He's a soft spoken, sweet and humble man in real life but as Feyd he just became a terrifying psycho maniac murderer. 😂 He's like the most interesting character in the movie. Austin is truely a phenomenal actor.
His stim tick in the arena after a kill really cemented his character for me. He's a brutal psychopath. The fact that this sequence was shot in infrared was brilliant - the lack of color really demonstrates black and white nature of the Harkonnen. It also just looked super fucking cool.
I only ever saw Austin Butler in Shannara Chronicles but he absolutely smashed his role as Feyd. He seems like such a genuine guy too. Big things for him.
@@dominiquepowell3158 yeah, i agree I could have done with another series or two. I missed Elvis but love the Duniverse and think he showed such range in one role as Feyd.
he was insanely good as Feyd-Rauth!! His voice was so creepy and also all the creepy smiles and gestures he incorporated to the character was AWESOME. It`s very soon but he better be nominated to best supporting actor. I LOVE YOU AUSTIN, I knew you will show everyone one day how good you are!
Did anyone else catch that he perfectly mimicked the vocal style that Stellan developed for Baron Vladimir? Like, he perfectly copied it, which made their blood ties feel that much more authentic.
@@stalwartzero7001physically, Timothee fits the role of Paul very well and Austin's way too large and imposing for that. I don't currently buy Timmy as someone who could command an army but I'm sure he will grow into it. I think Timothee is really good actor but he was overshadowed by just how incredible Austin was. Feyd just stole the entire movie. I'm so sad that he's probably not going to be in future Dune films, unless there are flashbacks. Our time with Feyd- Rauth was was so brief but he made the biggest impact.
Absolutely magnetic character! Austin brought such a clear understanding of what psychopath is - a big part of it is a small child. That remained unsocial, with childish mimics, reactions, needs. Terrific performance.
I love the way he walked and how it was shot, it was like he slithered around the way his head stayed still in the frame and he moved from the neck down
I'd say him AND Chalamet as Paul. Paul is quite perfect as well acting more with facial expressions and mannerisms just like Butler who reminded me of a lizard type human with his mannerisms and way of talking
He and Timothy absolutely killed it in Diune 2. His performance and Timothy in second half of the movie where he goes full on Lisan Al-gaib mode was just mind blowing. Got back from cinema today, already booked next one... in 2 weeks becasue everything is full for next two weeks in Imax :D. Absolutely love the success of this movie. So deserved. Such a spectacle.
Omg Austin was scary amazing as Feyd!!!! He played the Feyd character as super crazy, insane and a maniac!! I was blown away as him as Feyd!!! He still looked super hot in this movie!!!! Loved Dune 2!!!! ❤❤❤
Such humble and down to Earth in this interview and such a psycho in the movie: one of the best actors we have nowadays. It is always a pleasure to see he acting.
Such an unlikely star. I will probably see Masters Of The Air and Bikeriders because of him. I was not into Elvis, but feel that role transformed this actor into something more. He has the glow now. All these things going for him. I like how he said the Dune cast is like a team and very close. You see the professionalism.
Not sure if you are aware, but he was also in Quentin Tarantino's Once upon a time in Hollywood. Plays Tex Watson, he looks and sounds totally different too.
This bloke has a stellar career in front of him. I reckon he’s the next Harrison Ford. Talent, smoking hot, sexy voice and most importantly he seems like a genuine person 😀
Did I miss him speaking about how he prepared for the role? Title of the video was misleading. He did a fantastic job in the film. His character was so unsettling, intimidating and just plain scary!
1:18 I don't know why but seeing Austin in that armour and cape instantly reminded me of Michael Shannon as General Zod from Man of Steel when I first saw the film.

I saw him only in Elvis and I think he put a great effort there, but I didn't really think it was some insane, amazing performance. But he nailed it as Feyd, completely different character from Elvis and he nailed down even those little mannerisms, posture, speech. A legit great performance that surprised me as I didn't expect the part or him to come off so good.
Austin didn’t “steal” any scenes-he is an excellent ensemble actor. What shows onscreen is Austin’s magnetic appeal. I just saw The Bikeriders, and your eye is just drawn to him in every scene, no matter what. You simply can’t look away. The only other actor I’ve ever seen like that is James Dean. Austin deserves an Oscar nom for Feyd. Better win that one.
oh he got hot again! but I'm also like was he always this shy cute or did we all just bully him so much about the elvis voice that now he's a little insecure about it? :/
Whoever mastered this... Please check your audio levels. This is exceptionally quiet compared to most videos on youtube, and with Austin's soft speaking voice, he's very difficult to understand.
I actually couldn't see him in the Feyd make up, even the close ups. With no help in identification coming from that creepy ass voice, either. That's a compliment, btw.
He Slayed. But. After the end. Of. Dune. Part One. After the fathers. Assassinati on. They claimed their Land. With Warrior ChäNi, but yet i would make. The part One. End. With the. Spice is literally an analogue for western obsession with oil. Dune could also be seen as a commentary on Iran's islamic revolution. Honestly Suchitra maybe it's the sheer density of movies you need to watch as a reviewer- in my humble opinion, the film is not hollow, you just missed the mark in terms of your research and reading of the film. And if you think Feyd-Rautha is shallow, try looking up what Rumsfield, Dick Cheney and ofc bush pulled during the invasion of iraq lol.
This movie was a DUD. Way over hyped! The next producers should focus on finding better writers and story tellers. If I see one more gladiator with a sword fighting in an arena I'm going to throw up. The next Director should NOT be so focused on imagery. The first Dune in 1984 was the best one.

He made Feyd into such a brutal character. Absolutely fantastic work.
Agreed. Way to go Austin! #DuneMovie
You right ✅️
HE STOLE THE SHOW.
Agree
What? seriously? 😂
Just average acting.
Austin Butler nailed this performance imo. I never even recognized it was him during the movie.
He did an outstanding job! #AustinButler #DuneMovie

Feyd just not ever blinking with that soul draining eyes the whole time was just magnificent 🤌🤌

Shame that the show got canceled but he's killing it nowadays!
@@dominiquepowell3158 yeah, i agree I could have done with another series or two. I missed Elvis but love the Duniverse and think he showed such range in one role as Feyd.
He actually has quite the resume. He was in Switched at Birth, Arrow, we all know about Elvis and I'm think he is involved in yet another project.
Bruhh i was always wondering where i knew his face from, thank you for bringing back memories 😂

his voice is always creepy LOL!!!

He was my favourite character in this new Film. He was simply excellent!!!
Austin could really do some ASMR what a deliciously smooth voice.
Did anyone else catch that he perfectly mimicked the vocal style that Stellan developed for Baron Vladimir? Like, he perfectly copied it, which made their blood ties feel that much more authentic.
Because the Baron raised him from birth so it makes perfect sense :)
Seeing Austin's performance as Feyd in this movie instantly made me become a fan!
Made me wish he had Timothees part tbh

He stole the movie and that’s saying a lot because all the actors in Dune 2 crushed it

Austin is such a talented actor! The way he played Feyd is just incredible. Love him ❤
I watched this movie just for austin , he never fails to make every movies about him , excellent actor 👏🏼👏🏼
Austin's Fayd was so creepy, dangerous and wild that it took your breath away as soon as he appeared in the frame 😯😳
LOVED him in Dune, he really brought the character to life.

Austin on Masters of the Air was when I saw him before Dune 2 dropped and I was gobsmacked! Brilliant acting
Just came from Theater today and it was amazing ❤
I had goosebumps watching Dune especially seeing Austin
Austin knew the right balance to make Feyd larger than life without going too over the top and being a caricature.
Yea I agree. It’s like he’s super evil and that’s apparent but there’s a certain human trait to him that’s very enticing throughout the film.
Excellent movie. Austin Butler stole all his scenes as Feyd.
Clever lad. He stole the show

OMG AUSTIN MY HARKONNEN
If Denis can revive and match, respect or even improve both Blade Runner and DUNE, imagine if he was given the Terminator, or TRON.
The Terminator 1 and 2 should not be touched. Maybe a spinoff or a 3rd part where they dont fumble the bag like they have so many times
He was great
My volume level is usually at 15%, and here I can't even hear anything at 100%.
Why did I confuse him with Bill Skaarsgard when I first saw him on screen lol
He is the James Dean of this generation 😎
Nearly four minutes and Austin managed to let out roughly 14 words, and I didn't hear a single one of them, but I'm fine with it.
He did amazing! He frightened me. And them teeth ugh
