I have a Noble & Cooley 6x14 Alloy Classic and it has pretty much become my number one go to snare, relacing my Ludwig 402. I never thought any snare could replace the 402.

I have a Noble and Cooley 14x5 maple and it is a phenomenal sounding snare drum, so I can fully understand your comment

I have a 6.5x14 N&C steam bent. They make great drums. I've never played one of the metal models, but their wood drums are second to none.

I have this perception that cast shells have higher value because of the craftsmanship involved in making one. I mean sound-wise, both rolled and cast don't have a big difference. If there is, we'll have to factor in hardware and head selection. Having a cast shell feels more like you have a piece of art in your hand.

Maybe it is not only art but also price increase of rough material after Covod19, a cast has the triple of material :D.... *ironie off.... I think you are right. There is not so much differnce between the sound. If there is a differnce maybe it is only because the thickness and maybe also other not so expensive metal (like alluminium, iron, brass...) came also near to a cast bronze.
