    Hi lovelies! I hope you liked the video. By the way, I also made scenario computations at the last few minutes of the video so be sure to watch until the end. I provided computations on a person who earns a minimum wage job living in Auckland, a family with 2 children where both parents are earning minimum wage, and a person living a good lifestyle in Auckland. Let me know what you think about these computations!

    Here in Australia a 60 square house with 5 bedrooms, 4 lounges, double garage car only costs 2.5 million. But that’s a mansion already. To rent a 3 bedroom house will be at least 300 to 400 AUD. A bigger house will be 400-500 AUD depending on the size of the house, the structure and how new is it. New apartments might be expensive especially in the city area. 2 bedroom apartment May cost 800,000 to 1 million. This is just an estimate. Also depending on the builder. But New Zealand is quite expensive. What more other things. Maybe will just stay here in Australia. My husband loved it here already. His Maltese and I’m Filipina. We met here while his on holiday. We’re ok here and he doesn’t want to live anywhere else anymore. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

    This is the best immigrant video I've seen. Not only bec of how informative it is but because the presenter is straight to the point. There's no dilly dallying, it's not an impromptu presentation. And there's none of those annoying and distracting sound effects that most Philippine Vlogger video's have.

    I tell you what, I’m a New Zealander, I’m 34 years old and I have 2 kids, the average New Zealander earning the average wage cannot survive comfortably no matter where you are in the North Island, especially Auckland, food prices, house prices, rent prices, utility prices etc etc are all over priced compared to the amount of money you earn, you need to people working to sustain a functioning life, sometimes that won’t even be a comfortable life as one persons wage goes to rent, the others goes to food and utilities, impossible to save, impossible to buy a house, impossible to actually get ahead. It’s called inflation and it steals money from you in the form of lowering the value of your dollar in your pocket which makes everything else more expensive, meanwhile the wage doesn’t rise accordingly, and if it did it would set prices even higher cos there’s more money out there once again. In short. We are fucked. The whole western world is experiencing this now and it’s because of big governments and big banks over spending and over printing!

    • @courtneyrose4368
      @courtneyrose4368 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, unfortunately living in Auckland (or like you said anywhere in north-island from experience) even just above minimum wage is paycheck to paycheck (if you're lucky), even if you have qualifications or skills your still (most likely) looking at earning a pretty low-wage in contrast to the price of basic living, most people I know work 2 jobs or do overtime every week to make enough money....rentals and houses prices have gone up since this was posted it seems, and a lot of the rentals available are absolute health hazards (be careful!!). But we will keep hoping ....

      It's the same here in Ireland. You'd struggle to live on minimum wage. When I grew up my father's wage alone supported a family of 5 with 3 children. You'd struggle to do that now. Most families or couples I know both adults have to work and people wouldn't be able to afford 3 children now unless you are depending solely on social welfare and get subsidised housing.

    Shortage of housing especially in Auckland account for the high cost of ownership of a house.

    For your 2 child budget family you did not include government allowances that this family would certainly qualify for so at the time of this video would probably give them a substantial amount more per week, essentially returning nearly all their income tax. Also things have changed dramatically of course, as they have in every country, the minimum wage has risen but also so has inflation, so anyone watching this video would need to take these things into account.

    New Zealanders expenses could be less expensive especially if you have a backyard. Causes you usually get enough of space for your own garden fruit trees and a chicken coup especially in the rural areas some countries you'll be lucky if you had a backyard or outdoor space then you can trade with neighbours for some thing they may have in their garden or fruit tree you may not have. Meat a group of neighbours can get together directly and bargain a better price with a farmer for a lamb beef or pork they may have a there own abattoir on there farm causes every sheep or cattle farmer in New Zealand is a skilled Butcher. Your giving the farmer a better price than hes getting for a whole sheep than he would get from exporting it overseas they sell the cattle in bulk causes its faster to get rid of them hence the lower price a farmer gets per cow,sheep,pork he probably sells his sheep per head overseas in bulk $100 example a group of neighbours could offer him $150 each thats cheaper than buying 4 leg of lambs and you could buy one each for a month same goes with other cattle. Also with the orchard farmers. Before we could buy thoses things on the side of the road or pick your own from the orchards and vegetable garden farmers all of that disappeared causes of supermarkets under cutting thoses farmers.there is always a cheaper way buy going directly to the farmer. They'll rather sell there product to a New Zealander for a fear price than to export it overseas the sheep population dropped severely we use to have over 75 million now its down to 30 mil the farmers ain't getting money from the wool and the money they get from exporting them overseas has dropped so they've changed to dairy farming which is less environmentally friendly but more sustainable than sheep farming.

    what i'd notice with this budget, its all expenses, nothing on savings. you should consider investing even in banks' mutual funds, and better yet, try the stock market. you should put a certain amount every week on your savings and consider it as part of your money you use too. save for your future!

    How much is everyone taxed each week from working minimum wage from working 8 hours for 5 days a week? I’m 16 soon and I’m looking at videos like these to prepare me for the future, I want to live in Auckland in 2023, as my brother lives there.

    • @LoveTrisha
      @LoveTrisha  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! The minimum wage just went up recently, it’s now around $20 now. So if you’re earning $20 per hour multiplied by 8 hrs for 5 days (20x8x5) = that’s about $800 per week. To compute your income tax deduction, we have to know you’re annual income so ($800 x 52 weeks) then that would be $41,600. According to NZ tax rate, if you’re earning from $14,001 to $48,000 then you’re tax rate is 17.5%. So, $41,600 x .175 then you tax deductible is $7,280. $41,600 less $7,280 then your net income is 34,320 which is about $660 per week ($34,320/52 weeks).

    Hi Trisha, I and my husband are planning on relocating to New Zealand but we don't know how to go about it.
    Is there any offers on government sponsored jobs presently?

    NZ should be more cheaper considering it's only a small country. Surely the NZ government can afford to provide proper houses and more public transportation it's not like it's a big as Australia to get around and why is the food so expensive...it doesn't make any sense at all and I can understand now why alot of people leave NZ for Australia...and what's irritating is that people go on about the one of the pro's of living there is getting to enjoy the scenery. How is a scenery gonna feed U or the family... while they paying big $$ to rent a run down house with inadequate heating ...sorry to say but living in a country just to enjoy the scenery is not worth it.

    I’m from the USA and retired. I’m getting $1875.00 from SS. Like to live a simple life. Love bicycling, walking, hiking. I want to move and live there.
    Is $1875.00 a reasonable amount??

      @Cereal Spiller thank you for your reply. I think I be more happy in a smaller city/town then Auckland. One bedroom apartment is ok with me.
      My more concern is finding bicycle clubs and people for enjoying outdoor activities.

    Omg I think I can't save money if I go in NZ, I think, All countries are high on cost of living. I did finish my contract in japan but now I want to work in NZ. But i think it's the same scenario😢 Always working and no savings for retirement.

    The landlord does not provide refrigerator and washing machine? What happens when the rent ended? The tenant has to take his washing machine and refrigerator with him?

    • @LoveTrisha
      @LoveTrisha  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Typically, most of the flats/apartments here have refrigerators/mini-fridges or even other appliances for the tenants. It actually depends on the type of apartment you are renting. The landlord discloses if the property comes fully-furnished, semi or unfurnished. For other smaller apartments (like studio-type apartments), most of them come fully or semi-furnished. So don't worry, you don't have to bring the refrigerator or washing machine with you as long as you choose a suitable apartment. 😉

      I rent a house in Australia and brought my fridge and washing machine with me. When I move house again, will just take them to the next house. Same with my furniture.

    See the article in the UK The Guardian newspaper on line to day 02.09.23 titled "Boomerang Adults". It explains the current TRUE position & economic situation of life in New Zealand for native born. Potential immigrants should be fully aware of the situation. It's bad and not likely to improve any time soon !

    Please help me I have a job offer there but in a low class job fruit peaker...how can I survive in a monthly bill.....please answer my question...in February2022 I will go over there in New Zealand...

    • @LoveTrisha
      @LoveTrisha  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Pwede ka po maghanap ng room for rent na malapit sa workplace mo. Makak-survive ka naman po sa sahod mo as fruit picker pero sakto lang po yun para makapamuhay ka dito sa Auckland and makapagpadala hopefully sa pamilya mo sa pinas. Pero kung isasama mo po family mo dito sa NZ, need po siguro ng wife mo maghanap din ng trabaho and baka hindi po ninyo maafford ang magsolo ng tirahan for rent kasi masyado po mataas ang cost of living dito. Yan po ay based lamang sa observations ko dito kaya maaari pong iba ang maging kalagayan ninyo pagdating niyo dito. Kasi hindi ko naman po alam kung ilan ang offer sainyo na salary.

      Hi! There are some really high skilled jobs or in-demand jobs that NZ companies can hire overseas. However, for low skilled jobs they only currently hire those who are already in NZ because the NZ border is still closed.
