behavior. The tiger tribe is seen to be aggressive, even to their own kind as seen in the movie, meaning they have no order nor social structure beyond brute force.
The feather tribe however is seen to have a VERY ordered social structure to the point that it's eerily "civilized". They acted on getting back their young, followed through dangerous territory for that end and even LEFT the people responsible alone when they got what they wanted by visual direct order from their matriarch.
These raptors cannot have simply been an aberration so strikingly different from everything of appearance to social order.
They have to have been made and TAUGHT. I think these were actually the proto stage of what would become the events of JW all these years later.

@@João-u8b those raptors couldn't have grown in numbers. Animals don't constantly breed like that. And there were two raptors, one aggressive the other more tactical.
The Dilophosaurus weren't shown, same with Baryonyx and Carnotaurus, as Klayton said they're most likely killed off. That only leaves 1 Spinosaurus (one can't breed alone), 6 T-Rexes but they also got a predator that can kill them easily, and then we got velociraptors but they aren't much and the Tigers only hunt in tall grass and aren't coordinated as well as the others.

Hey klay, today i have a very different question... if im not mistaken, your old intro featured goro from mortal kombat and your channel banner featured the soulnado, also from mortal kombat... so my question is, are you a fan of mk and if yes, are you hyper for mk11?

There is many dinos I believe are still alive on site B. Compys, microceratus due to there size. The gallis to them being of a smaller size than all the other herbivores. And the Pteranodons as they eat fish. Also I don’t think the spino was on Site B when it went down hill they probably moved it to Nublar and kept it away from everything else due to its aggressive nature.

For me it was always the raptor who killed Robert that was the big one. From the moment she locked eyes with him trying to save Joffrey… she remembered him, every time he came to the paddock, every time she saw him, the moment she was out of that paddock she was hunting him. I do believe the raptor paddock we saw had eggs in no doubt, but it was the big one laying the eggs, I always liked to think the other two raptors changed from female to male and the big girl led the pack
I might be wrong but that’s just my thoughts
Love your channel as always Klayton 👏

I had no idea the Brachiosaurus and Mamenchisaurus lived in different parts of the island, as well as Ankylosaurus, which was referenced in a deleted scene in the LWJP script, where they actually died in a stampede, causing them to go extinct again.
