What a delightful comment, thank you so much! I really appreciate it as well when we get more of the story behind the product. It helps me make better decisions when I do want to make a purchase.
I respectfully disagree that the smashbox BOLD obsessions palette is the better buy. I own both. The Viseart doesn't swatch well, but it applies & blends with little effort. Smashbox not so much. I also was surprised by Make Up For Ever having you favorite shimmer formula. Juvias Place in my book far exceeds MUFE. ColouredRaine, Looxi Beauty are few of my top faves. Honestly I felt like the Smashbox Bold palette and the viseart were the exact same formula, they performed exact for me. Could be technique or brush thing as well. Urban Decay gets a bad rep from people but I don’t understand why. I love UD and the formula doesn’t fade on me BUT it seems like most of the formula you dislike I love. Of course every person is different from skin type and makeup techniques. I have most of the ABH palettes and the one I thought was boring (soft glam) is the one I love the most. I’m probably going to declutter the others. They are just not working for me anymore. Great declutter video! Pat McGrath isn’t American, she’s British. 😊
I love Soft Glam palette as well, there is something going on in those boring shades that is just magic! I totally messed up the Pat McGrath thing; thanks for letting me know!! -~- -- ` -
I guess I’m the exception to the rule. I love Urban Decay shadows. I pair my Naked Basics 2 palette with so many other shadows. I use it almost daily. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a large amount of high-end eyeshadows to compare to. Also, I’m not a makeup artist so I find them easier to work with than, for example, my Bobbi Brown shadows which are really pigmented but harder to blend. Thankfully there are a ton of eyeshadows out there to suit every need!
I totally agree. Learning to work with a formula and being comfortable with it is the most important thing. A lot of people like the UD formula, personally I have just found ones that are easier for me and my technique and style:) Thank you so much for watching!
I don’t like the UD formula but I had to get the GOT and Jean Michelle Basquiat collabs and surprisingly I love them so I do have 3 palettes from them. My favorite brand is Pat McGrath and Coloured Raine...
Those palettes were so cool, I wanted them but was afraid they would be the reg UD formula. I am glad that you love them. I really need to get some Coloured Raine, I was trying to get through some of my stuff, but everyone seems to love their formula!
I’m at 6:45 and I gotta say, I’m subscribing! Anyone who is willing to scrape out their Modern Renaissance for us, to see if there’s mould, deserves my support.😃👍🏻💋 Edit: Finished watching...lol my favourite shadows are Natasha Denona. Just shows how different we all are. For me they apply, blend and wear beautifully. I have six of her large palettes and adore all but one (I’m not keen on the Sunset. It just doesn’t suit my colouring and I keep meaning to sell it). I do however agree that ND is now taking advantage of her customers...the Biba, Gold and Safari palettes have so many repetitive and similar shades to her earlier palettes. I haven’t seen anything really different from her since the Tropic palette. I love my Viseart too. I would like to purchase one of the palettes of shimmers but can’t decide yet which one to choose.🤷🏻♀️ My 3rd favourite brand is Sydney Grace...their matte singles are beautiful, similar to Viseart in performance imo. I love their pressed pigment and shimmer shadows too, although some people think they are too muted. I HIGHLY recommend this brand. sydneygraceco.com/ Other than those, my collection consists of ABH palettes and singles; MAC palettes and singles; Makeup Geek singles, and Colourpop palettes and singles. I like them all but find MAC way too expensive. In Australia MAC is $37aud per single shadow and $66aud for the miniature 9-pan palettes with only 7grams of total product. So I won’t be purchasing MAC anymore. I won’t be purchasing ABH anymore either...singles are overpriced and I’m sick of the formulas in the palettes. Won’t be buying anymore Colourpop either...I just don’t think the quality’s there even though they are cheap. And no more Makeup Geek because I much prefer Sydney Grace now. I’m actually completely happy with my makeup collection as it is. I’ll just use up what I’ve got. Thanks SO MUCH for filming this for the 4th time. I really enjoyed it and LOVE the awards you gave to each palette lol 😂 🌸💖🌸💖🌸💋 P.S. SORRY for the essay...I just love talking makeup and sometimes find it hard to be brief.💯
Thank you so much! I go back and forth with ND, sometimes I find the formula to be really nice and sometimes I feel really let down. I get so frustrated when I feel let down. Her larger palettes have definitely sparked my interest, but I just can't see myself wanting to shell out for it and not know what I am getting. Your collection sounds awesome! You have a lot of great shadows. Thanks for letting me know about Sydney Grace I will def look into it! Wow, Mac is expensive in Australia, I wouldn't buy it at that price either!!! As for the long comment...I am a kindred spirit, my friends and family prob regret when they ask me a makeup related question, lol.....I stop talking when I see they are falling asleep. Thank you again for watching!!!
Ruby Rouge Beauty Reviews It was a pleasure to watch! It took me a while to figure my Natasha Denona shadows out. Try this technique next time and see if it works for you... 1. Use a sticky base as a primer for your eyelids and don’t set it. Benefits Boi-ing Brightening Concealer is my go-to. 2. Apply first using your finger the ND shimmer shadow/s to your lid. Blend the edges with a brush. Her shimmers are designed to change colour slightly and alter their finish the more you blend. Many of her shimmers do not need a matte in the transition because they will become matte the more you blend. 3. Tidy up the look using a matte if desired. She uses colour to highlight the inner corner, and she rarely highlights the brow bone which is why she rarely has a pale shade in her palettes. Hope this helps. And yes Sydney Grace shadows are just beautiful. Take care, 🌸
I had to throw out my ABH Modern Renaissance because it got mildew odor and the formula completely changed. The mattes had a white film to them and the Antique Bronze shade was really weird because it had no shimmer left. It got a ton of use however I am not repurchasing it. LOL So it is not just you.

I agree with you on palette releases, I have not picked up one this year that I can remember. The tarte formula is definitely not my favorite either. I can work with it for really natural looks, but that is about it!
