@@PPPrettyPumpkinSeems pretty lore accurate that, despite having the home field advantage and a big ole bonk stick the big bad did die to the protagonist ;)
chase would you ever consider trying out a second weapon in the off-hand for mix-ups and (true) combos? also i think it'd be cool to see you try out hybrid builds like spell-swords/semi-casters but focused on melee
Chase, have you ever considered using the Frozen Needle on your future DEX builds? Only a B in scaling, but has projectiles on it's heavy attacks, and powerstances nicely with just about every thrusting sword, especially if you're running frost weapons, since it has innate frostbite buildup. I think you'd find it entertaining, since it can basically take the role of Wing of Astel but for pure DEX.
Dang, and here I was hoping for a Moongrum cosplay. It is great to watch at low level with the Carian Knight's Sword, Carian Retaliation and Carian Piercer
Spells and incantations was never really fun for me. I have a strength/intelligence and a strenth/faith build. I'm not going away from my old ways but adding intelligence and faith doesn't hurt
rosus’s axe does mad work on these builds too but defiantly has less room for skill expression, i understand why you don’t use it.. as much as i’d like to see the skellys smack 3 gankers to death
2:08 The number of people who don't manage to hit Chase during the one opportunity they have because they use L2 instead of a faster attack like R1 is... saddening.
If you need a reliable controller, the F310 has lasted me the longest. They aren’t ergonomic, but I’ve gone through a few pricey Xbox and PS controllers that all got stick drift, yet these never had an issue despite being 14 years old.
Here's a themed build (and not just because I want to see more videos of Zwei + Waves of Darkness) MAGIC GIANTDAD Starting Class: Astrologer Level: 139 Vigor: 60 Mind: 22 Endurance: 21 Strength: 17 Dexterity: 12 Intelligence: 70 Faith: 7 Arcane: 9 Talismans: Radagon Icon, Bull-Goat's Talisman, Erdtree's Favor +2, Great-Jar's Arsenal Armor: Omensmirk Mask, Crucible Axe Armor, Crucible Gauntlets, Crucible Greaves Mainhand Weapons: Magic Zweihander +25 (Waves of Darkness), Frenzied Flame Seal +0 Offhand Weapons: Man-Serpent's Shield (Carian Retaliation), Azur's Glintstone Staff Spells: Carian Slicer, Carian Piercer, Carian Phalanx, Swift Glintstone Shard, Star Shower, Zamor Ice Storm, Adula's Moonblade, Cannon of Haima, Terra Magica, Law of Regression Physick: Intelligence-knot Crystal Tear, Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear Notes: The Omensmirk Mask gives you +2 Strength, enough to 1H the Zweihander, which of course can combo from a CR1 into a Carian Slicer. The Intelligence-knot Crystal Tear lets you reinvest 10 points out of Int and put them into other stats, for this build that would be 3 points into Vigor to reach the 60 softcap and 7 into Mind for more FP to offset the 20% FP increase of Azur's Glintstone Staff. Going from 70 Int to 80 Int increases the Sorcery Scaling of the staff from 320 to 362, which is a 13.125% increase in magic damage dealt, which makes it a bigger boost than the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear, and there isn't anything stopping you from stacking them together other than opportunity cost of using other Crystal Tears, but fundamentally I see nothing wrong with doing this. The Bull-goat's Talisman gives you an effective 88 Passive Poise, which let's you trade using Carian Slicer against the followup swings of 2H Curved Swords. Carian Phalanx will only fire if you are facing an enemy, meaning if you only _slightly_ face the enemy (no lock on) you can selectively fire each missile individually, letting you chain them together in a way that is practically impossible to dodge. Waves of Darkness + Zamor Ice Storm + Adula's Moonblade is a great sequence of spells to get people off of you in an Invasion, if they try to run in after the third wave you can hit them with a wall of ice, and can follow that up with an Adula's Moonblade to smack anyone caught that got caught in the vortex. Law of Regression can be used to remove troublesome buffs, like the Winged Crystal Tear, that would otherwise be obnoxious to play against. To use it on an Int build, all you need to do is equip a 0 weight Seal in your main hand (having Azur's in your offhand will noticeably increase the cast speed, but will increase the MP cost from 55 to 66) and viola! The reason I call this a "Giantdad" build, is because the general silhouette of the Crucible Axe set reminds me of DS1 Giant armor, and also because it's wearing a Mask, and using the Zweihander, etc... this is not an Endurance build, but aesthetically it does kind of look like a Giantdad, perhaps a Giantdad that has fallen to the dark side and became a Blue Dex abuser.
I've seen you use almost every weapon, but but I assume you haven't used the St Trina's Torch because you haven't found it yet! You see it comes from the caravan chest in the Consecrated Snowfield, good luck! 👍
