RΞMZΞN X In theory, yes, but the extremely quick TTK and the rapid movement system provides strong incentive to use closer range weapons like SMGs. So you'll probably find the actually skilled players who've managed to get past the Scrub Mentality using them if they're playing to win.
Of course, if they're just dicking around, all bets are off.

Morizon this game is fucking dead, why do you care anymore? Anyways, pick up a grenadier (besides the EPG) or the Mastiff and claim that SMGs are hard to use. ARs aim assist got nerfed into the fucking ground, so it's no longer just straight up aimbot, now you actually have to be aiming close to the target for the aim assist to happen. Even then it's still shitty if they're skilled and are moving fast. SMGs represent the "I'm totally skilled, any other class is for tryhards." genre of players. Grenadiers (besides the EPG) are used by actually skilled players. You're probably one of those SMG users.

I know this video is three years old but it gave me a good chuckle
I hate how there are guns like the alternator, flatline, hemlock, g2 that are broken as fuck but then when the volt was as broken as these guns they had to nerf it to the point where it takes an entire clip to kill some one with it. The volt was my favorite gun, now I'm forced to hate to use any of the other broken guns.

Yeah thats the game connecting you to a titanfall server, and it will always pick the one that gives you the best ping.
Because of that, its matching you to other people in that server, to give you a match where everyone has roughly the same ping.
The exception to this is if you manually change the server, which is what you have to do if you want to play with someone else not from your area.
Most of the PRPL guys are from america, I'm in Ireland, if I wanna play with them I have to change to the server they're on and play with a two hundred latency by default.
You're not playing with the same guys because the game is dead, you're playing with the same guys because you're on their server XD

Here's a loadout I call: The stim train; mastiff with gunrunner and tactikill, really and secondary/ tertiary, stim, grav star, battery and kill report. Also any boost, but I use amp
My favorite set up for wanting to win (after I stopped being a sweaty little try hard) was a volt, grapple, firestar, and the grenade launcher
COD Is for hard cord gamers and they get angry so easily and full of 10 year olds and the "spray and prey" is non existent, titanfall 2 have huge maps and you can ride a fucking mech, you can spray bullets and just accurately kill someone, wall run and grapple huge buildings. Titanfall 2 is better than COD

But they are intended for the same thing. They're both fast-TTK, high mobility, first person shooters. Titanfall 2 just does it infinitely better than the recent COD games. After WW2 comes out, it'll be a lot harder to compare them, but for now, you can't say they're two completely different games.

I'm digging the music choice
Current main loadout is Holo Pilot, Electric Smoke, Alternator with Gunrunner and Tactikill, Wingman with Gunrhnner and Tactikill, MGL with Extended and Fast Mags, Power Cell and Low Profile.
I play holo unironically since it's actually saved my ass more times than I can count, Alternator is just powerful and feels good, Wingman is a revolver so I have to use it, and MGL looks cool
