Hi Robert. Another page in your generous knowledge scrapbook. Knowledge! Huuuum! The facts that you share with us should be a future part of an “artificial intelligence project” to keep the “Dene culture” alive (and other cultures apparently dying). With your own teaching methods, the one from a tallyman and a storyteller, your strong messages showing the narrow link between the people and their natural environment, you are far from movies and books who pretend to show us “The last Mohican” or “The last trapper” or “The last Bushman”. Your story (stories) is a human sharing his own culture with others by hands and words, day to day, who has feelings from people and environment. Thanks again. ;-)

Robert, don't worry about it not being "traditional". It is still an emulsified oil solution just as brains or eggs would be. Don't let folks on a certain Facebook group tell you differently.

Roberts methods are true and time tested results
Don't ever change Robert ,stick to your elders instructions, they are beautiful.
I must say few people would know about TickleTrunks, it's a generational thing...I just love it.

Thank you TH-cam for suggesting Robert Badine's channel!
I can't believe the wonderful yet strange feelings that have emerged from my innermost spirit! I love your way of life Mr. Badine's and your instructions on tanning the hides are so valuable, although I most likely never have do this, yet i can't stop watching!
I find myself wanting to know more, as soon as I wake up I look to see if you have posted a new video of your simple non stressful day! Picking berries for your bannock or what ever you'll be doing. I love your genuine and sincere blessing of peace as you go through your day!
    OK? Ok! Peace ☮️ ✌️

you don't need to brain the hide when making a drum. just flesh and remove the hair. it needs to be rawhide but not scraped. hope this helps. I usually leave the hide in the water with ash until it slips off. leave the grain. :)

I think I can do that now. This should be put in the archives for future generations. Very valuable information my friend. You might consider teaching the kids in school traditional skills.
