Everytime I hear the main theme of Red Dawn it makes me cry with deep sadness that we're no longer in a blessed time like the 80s. What I would give to go back to a time like that, how dare they remake this classic when it's a complete standalone film. Yeah but the 80s weren't all that great. Reagan ran up huge deficits, crack epidemic, AIDS, American heavy industry and manufacturing was going downhill, America began losing ground to Japan and China. Also you gotta think in the 80s a lotta people were nostalgic for the 1950s ( ahem "Back to the Future" anyone ?) So yeah there's good and bad crap in any time. The 80s did have so many awesome movies and music tho
I think Ronald Reagan should restored diplomatic official relations with The Republic of China (Taiwan) and to break diplomatic official relations with the People's Republic of China when Taiwan got democrtized in 1987.

Whats crazy is the history teacher was talking about a conflict in Asia with Ganges Caan I think, which killed a hell of a lot of people, and yet in the film a Third World War was occurring that probably by the end of it killed at least 100, 150 or even 200 million people, even if it was mostly conventional and limited Nukes. That is only a guess though of how many would have died, worst than the first and second most likely I would imagine.
Now that I think about it, in the film when Colonel Andrew Tanner demonstrates nuclear attacks in China via throwing his drink in the fire and causing it to burst, it is believed 600 million Chinese People were killed, so right away that tells you yep worst war to ever break out. A grand total would end up probably about 800 million or more deaths, but again only a Guess. In extended lore of this film, I think World War III lasts a year or so before ending in Soviet defeat.

Well as someone who saw the original movie and was a big fan this so called portrayal of the movie is total BS. Play the sound track and sport the movie poster in the background. LAME! Total Douchebaggery at it's finest!

But after allocating resources to the space project you see something over the alaskan horizon. Airplanes, airolanes everywhere, paratroopers dropping from the sky and tanks and artillery rushing from the beaches. The civilizations of the world must work together to stop a force they cant possibly hooe to defeat alone. After making a daring attempt on washington D.C., Americas capitol, the french and british supply you with their troops and beat back the invasion. A nuclear warhead glistens before the setting sun before your country is burned to cinders. After centuries of fighting you finally make it to moscow, and they accept your unconditional surrender. All is well, the soace station is finally finishing up, and the world is once again at peace.
