They got a lot of backlash when they trimmed down their songs on the Black, Load and Reload albums to make them more 'radio friendly', so they eventually went back to longer ones and it's funny that the newer generation like you want them trimmed down now.
@@UncleUncleRj That is interesting how that works, I’m not opposed to longer songs but I just feel a whole album of long songs is a bit much 🤷🏻♂️
@@SFutureReacts Honestly even as a fan of older Metallica, I think 72 seasons feels long :P I feel like it has to do with the fact that the riffs aren't as interesting, and they don't have unique tail-ends a lot of the time. Stuff like Master of Puppets and Blackened pull it off way better.
@@FyreofShadow Yeah, I can see that, the secondary riffs aren't as technical or creative as the older songs', because they just seem to be variations of the main riff... so it just sounds like filler.
@@SFutureReacts Have you listened to an entire Opeth album yet? They are like 3 or 4 songs total for 80 minutes!! So an average of 15 to 18 minute songs.

The irony. So many Metallica haters tend to single out Lars. Most of them then point straight at Dave Lombardo, beat their chests, and gush over how he’s a real drummer!
Dave Lombardo as it turns out, HATES those fans because he happens to be a huge Lars fan! 🤣
8:14 - No offence to people with extremely short attention spans (generally Zoomers) but, trimming songs down is removing way too much - might as well be Taylor Swift or mainstream hip-hop crap under 4 minutes! I do not play with that, I do my music for me first then for YOU! Metallica are the SAME! They do their music for themselves - if you like it great, if you hate it, great! 12:27 - Meshuggah has a song called 'I' that is 21 minutes long - we could go all week with this to and from bro! lol Love this metal talk!

Saying they pioneered metal is just blatantly wrong, yes they made it extremely popular and pioneered thrash as a genre but definitely not metal as a whole

Doesn’t matter if it’s thrash or heavy metal, they were one of the firsts to ever get to that level of popularity and I can promise Metal wouldn’t be the same music we hear today if it weren’t for Metallica 🤷🏻♂️
