    FYI a lot of major airlines don't have the rule of having 2 crews at all times in the flight deck since germanwings... Surprising but true

    And what, if one of the pilots decides to crash the plane with the other pilot not in the cockpit (say for peeing)? he could force a "locked" position every time a person want's to access the cockpit ...
    Ohh... wait ...

      But the Qusestion is:
      What is when the counter is on normal mode?
      Does the door opend or is than locked?
      So if it is locked there is no action needed from inside?
      If in normal mode the door isnt't locked there is a action from inside the cockpit needed.
      -You know what i mean?

      @Bot_User Tech He did but the flight deck can ALWAYS override commands from outside. This is standard procedure since 9/11. When they don't respond to cabin crew it can also be because they're talking to ATC and can't talk to the cabin or because they're dealing with technical difficulties and need to focus and can't communicate with crew. So they can't have them barge in thinking flight crew is in distress, so they override it. In this case, as crew you're taught to disregard it and let them work. If the door doesn't unlock after the emergency code it means they're dealing with something and you have to wait. Usually they call you on the intercom and explain to you they couldn't have you come in. In 99.999999999% of cases. Not saying 100 because of german wings...

    • @saharapanda
      @saharapanda 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, if in any case someone tries to get in while it's open by crew it's easier for flight crew to push close than pull close so it does make sense....

    what's the difference between norm and lock

    • @bradporky16
      @bradporky16 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Jaon Makepeace when "lock" is selected by the flight deck crew, it locks out the external keypad for 5 minutes. In "norm", the door is locked but the keypad may still be used

    • @hotshot4512
      @hotshot4512 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrJindujun no... When you select lock it just simply locks the keypad from use. You can cancel the 5 minutes by just putting it into the unlock position
