damn those groove are so simple but sound so good ! those kind of groove you can listen to for one hour straight and wont get boring ! he knows his stuff
Great workflow, that’s the way! For techno I tend to get dirt and smudge by running my sounds through my lofi Mackie desk and grainy effects units & samplers, not always necessary to go for mega high end outboard imho
Quite some negative comments here, but this dude is not just flexing his studio, but giving great insights into how he uses everything to the max. He clearly rinses his gear, and could make great sounding tracks with anything, but slowly built his distinctive sound.
interesting. I remember the hardware only days before computers and digital were the norm. Could never get the synths I wanted, they ran like $1500 or more a pop. For that money I can get incredible softsynths, many of them making mono only classic synths polyphonic, which is a dream come true and I have money left over for life stuff. Only other producers will hear any differences in the sounds of software vs hardware. Probably why I hear so many DAWs in the charts today. Folks using Reason to make hot chart music but never admitting it lol.. BUT if you do have the money for these hardware only setups, you can get some nice stuff going on for sure. We live in great times today with these choices. Nice vid!
The screen represents what the encoders are doing , so once you've used it a while, you don't really think about the screen much. You look at it, yes, but you know what buttons to press without looking down. You're focus is on what you're doing, not what you're looking at. It's very logically laid out.
Some like to reinvent the wheel, and others just want to make really great wheels. A good track will always be a good track, no matter how old it is. Zeitgeist music, on the other hand, has a tendency to age really badly, so if a producer wants to build a body of work that stands the test of time, they might want to focus on a genre they love and enjoy instead of chasing for the next big thing all the time.
right so bearing in mind he's been making music a long time, knows what he's doing and picks Cubase like many others out there (because it is pretty much the god father to them all and when you know it well........) he's going to listen to some guy on the internet who's using what used to be like a toy programme and thinks everyone else should too..come on let's not be silly here :\
That last thing he said is one of the most realist things I heard any producer say. Salute!
Agree
The quality of these videos is like a movie.
Last sentence define everything !!!
Excellent vid! I loved Shlomi's production style, everything by ear and nothing by the "book."

Great video. What's the thing with the floppy drive in the beginning? At first I thought it was something from EMU, but I can't recognize it.

very nice video! but with the analog four you also have to look at the screen a lot. its just a smaller screen.
hahaha it has knobs though

Buying a $6000 equaliser and a Vari Mu compressor to play electronic bleeps through them is some real dedication.

Your MIDI controller keyboard isn’t a “ little “ far from touch ?
🇮🇱🇩🇪 🤜🏻🤛🏽
his sound, bla Bla Bla... remember Aril?
Aril ?
Aril Brikha ?
All good but why would you limit yourself by making boring Techno tracks like they have been made thousands of times over the last 30 years??
Obv you don't get it.

what kind of studio is this ? no full ashtrays, beer or coffee cups, no electronic music magazines no traces of anything, this studio has no soul.
If you call full ashtrays, beer etc. „soul“, you might have a different vision of soul 😬
cause its techno not house
